@Jpy Thank you!
I'm going to try out a cat, based on your previous comment, so I'm trying to figure out what would be the most optimal way to train claw and bite and all the other stuff. This helps a lot.

Anyone know how to enable breath on repack? Not sure how mine got disabled or if it just isn’t showing the bar.

I've found a TimerBar.Breath.GMLevel config variable in mangosd.conf but its description is kinda ambiguous:
Does setting it to 4 mean that 4 and higher have underwater breathing disabled? That would be my best guess.Disable/enable waterbreathing for security level (0..4) or high
Default: 4 (None)
If anyone wants to test some duo horde speed runs feel free to let me know (warrior or rogue on my part, willing to test a duo with anyone)

Shit, we're going to need a new section of the website just for speedrunners at this rate, it is super popular and active!!

Yea I found this one too but couldn’t get anything out of messing with it. I’m sort of suspicious of a UI that I was using, I think I noticed the bar missing after disabling the UI. All of my runs that I’ve done without it I’ve been super cautious not to cheat the breath time so I’m not even sure to be honest that it is disabled it may just be not showing the bar. If it is in fact an addon, wouldn’t deleting one of the folders fix that? I can’t remember which, I haven’t had to mess with WoW in this regard since like Cata rofl.Vemp wrote: ↑6 years agoI've found a TimerBar.Breath.GMLevel config variable in mangosd.conf but its description is kinda ambiguous:

That line means that accounts with GMLevel X and above have access to infinite underwater breathing. By default a level 4+ GM has this. If you want to keep your admin commands but also have a legit breath timer, change line 1056 to = 7, since GMLevel caps at 6.Jpy wrote: ↑6 years agoI've found a TimerBar.Breath.GMLevel config variable in mangosd.conf but its description is kinda ambiguous:

Im working on a good route to 20 for alliance, but I seem to fall behind others by quite a margin. 10-12 I do loch modan, then darkshore to 16. After that Im not sure what the best way is. Currently Im going back to westfall doing some of the later quests, and then redridge, but 16-20 is a lot of xp so it's hard to get there without doing all. East side of Loch is a possibility, but it seems dangerous to do the kill quests if there is a lot of people around, might fail them.
At 19 I can go back and finish Darkshore I guess but I would prefer 20.
If you could do a short summary of your routes I would appreciate it.
Also what would be considered a good /played to 20? I know I won't be able to hit a record time since Im playing paladin but still at this level I shouldnt be lagging behind 1-2 hours already
JUDGEMENT

After quite a few changes to the 1-10 route (credit to @Colroyds for much testing and discussion!) I did the first run of new route last night and beat my previous PB. Hunting Bow dropped at 7 from a Makrura Clacker (ridiculously lucky, 0.04% drop rate) and is probably the sole reason I beat my PB because I made a mistake some 15 minutes from the end that costed me ~4.5 minutes, so this pace should be reasonable without the bow and without the mistake. We've already come up with a better idea for the last bit of level 9 so more improvements on time soon, hopefully!
Level 10 @ 1hour 46minutes 19seconds
E: Leaderboards updated.

My 2nd attempt at a full 1-10. (local repack)
So many bad RNG but I guess I'm now prepared for the worst start I could get.
From 1-10 I had ZERO bag drops. I should've spent money on it but forgot it everytime. I must have deleted at least 20 items or more in this run. Especially when you need to do those quests in the west and get like 5 skulls, and more. Easily ignored 20+ silver cause of full bags.
Already found some more things I can improve but very happy overall that I can now easily go sub 2 hours :P

I think I already responded to you on reddit but basically good planning with a focus on minimising travel will yield you a brisk time to 20. Where a lot of people go wrong is forgetting to grind hard as they get around.Judgement wrote: ↑6 years agoIm working on a good route to 20 for alliance, but I seem to fall behind others by quite a margin. 10-12 I do loch modan, then darkshore to 16. For 10-20 I do Teldrassil to Darkshore. There are heaps of places to grind as you go - Bashalaran, Ametharan, furbolg villages, naga, cultists both north and south, even the owl bears.
We launched our guide for alliance which is a paid guide, but I’m posting it here because I said I would, and the sample section is 1-19 which will probably suit you.

