@Massivechonk it’s like 5.6-5.7. Definitely better for launch as you want to get to Tiragarde as quickly as possible and you’ll still hit 6 on the way to Razor Hill. I’m leaving Razor Hill with all quests (and the ones from Sen’jin) and the vendor axe at ~28m.

@Jpy Hmm... it most def makes sense. I'll be sure to leave the starting zone at 5 as well and doing only the bare minimum for the quests as that will most likely be the case at launch.

Greatly improved my Dwarf Warrior speed. But RNGesus granted me with a green 7.? dps 2h axe at lvl 5 which GREATLY improved my kill speed.
Lightshope Repack
After altering my route a little i managed to get my first druid under the 1h 50min mark and i even managed to screw things up and HS back to shadowglen in the process, but happy with the results, time to move ahead to the 10-20 stretch, cheers to all of you!
Personally i think apple is the most important one, it bassicly give 2hp/sec out of comeback + 2 sta for 2.5 hours. I started keeping them for harder quests too. Like, trolls on island, goblin warlock, first centuar barrens boss, isha awak (i know hunters dont need for later, but hp regen is actually really good) and it takes 1 min to do the quest

@Tactics I disagree. You have to path at least somewhat out of your way compared to not doing it so it ends up being +1m-1 1/2m. During the channel, you can attack nothing as any damage will interrupt it. Anything you can do to not get bottlenecked at Yarrog or Tiragarde is a plus. Not to mention for every apple you pick someone is taking Scorpions/Vile Familiars from you slowing you down further. Regen is already really good at low levels and every time you die (which is a lot using GY shortcuts effectively) you lose the buff + the downtime from eating in general (I try to avoid this as much as possible, especially before level 5 food/water).
E: Promise to get this updated soon!

@Jpy I guess on release, i could consider it not being worth, because you want to rush forward. However if the server is sharded and not a lot of players is on it i still think it's worth it. I also keep them ( i dont use before a graveyard shortcut death). But i guess as a rogue i waste way less time compared to a hunter. How i do it is i attack a mob > Take one > attack a mob > take one. That way i get my energy back while i loot them. So honestly i barely lose any time on it. At the samet time i also get way more use of them considering i'm a rogue (Like i said, i save them, like i do isha awak at 19 and every buff helps, so i always safe them for tough times like that, or if i know i need to farm for 15 mins straight i also like using 1).

Nice run dude! Impressive time, better than what I've done so far. I also enjoyed the music in the videos! Thanks for sharing.Judgement wrote: ↑6 years agoDid 1-20 on Lightbringer with my Paladin
was a bit tired so I did some mistakes, died several times to stupid things, but still a decent time
I think this route is really good. going to continue to 30. will be up in a few days hopefully
Part 1 Elwynn Forest 1-10 in 1h33min
Part 2 Loch modan 10-12 in 2h50min
Part 3 Darkshore 10-16 in 5h03min
Part 4 Redridge/Loch 16-19 in 7h40min
Part 5 Darkshore 19-20 in 8h40min

Here's my latest attempt: 1h 42m 42s as a Dwarf Paladin 1-10 on a Lights Hope repack:
Died foolishly to one of the higher level wolves at level 6, wasn't paying attention. I also spent a lot of time getting chased around north of Brewnall Village because I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings and kept aggroing adds. I also failed the Mornbrew delivery quest because I thought I could kill Griknir before it expired. I could not. Overall I suspect I could shave about ~5 minutes off this time. I'm also going to be testing a very slight modification of the route as a duo, which will include things like buying the Wooden Mallet at level 4, and killing Vagash for Protecting the Herd at level 8 or 9.

@Vemp Nice job! What do you mean as a duo? If you meant with another player, let me know! I have this route down pretty solid.
From a Warrior standpoint, this whole process is 100% dependent on upgrading your white weapons ASAP from vendor and praying for a Green 2h Axe drop. Hit me up on discord if you want to try this as a duo (discord linked with profile)
Does anyone know of a good 12-20 barrens video (preferably with a warlock)? I've decided on warlock and just did a run to 20 at 9h51m. I thought it went well and I felt pretty efficient, but looking at the record times on the front page I'm thinking there are definitely some things I'll need to improve upon. Admittedly, I did a ton of grinding on the way from quest to quest (it's just so easy with a warlock) and I was typically at least 1 level higher than Joanna's guide said I would be. Perhaps I should have skipped more mobs on the way?
Also, I didn't get a wand until like level 16. Should I be buying a wand before then?

