@treasure33333 that's a good time. I haven't gotten my druid run to under 2hr just yet but I think I can (noted improvements but not implemented). Interesting how your route and jspy's (I think that's him?) Differs. He hit an incredible 1hr 15 min iirc.
Shamans make me jealous for earth shock, mulgore has some terribly frequent casters compared to other zones, and the scripts on pservers unfortunately also have the dwarven clerics chain healing themselves which is brutal w.o. shock or warstomp
20-30 completed. Uploaded here:
I reached 30 in 22h. Compared to hunters this is where I start to fall behind, I still think its a decent time for a paladin though, and hopefully I can keep going in a decent pace.
JUDGEMENT
That's a damn good pace still - my hunter dinged 30 at ~28 hours with a ton of rested exp. For a class with limited ranged pull options you're on an exceptional pace.

Wow @Judgement, that is awesome. A huge thanks for uploading the videos as well. You're really shattering the opinion that paladins are the slowest levelers, because there's clearly great potential when played efficiently.

Did another 1-10 with the intention of continueing it to 20 afterwards, but made 2 gigantic mistakes ending up at 10 only at 1h45 and doing a quest which I would return to at 10 with the class quest anyways, so I ended the run. Anyone else scared to fuck up bigtime on release aswell? A mistake could set you back for another hour or 2 stuck in the pack :/

Think about that for a moment... "only" at 1h45m. World record runs weren't touching that time until we all started collectively practicing this stuff haha. With the experience we're gaining, I don't think we have to worry about falling behind.Xinergy wrote: ↑6 years agoDid another 1-10 with the intention of continueing it to 20 afterwards, but made 2 gigantic mistakes ending up at 10 only at 1h45 and doing a quest which I would return to at 10 with the class quest anyways, so I ended the run. Big part of marathon speedrunning is just working with what you get. Whether that is having alternate routes or backup plans or what not is up to you.
Level 20 in 7h 3m
My goal for this run was to get under the 7h mark to 20. It was going really well at first, i got lucky with a Short Ash Bow at level 18, everything was going great. Then i hit level 19. I died once doing Gyromasts Revenge, and then again during Absent Minded Prospector+The Sleeper Has Awakened escorts. It was my first time doing them together and i got a bit overzealous with the mobs. Ended up stopping the run at lvl 19.9 after i miscalculated quest turn in exp, which is why im rested going into 21.
Level 30 in 17h 42m
Still some areas to improve in this level range, but really happy overall.
impressive times, Berg!
I got another 1-10 with my mage and was able to do it in 1:29:08 as you can see in the video and screenshot below.
Still fascinated about the speed of JokerdTV, he is still 7 min faster than me :o
Farewell,
Aeg.

Haha yeah but it's a local repack. There are gonna be flaws in my route for fresh launches I think...
I don't see me getting a run under 2hours with contesting going on.

Thanks! It was done on my guilds repack.
@Jpy
Started getting back into the swing of things for classic, still barely under 2h 1-10 durotar hunter, but I've been keeping an eye on this thread. I respect your style of playing with a "realistic" path that could translate to live servers instead of using methods that work only when uncontested.
I was wondering about your quest progression past the tirigarde keep quests, in the 7-10 range to get such a good time recently. Do you bother doing quests like dark storms, winds in the desert, kolkar agression that are kind of out of the way, and do you do the troll kills/zalzane quest as well even though you may have to burn quite a few glues or wait on respawns during live? I think most of the time you've been shaving is in that 7-10 range, right? nice work

Yeah the only people that have a chance of getting sub 2h on a fresh are those who are extremely lucky on login (and waste no time at char screen) and get the first quest done asap and use that small edge to snowball into a considerable lead. Or, if there's heavy sharding, it may not be as bad as we think.

@blendio without revealing too much of the route that I by no means came up with by myself, I can tell you that I do all of those quests besides Zalazane. For Classic launch, I would recommend you still pick it up and see if you can group for it/gauge how heavy competition is for it when you get there before making a decision to skip it outright. I also don’t really need to use any glue besides for the Elite near the second attack plans for Kolkars (which should be considerably easier for Classic with correct values) but it’s nice for the melee mobs for Encroachment. The route I use is 100% based on what I would do for Classic too, minus some mobs that won’t be up when you’re passing through because of population and some GY skips that I’m unsure about.

@Sams yeah I'm planning to run Dwarf Pally/Gnome Lock with a partner for Classic release. I figured it would be faster than soloing as a Pally, although Judgment is making me second guess thatSams wrote: ↑6 years ago@Vemp Nice job! What do you mean as a duo? If you meant with another player, let me know! I have this route down pretty solid.
From a Warrior standpoint, this whole process is 100% dependent on upgrading your white weapons ASAP from vendor and praying for a Green 2h Axe drop. Hit me up on discord if you want to try this as a duo (discord linked with profile)

How realistic is it to say boost a char to 40 on a repack, add some quest reward gear you'd have at that point, and practice 40-50 routes? Or is the variance in gear at that point going to be too much difference?

Very realistic, google repack gm commands.Untainted wrote: ↑6 years agoHow realistic is it to say boost a char to 40 on a repack, add some quest reward gear you'd have at that point, and practice 40-50 routes? Or is the variance in gear at that point going to be too much difference?
As for the gear, if you have a route in mind you can just research the quest rewards up until that point.

I did another run, first thinking that I failed my previous run by a couple seconds.
However, looking at the screenshot I beat it with 2 mins :)
1h 44m 29s on a repack with a gnome lock called "Zephtree"
I had 1 big mistake being that I died during the leper gnome Q that made me respawn in Coldridge Valley.
The Time deff still has room for improvement.
Twitch VOD, the actual run starts at 30.00
