My leveling pace is pretty terrible, only 27

Increased leveling rate private servers spoiled me really bad, now I get bored pretty quickly

First night in PUG MC only about 6 pulls in! Going well. Probably just a rep farm / trash run but we'll see! Some of the raid is not 60 and not a full group. Tons of guys wearing SM gear. One ret pally with https://classic.wowhead.com/item=7723/mograines-might. hahaha

UPDATE: 3 bosses down. Turns out Classic is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY easier than private. Way easier. Way. Way. Way. Easier. Still going - no wipes. Most notably Flame Imps. They dont matter. We accidentally chain pulled imps 2 times, and it was negligible. I'm not sure if their dmg was too high on private or their HP, but they are so inconsequential in Classic. Accidentally pulled 4 giants, also negligible.

UPDATE 2: Skipped Garr and wiped right before baron with a bad pull. Everyone is SO upbeat. The guys are incredibly pumped to be raiding again haha! So much fun! I've never seen so many happy dudes during a wipe. Noticing the pulls are very different than private... The way mobs path and which mobs chain and which dont. Definitely causing us some grief. Having low level guys in here doesnt help, but hoping we can get a few more kills.

UPDATE 3: Baron dead and he dropped a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=18564/ ... windseeker , grats Rush - human warrior Fairbanks! World first??? I havent been following drops.
https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/com ... ding_drop/

UPDATE 4: We were at Shazz...We needed repairs and were debating if we should dry run it before getting repairs... Decided to go for it. Tanks messed up. Lost 1/2 the raid instantly. The other 15-20 guys killed Shazz with relative ease. Not a single person in raid has full pre BiS. Not one melee has dal'rends set. No one in this raid has done UBRS yet. None. So far my reflection is that pservers were off... WAY off... But not in the way a lot of people insinuated. Private was WAY harder than this. I dont want to give an arbitrary percentile, but at this point I would say this is at least 30-40% easier based on my own anecdotal experience.

UPDATE 5: Someone in our group was streaming and the horde found our layer and wiped half of us on the way back to raid after repairs! Its almost like layering doesnt exist! But it does... So we will either win or we will just split the raid, switch layers and wiggle a few guys past them and then reform and summon. No need for layer cowardice, we won. Back to the raid!

-intermission, in an effort to bring more people we are waiting for a handful of guys to be ran thru BRD lava jump for quick MC attunes-

UPDATE 6: Harbringer dead, all bosses 1 shot. 2 full wipes to trash.

UPDATE 7: Golemagg dead, and his debuff wasnt stacking? We stayed in the whole fight. It only stacked to 1 or 2 and would slowly wear off. None of the melee had to go in or out for the whole fight. This may be less accurate than private? Meh, beats me but its less fun thats for sure! Still my fave game of all time tho!

UPDATE 8: Died on Garr! Congrats Garr, youre still relevant!!! Also our communication sucked. But youre still relevant Garr. Our first boss death with this rag tag team of SM geared lowbies. Hah.

2nd death to Garr. One offtank wearing https://classic.wowhead.com/item=3785/keen-axe and https://classic.wowhead.com/item=13081/skullance-shield for Garr adds.

3rd attempt we swapped it up, 1 warrior per add. No more DPS warriors =( . Your boy tanked with a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=3990/crested-buckler as a level 59 warrior semi-successfully... ....... Bahahaha. Garr died, and unfortunately we never arranged for douses because this was only supposed to be a trash farm run with lowbies. And so ended our PUG MC trash run composed of 8 different guilds, a handful of lowbies and a handful of empty raid spots.

Summary
Overall I am underwhelmed. The game needs a good tuning. People shouldn't be tanking in grey items and SM gear and clearing MC. This is not authentic. Whether the values are accurate or not, the experience is far from vanilla. Disappointed. To cap off the night I hit 60! Mixed feelings about the whole day and big questions for the game... Was this really how it was? I can imagine that my time on private has likely skewed my expectations but some of these mechanics seem to be entirely missing. This is not how I remember vanilla, but it may just be my memory.

