LFG/LFR alone can be slotted into the convenience factor. Not having to go to the trainer for spells, also convenience. Automatic flight paths based on level, convenience.
But those aren't why the game sucks now.

Well... having class trainers just standing around, being useless, not actually training anyone, is part of why the game sucks, but it sucks because it makes no sense, not because of convenience. If blizz removed all of the now-useless class trainers, that would be an improvement. Likewise, LFG teleporting you to places you've never been to before and can't find on a map is stupid and makes no sense, but the BC version of the group finder was just fine.
LFG/LFR Teleporting, done for convenience, has turned the game into an Action MMO Game.

Not having to visit the class trainer, done for convenience, removes immersion/roleplay factors of the game.

Also getting a mount is possible at level 1 now, for convenience, which completely removes immersion/social/roleplay aspects of the game. It also makes the game much much smaller and linear feeling (like the other changes).

The game definitely has some serious amounts of suck due to added conveniences to the game. A large part of what makes Vanilla/Classic enjoyable, are what some people would deem inconvenient. Having to walk until level 40? Having to go to the trainer every 2 levels? Having to travel across continent and contested/enemy territories on foot to reach a dungeon/raid? These would all be deemed incredibly inconvenient in todays' retail WoW, but are endearing and a loved part of the Vanilla WoW experience.

Wouldn't be surprising. I imagine they're going to add some sort of store to the game at one point or another later on, maybe even in just a year.

It's Activision afterall.

That claim is idiotic. Teleporting has always existed in WoW (remember mage portals?) and has nothing to do with the genre. RPGs are defined by their functional character-customization options. WoW's functional character-customization options were always weak compared to games like D&D, and the only major loss of such customization in WoW was when skill trees got replaced with Pandaria's skill tiers.

LOL no it doesn't. Going to the class trainer every 2 levels isn't role-play. It's a chore, like picking herbs in my garrison every morning. Roleplaying is player-driven. Creating a macro that causes your character to yell "Om nom nom nom!" when you use the Forsake cannibalize ability is roleplaying. Donating gold to level 1 female night elves dancing on mailboxes is roleplaying.

Hahaha no. The mount was a reward for collecting 35 heirlooms. It had nothing to do with convenience, and mounts don't affect immersion or roleplay.

Maybe Classic isn't the game for you @Black Monarch? If you are worried about walking to the trainer, or upset you can't get transmog in retail from classic drops, you may have a bad time. Did you play vanilla?

I'm not. I've specifically cited the uselessness of class trainers as one of the reasons why modern WoW sucks.

I have nothing to contribute to this discussion. I basically just came to this thread to see @Selexin and @Stfuppercut put aside their differences in order to flame @Black Monarch.

It seems like the people with the biggest opinions who also offer the largest propositions of change are also the people who know the least about the game or have the least experience within the game. There is some sort of correlation but I cant quite put my finger on it...

Selexin isn't flaming me, though. We're just discussing the finer points of why modern WoW sucks :)

No. Gold is actually worth something in Classic. I'd like to keep it that way, if possible. I realize gold sellers and bots are going to exist, but that's Blizzard's problem to solve. The token makes sense in retail because A) people are rich beyond imagination and B) Gold isn't very important in retail.
There will be always bots and people that wants to make money on game :)
Especially because WoW Gold is worth more than venezuelian currency :D

WoW Tokens are a good way to manage gold sellers IMO, I definitely have gotten plenty of gold seller spam (protip block chat channel invites) since playing.
I don't feel strongly one way or the other though.

I’d love it if they added wow tokens. I’m honestly surprised that they didnt microtransaction classic to kingdom-come in the first place. When Daybreak did Everquest’s TLPs they milked the hell out kf them with large bags, exp pots, their version of WoW Tokens, many were upset but they def made money

Daybreak milked customers with micro transactions and they claim to have made 55 million dollars on Everquest the year they did Lockjaw/Ragefire; many players were upset about the micro transactions and there were many 20+ page threads. But, in the end, Daybreak made a ton of money.

I'm assuming you were confused as to what I meant, rather than being confused by their business practice.

@almarsguides, confused by your acceptance of gouging your market with micro-transactions, when you are charging $15/month to play.