Hi, no that was not me on reddit. And Im not having problems getting there, its just a matter of optimizing, saving those extra 30min-1hr which is cruicial at the start.Alenya wrote: ↑6 years agoI think I already responded to you on reddit but basically good planning with a focus on minimising travel will yield you a brisk time to 20. These are both of my runs so far in Durotar following Joana's guide step by step. I'm more proud of the warrior run even though it's a little longer /played. Admittedly, I did get extremely lucky on the warrior run (green 1h sword at level 5, green 2h axe at level 8, and green chain pants at level 9). Thoughts on the shaman - having an interrupt is huge. Especially for the Echo Isles trolls.

Both are nice times. Good job!Warcrazy wrote: ↑6 years agoThese are both of my runs so far in Durotar following Joana's guide step by step. Doing an updated, more launch fool-proof version of my leveling route. I skip more of the quests that could be timesinks when there are a lot of people around.
My time to 10 is a bit slower, but I gain more time in the long run since I'm already at Loch border.

Run from tonight @ 1hour 43minutes 39seconds
Very solid run overall (not too often I say that about my runs, I'm very critical) but still some room for improvement!
-1-2m potential save from the grind at the end, should've practiced it before hand but wanted to get going with the run
-1-2m potential save with more risky play/less looting levels 1-8
-2-3 mobs over and could've bought 1 less stack of arrows.

Welcome to the dark side :DStoepsel wrote: ↑6 years agoJust did my first try on a speedrun this morning. Did it on an orc warlock to lvl 10. Isn't the best time and died 2 times but I'm still happy with it and it will at least satisfy my wow addiction for a few hoursFollowed the guide from Joana.
Edit: server was Lightbringer
I wanted to give orc a go and I was expecting it to go slower during the start of the run.
Managed 1:52:55 to 10, so about a minute off than the troll one. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't terrible either. I also made some improvements to the route overall so that might be why the difference was just about 1 minute.
Not having the troll racials was more noticeable than I expected.
Cheers
Just finished another 1-10 on ND as I felt I needed practice with 0 addons. Somehow managed to equal my time even with skipping some of the named mob quests due to not wanting to wait 3-5 mins for spawns. Also made a fuck load of mistakes due to the no addon thing
Quick edit - did another run as I wasnt happy, managed to shave 6 mins off and saw some room for more improvement again. But overall quite happy with how its going considering its on ND.
First run today, didn't go as well as I'd hoped but still managed to come in under 3 hours as a warrior, which was my hard goal (soft goal was 2:45).
My end time ended up being 2 Hours 54 Minutes 9 Seconds.
Notes from the run:
The Good:
- Early and frequent bag drops. I had my first small bag drop while still in the valley of trials, then had another 3 drop with pretty steady frequency between then and 10.
- +5 axes as an orc was essential. I was still getting misses/dodged frequently (more on this below)
- Early Sarkoth. I managed to tag and get a kill as soon as I ran up the hill
- The population rate dropped off significantly outside the valley of trials
- No deaths due to some pretty decent potion luck
The Bad:
- Valley of trials had a very high pop and it took me a full hour to reach level 6 as a result
- I got my directions turned around at the start and forgot I had to check in before killing boars, lost me about half a minute
- The peons weren't being lazy
- I had to establish a grinding route on the fly and didn't have much context as to how much I should be killing along the way - this lead me to needing to end the run with a ~30 mob grind and adding ~15 minutes to the tail end of the run
- I forgot to set my hearth to Razor Hill! This lost me ~3 minutes
The Neutral/Questions for bchat:
- Do you grind in the valley of trials until you hit 6?
- Once you get your primitive hachet, do you keep using that or switch up to the worn battleaxe until you can buy your replacement 2h'er in Razor Hill?
- Do you pick up throwing knives at some point (as a warrior) for ease of pulling?
- I wish I had overpower
Additional Info:
- I was playing an Orc Warrior
- I did use Joana's Guide but turned in Encroachment early (The guide has you turn it in post-10)
- I ran on Northdale
Open to comments/questions/suggestions on how to improve.

I have no idea mate... However, here's a video of one of the most popular private server warriors doing warrior things from 1 to 12. He got to 10 in about 1:40. Hope this helps.Escalotes wrote: ↑6 years agoThe Neutral/Questions for bchat:

Edit: Just had a look to see what he does to 10. It has to be noted that he got a rusty hatchet drop in the starting zone, and then a green 2hander on the echo isles. So take his time with a pinch of salt. However, I guess the video can still be beneficial.

@Escalotes good effort man - loving the notes you've added in your post!