In quiet contemplation I shake my head in disappointment at the #nochangers... I had said the game needed to be tuned up since the moment it was announced. Yet all of that productive discourse was smothered by adolescent screeches "no changes, no changes". Well, this is the hand we were dealt. Still my favorite game of all time, just the raid finder version.

@Stfuppercut that’s unbelievable. I raided in vanilla and remember wiping on all those. 4 golem pulls. 2 imp group pulls.

Something smells fishy here. Not sure if pservers were the ones off or if Blizz accidentally made the raids a cakewalk.

Main tank wearing scarlet chest and a bunch of random level 40 blues. All dps warriors except one wearing SM helmet. I've never seen so many carrot on a sticks. To be clear, no one on this raid team has done UBRS. Not once. I cant express how poorly geared this group is.

Gallow has hit 32 yesterday! Execute rank 2 does wonders in PvP. I'm sure https://classic.wowhead.com/item=6975/whirlwind-axe plays a huge role in this, but I was 2-3 shotting clothies all night long yesterday.

I started SM runs, mainly to get the full Scarlet set. One of my major goals is to get a full set + scarlet tabard. It is in my mind THE MOST iconic set for Vanilla (mainly because I didn't play shaman/warrior during vanilla, and I was always so jelous how amazing their gear looked compared to my silly cloth gear). I don't even care if I have to sacrifice getting my mount a tad later, I need those set pieces!

I also reached just shy of 20~ gold. At this rate I may have around 50-60 gold by the time I reach 40... or maybe not. I still don't like the rare undead mount looks tho. I may grind for a wolf instead. An undead on a wolf (or maybe a raptor...) looks so daunting to me. In my mind anyone who is that badass is a force to be reckoned with! Mainly because Forsaken is the only race that starts with Neutral rep with other Horde factions instead of Friendly.

So I will be doing some SM runs till I reach 40 or even beyond that, they are quick and relatively easy. None of those melee cleave aoe farm bullshit, just the regular good ol tank and spank. I'll also do some STV around level 35, and visit Alterac Mountains / Arathi Highlands. Some good quests there!

I'm still loving Classic so far. Haven't even started doing Blackrock areas yet - which are easily my favorite dungeons of all time! Can't wait.

This was what both of us suggested before launch. Buff raids mobs health and damage by 20-30% and see how it goes. They didn't. We're 1.12 patch characters in 1.2 content.

Grats on 60 and your successful MC pug, sounds like a lot of fun, and almost certainly much too easy! Get any loot?

No loot unfortunately, but the guild got some nice pieces so it was a big win.

Massive congrats, that is huge! Drop rates seem a lot higher than private?! Today alone we had a Myrmidons Signet, Boots of avoidance, Wardens staff, Plans: Lionheart helm and the epic skin off of the beast in UBRS. There were probably a few others too, but damn, it seems like a lot of these drop rates are WAY higher on Classic. Its not just us either, a lot of other guilds on our server have been noting the same thing. Could just be us BSing, but we are consistently getting flooded with quality loot.

I've run scans on my high/full pve realm from a completely empty database, so it would only be off by "whatever amount of players logged on/off during a 30min period" which would also cancel itself out.

I've seen counts in excess of 15k just for alliance side

Now granted my realm is likely 60/40 Ally favored but I'm inclined to think that Realms reach capacity (= show queue) at closer to 30k players.

Re: difficulty.

I'm not yet in raids but I passed the mid-point and doing some of the instances at Uld/ZF range things do feel off.

My working theory if this holds up, is that if they are being truthful that their "reference" client and data was found in some TBC backups
(and it's not just embellishment to add some "flavor" to an otherwise geeky story)

They might be using as a comparison point the "state of 1-60" as it was in TBC pre-patch or early BC.

