There certainly are https://classic.wowhead.com/quest=1148/ ... -the-swarm of the Alliance and Horde (especially Humans, Orcs, Night Elves and Forsaken) who have compelling reasons to hate or at least highly distrust each other, but what about Tauren and Gnomes?
Also, I don't think any race or nation in Azeroth is "innocent" - just like real life nations every one of them has at least a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=2378/skeleton-finger in their closet.
Warcraft may have originated from a simple "good vs. evil" game, but fortunately the lore evolved into something more complex.
Every race, every nation has their own past, agenda and reasons.
Orcs invaded Azeroth and slaughtered everything on sight. This is not their homeland, they came to conquer it. They are an alien race to the azeroth yet they claim the right to seize the lands by force. You seem to forget about that. Undead practics are mostly evil, Taurens might not be bloodthirsty as orcs but they willingly joined them and fought for their cause.
Dark spears and Taurens are acceptable though.
The Alliance has not done nearly as much evil as the Horde.
I don't even understand why we're having this discussion in the first place, because I don't think I ever mentioned (let alone meant) anything you seem to insinuate.
My initial post in this thread was about Alliance and Horde working together against a greater evil in the past and how I (as a druid, mind you!) would like to see this peaceful relations thrive.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I never denied certain events prior to that cooperation, because that wasn't the point of my post.
That doesn't mean I'm not aware of them.
So why do you feel the urge to write something like "You seem to forget about that"?
I would also still like to know:
Who wrote of the Horde "like they were innocent puppies" and where?

But alright - now that we are already talking about these events:
The part about the Orcish Horde is true (although you could argue they were tainted by the blood of Mannoroth, so they weren't really in control of themselves at the time).
The Tauren joined the Horde later, after Thrall and the redeemed Orcish tribes landed in Kalimdor, because they were desperate for allies in their fight against the centaurs.
It was a different situation - the Orcs were "free" and in search of a new homeland, which they found in Durotar.

Debatable. Humans and Night Elves for example have their own morally ambiguous past.
Breaking WoW lore down to reputable Alliance vs. evil Horde falls short in my opinion.
In the end I think every subfaction in WoW has compelling reasons to act as they do, even the Forsaken - as repulsive as that may appear to outsiders.
And that's what I like about (classic) Warcraft lore: the ambiguity.
