- attempt to log in
- repeatedly fail
- finally be able to choose Atiesh
- There's a wait to get into the queue
- finally get to the queue. It's only 5 minutes, whatever
- character creation screen, yay!
- all 3 names I want are available, yay!
- look up
- i'm on MANKRIK. OMG WTF WHY AM I ON MANKRIK?
- delete all 3 toons and log out
- attempt to log in to Atiesh again
- there's a queue for the queue again
- actual queue is 5 minutes again
- Character creation screen again but this time I'm on the right server
- All 3 names I want are available, again!
- Celebrate with pizza
For those of you who lost out on claiming "Legolas" or "Huntard" or "Mohawk" or "Maleficent" or whatever because there were 50,000 other players all trying to reserve the exact same name, you have my sympathy. The rest of us would like to thank Blizzard for providing a truly authentic Classic experience.

We wanted the authentic classic experience - there isn't a much more authentic experience then sitting at a login queue ![]()
Now comes the realization that we still got 2 weeks to go.

That's lovely and all, but you had me at Mankrik <3

Got in fast & someone already had my main name I wanted. 30 minutes to get my other two names. i feel pretty good & now I am a Classic player on Pagle.

For some reason in 10 min I gotten my nickname on 3 servers (I still don't know exactly where I will play).
The internet gods has spoken to me yesterday.

I also made a character on a wrong realm thinking I was on the right one, thankfully I realized that pretty soon ![]()

It's funny, we're on the internet, yet we are in line!
Instead of showing a number and loading Queue on the screen, they should show us literally in line behind 500 people and when people leave the line or get in we move forward

| Nýxt - Affliction Warlock | Kirtonos PVP | Level 60 | =-|-= | Awkaran - Resto Druid | Kirtonos PVP | Level 27 |

I had similar experience.
-Log in (probably the first 100 to get in)
-Create character and choose name
-Get error that Only players who already have character on the realm can create one.
-Message says that for like 5 mins (I pressed ok and then tried again over and over)
-Get disconnected after those 5 mins
-Gets put in 10k+ queue
-Get in, name is taken. Notice that it put me on Mirage Raceway server for some fucked reason
-Switch to Golemagg, another 10k+ queue.
-Name taken
Fucking pissed, goes to bed.
Wakes up and log in and take "Erik" but with accent. So final character is Erìk.
What pisses me off is not that I didn't get the name, but what pisses me the fudge off is
that they were not prepared even though they hyped this and EVERYONE in any forum
or social media said that there are too few servers. If they had been prepared and not fucked
up I and alot of others who patiently stayed up to reserve a name would have gotten the name
we wanted.
Ten Storms EU Alliance
Finnigan - Dwarf Hunter Lvl 30
Portalmaster - Gnome Mage Lvl 19
Shaelur - Dwarf Paladin Lvl 22
Shaelus - Night Elf Druid Lvl 50

Of course they weren't prepared, because this was the real stress testErik wrote: ↑7 years agoWhat pisses me off is not that I didn't get the name, but what pisses me the fudge off is

I got in at 3:00 in a queue of around 30 people, and then I got kicked and it proceeded to make me wait until like 3:35 to get in, fuck Blizzard and all their bullshit.

Of all my friends, i'm the only one that DCed on the load in :( RIP Time, i'm now Times, and i'm so salty I could kill all the nearby freshwater fish

Not necessarily. If more than one person wants the same name then only one person is walking away with it no matter if the login went smooth as silk or if everything is on fire and there's a mile long queue out the virtual door. The fact that the name was taken within a several minute period meant somebody else was also chomping at the bits trying to get the same name. It still would have been a tossup even if there was 0ms lag and no queue and everybody tried clicking submit at the same time.
It's just more frustrating if you didn't get it and you spent time staring at a long queue.

This same thing happened to me, but I wasn't able to reserve one of the names I had hoped for. I'm a bit miffed, truthfully.

Can you update your signature to: "Times is on your side"
Thanks.

Yeah, this is what a lot of people don't understand. For all I know, the only reason why I got "Foodbank" was because the 50,000 other people who wanted the exact same name were all stuck in queues much longer than mine.Pippina wrote: ↑7 years agoNot necessarily. - Waited till I got home from work, 8 hours passed after realms opened.
- Got home, switched on computer, windows 10 update installing after I did everything possible to stop windows update last week.....
- Windows update caused really slow computer start.....
- Finally desktop loaded, loaded up battle.net....
- Computer froze.....
- Restarted computer, more windows "update" malware crap...
- Finally loaded battle.net and Classic WoW
- Got straight onto Arugal PVP server
- Got the name I wanted WOOT!
- Closed Classic WoW
- Looking online for pirate copy of Windows 10 for no more updates......

You can disable the windows update service. Windows 10 has been automatically re-enabling the service even after you disable it in services.msc for a few years now, but this is all being done by scheduled tasks and the windows update repair service. The nanny overrides which flip the windows update service back on even after you disable it can be removed. Disabling the windows update service prevents Windows from just updating itself. Disabling it lets you manually turn it back on and manually update when you want to. This way no more surprise updates at the worst possible timebusterford01 wrote: ↑7 years ago- Waited till I got home from work, 8 hours passed after realms opened.

Yeah I already did that but I still notifies me that and update is waiting to process and can not get rid of it. I even followed youtube tutorials on other methods to disable updates and blocking them through firewall and many other means, it does not work. Windows update is the biggest Malware sham ever. Im just going factory reset my PC back to its fast original state and install a pirate copy and never have to worry about updates :) My PC is only 2 years old and is acting like its over 5 years old, its not fair. I still have a window 7 pc that runs beautiful because I switched off updates and looked after it. The only thing windows updates are deisgned to do is to force your PC to age without your consent, to force you to keep buying microsoft products on a regular basis.Pippina wrote: ↑7 years ago

Shit like that is why the last copy of Windows that I purchased was XP x64 Edition.
Nuke your Win10 computer's hard drive and install Win7 on it. Jeez.