Because what I'm seeing now in instances is exactly what I remember them feeling like going 1-60 with alts in BC.

I was taking it very slowly so far. I wanted to enjoy the levelling ride the best I could. Apart from that I also had to study the first week of launch quite a lot so I couldnt put much time into it anyway. Right now I am lvl 38 and closing in on the sweet lvl 40. Still gotta do a lot of gold farming until 40, right now I am at about 50g but with that lvl 40 spell costs I gotta get much more. I dont expect I would have enough money to buy mount right away but hopefully pretty soon after that. I had a lot of fun so far as well as some unpleasant moments including one where I realized I am kinda getting annoyed by a irl friend of mine after all that time spent with him grinding, lol.

Thank you ! , it certainly feels more rewarding yes, yesterday a guildie got Staff of Jordan drop in SM cath trash !!! AND another guildie got Crusader enchant formula in less than 2h farming (its worth 500g in our server ) !

So this feels fishy indeed. Like yeah, we know how to play the game better and itemization and specs etc. etc. etc.

But something has to be super off for it to be this easy, with this gear. I'm kinda worried.

I used an in-game addon (CensusPlusClassic) that does /who breakdowns (adds qualifiers until it gets less than 50 results) and adds them all together to count unique characters on a realm for the faction you're running it on.

I dunno dude, maybe have a word with the https://classic.wowhead.com/npc=2351/gray-bear - I get the feeling https://classic.wowhead.com/item=3476/gray-bear-tongue only occurs in albino bears based on the abysmally low drop rate.

I was level 48 on friday...but I decided to quit the game.

I'm very unhappy with the game, it's not WoW Classic for me, but something else that doesn't give me the Classic feeling back. I had way more fun on private servers.

So ye - I am out of classic wow.
Could you elaborate please? I am curious to hear a different view on the matter.

Thank you Peon! You asked good question... I want Dreadsteed so much (which is not free, cheaper but not free) but I also want Epic as soon as possible, but on the other hand cos of layering, no bgs, getting epic mount asap is not such necessity and that gold could go into some bis items already... I dont know to be honest. I am leaning towards getting items 1st and if I get good roi through AH flipping I will buy mount during Phase 1 then ofc get Dreadsteed, if not I will patiently wait for Dreadsteed.

Taking sometime to report my progress!

As undead I ran to barrens because my friend is a troll priest so we can level together.
Left barrens and went to Stonetalon and i think I finished all the quests there!
We did WC and ragefire, looking forward to the weekend to do SFK!!
One of my favorite dungeons!

I am 25 and 1/2 at the moment and heading to thousand needles!
125/150 tailoring
200/225 skinning

8g at the moment, spent money on skills/abilities, a wand on the AH and about 2 gold on wool to level tailoring

Can't wait for level 30 when I can get Siphon Life!
But really want level 42 for Death coil and of course mount!

The pace has been slower than i wanted but it still has been really fun!!!
Sometimes I find myself helping others finish there quests even though I completed them!

EDIT: Also leveling with a warlock has been so much easier than my Priest in Vanilla, but that can also be because i was an idiot and never usded my wand and didnt know what i was doing lol

Either way I have been enjoying Warlock as a class and feel very strong while soloing because i have a few oh shit survival tools to get away!

lvl 53 now, need to be 60 by next monday to raid i think it is manageable, i just keep stopping to gank horde on my journeys and levels are taking a bit longer than i like, but its apart of the rogue life =)

When the hunted tell tales of Gondar, none are sure of which are true. In whispered tones they say he was abandoned as a kit, learning his skill in tracking as a matter of simple survival. Others hear he was an orphan of war, taken in by the great Soruq the Hunter to learn the master's skill with a blade as they plumbed the dark forests for big game. Still others believe he was a lowly street urchin raised among a guild of cutpurses and thieves, trained in the arts of stealth and misdirection.