Hey all! Just started attempting 1-10 as a troll warrior last week, and after 5 attempts, I was able to achieve 2h 23min 31 seconds on Northdale. I was mining along the way and I also saved mats for leveling cooking. Playing NA night time, so not too many players in the way.
@Sams, I think this goes in the horde/screenshots/troll/warrior category for the speed run spreadsheet.
Im very interested in how people are reducing their time to 10 in Durotar to nearly an hour less. I followed Joana's Durotar guide, but it seemed like I had missed a quest or two (despite constantly grinding when running everywhere and using the best available white weapons!), since I had to just straight grind out a half level a few times (5.5 to 6, 7.5 to 8, 9.5 to 10), although I am certain I did not miss a quest! My time to 5 was ~22 minutes, while time to 8 was 1hr 25!
i've posted on the reddit few weeks back, guess i post here aswell. Done on Lightbringer. 1-10 level, 1:25:19 tauren shaman. i've never done repack or anything like that, no partying or rested xp or extra items/chants, done in one take.
i've also posted my route, so here it is aswell. (not saying it the best or anything, as shaymen done faster (but on repack), but just how i've done it, maybe it help someone or give some ideas :) also i did earth totem quest, cos its needed to be done for the real run, if you skip it you can save couple of minutes more, earth totem quest isnt mentioned in the route (cos i assumed it for all classes), but i do it on a shaman). the main approach is to keep moving while hitting mobs and chain pull. gl all

AFAIK the earliest wand you can buy is 15 anyway, for 33s in Org? Apart from that you can get one from doing The Escape! escort quest NE on barrens. I dont personally like routing in escorts as I just done think the chances of doing the early ones is possible come launch.
You need to skip prof's for a start, other than than its just practice and optimizing the route. Joana's is great but its tailored for a hunter. Do some test runs with quests in a slightly different order based on what you feel is more comfortable at the time for your class etc.
You also mentioned having to grind for half a level or so. Are you grinding in between objectives as it is? or just going from A to B ignoring mobs?
I think ranged classea should get isha awak wand at level 19 or 20. Its a lvl 27 green wand for that level, super strong tbh. I can do isha at level 19 as a rogue, so i believe other classes can too. (The secret is blood shards buff, i get 25 str, 25 agi, armor + it takes 10 dmg when it attacks me) this + potion makes me able to solo him at 19. (Casters can get 25 int)

Do you guys expect sharding to be like a shard for the whole starterzone? or will you phase in & out of shards within starterzone? I might have found a better route that returns to earlier quests later. If you stay in the same shard for the whole starterzone it could be that everyone has already finished the quest by then so it's still worth doing. Got another 1h41min run done but I might have found another 5min saver actually... will need more bagspace though so if RNG kicks in and I don't get any bag drops that tactic is out of the window.

I am grinding between mobs. However, after watching other videos, I think I see that I am too motivated to keep moving to the next quest objective, and don’t sit in the A+ grind spots long enough. Also, I was using Mn’s 1-12 orc warrior run as reference, and only now found that the quest expos are completely buffed, so his route isint gonna be optimal.Dankmandan wrote: ↑6 years agoYou also mentioned having to grind for half a level or so. 1-10 2h 5min
1-20 8h 45min
1-30 19h 3min
This is my first attempt tho!
Anyone also plays Alliance Hunter and want to overread my route? <3

First rogue play through ever. Definitely messed this up by not training lvl 8 skills in Goldshire before heading to east logging camp. Will re-try this at a later time. Would legit cut off 30 minutes, should have just hearthed back.
2hr 20min 32s
Do you follow joanas Undead guide 1-10/12 or do you have your own route? tried following joanas guide and it seems a bit slow & he wants u to kill that Maggot 11 gnoll when im level 7 which doesnt seem possible as a rogue or priest atleast. Though on a fresh server there will always be people at maggot quest ready to group up :D.Xinergy wrote: ↑6 years agoDo you guys expect sharding to be like a shard for the whole starterzone? or will you phase in & out of shards within starterzone? Yeah I started out with joana's guide and changed it up slightly. A priest can do it using the fences next to the barn, though we'll have to see if its gonna be possible in the beta. Pathing might be totally different from private servers.Markom wrote: ↑6 years agoDo you follow joanas Undead guide 1-10/12 or do you have your own route? tried following joanas guide and it seems a bit slow & he wants u to kill that Maggot 11 gnoll when im level 7 which doesnt seem possible as a rogue or priest atleast. As a rogue its not soloable on that level. If theres no group around while doing the other quest, just skip it. I dont think its part of a chain.

My fist run as a gnome mage to level 10 took me 1h 37min 53s . I died once in the late trogg cave (which is very unfortunate because you respawn at IF) and my first vagash pull didnt work properly. Looking forward to improve my 1-10 time and learning the 10-20 too.
Farewell,
Aeg.

@Aegnor can’t watch your video at the moment, did you run on one of the Light’s Hope variants or repack?
