None Naxx
The guild I was in, fell apart after AQ20.
Have played every expansion since, quitting at some point during each of the last 3.
I missed the opening, which is a huge disappointment. One that I don't intend to replicate in Classic :)

Are you me?

Might be. I've done some interesting things while drunk. Cloning myself could be one.
Do you also intend to finish it all this time around?

Noble intentions, clone. I don't think I will be able to, unless I find myself in a guild that is perfect suited to play time/availability/flexibility.
Also, I think I did end up killing Nef before BC, but it was when I took my friends mage to play, joined a random guild who had him on farm, and went and cleared BWL. I don't count it though, cause it was probably patch 2.0.0 (Pre-TBC patch).

I actually started with my own account in 2.0 pre-patch... so I am not sure if that counts as vanilla or not.
I had made several characters during vanilla on a friend's account when I would come over and visit. Usually just random warriors and other classes and kill a few starting NPCs... sadly I never was able to really be apart of the real vanilla. My early days were the beginning of TBC, which, in the beginning really did echo a ton of vanilla in regards to minimal UI changes in 2.0 compared to the end of TBC at 2.4.3, and leveling rates not being reduced, mounts still at 40, etc. So when I played on Nostalrius (up to level 46 only), it did bring back a lot of memories since the leveling was the exact same as I remembered it.
This brings back memories. I think my friend's install discs which he lent me were patch 1.6 when I installed the game. This was early 2007 and I proceeded to have to install all the way up to 2.0 which went in major patches to 1.10 -> 1.12 -> 2.0. I didn't even get to play that night because the downloads too so long.

January/February 2005 Vanilla. Only got to 47 on my Dwarf Hunter during Vanilla though. Only seriously played in WotLK and got to 80 on a DK, raided Naxx, Ulduar and ToC but not ICC - kinda got bored by that point.

The first time I heard about WoW was from my friends(I guess it was Cataclysm time), but I started to play WoW only in Sep 2012, so it was MoP prepatch. It took the whole MoP for me to choose a class I like(panda/monk) and level a character up to 90lvl(meanwhile I went to the siege of orgrimmar with my giuld). Dreanor was a time I really started to explore the game(really liked the plot of Spires of Arak and epic Ashran battles(the most interesting timekiller at that time)). Liked Legion, but I did not play it a lot. BfA is good too(played it only at the start, rerolled to human/priest).

Vanilla day 1 stress test. And before that I was reading about WoW in gameinformer magazine. I saw a picture of a gryphon flying over elwyn and dreamed of getting to play in a world where flying like that was possible. I loved how the game looked from all the pictures, and the whole fantasy behind it. And I was heavily playing wc3 the frozen throne at the time. So I couldn't wait to play it as soon as it released.

I started in mid-late vanilla, my dad got me into the game. He was a hardcore raider through vanilla and TBC. Me, my brother and my dad all shared the same account. I remember my dad being way ahead of me and my bro. He was max level, clearing raids, epic mount etc. He would pay us to work for him, if we did BG's on his character to rank him up and get him honor he paid us 10g per mark so 10 for a loss and 30 for a win, that was an easy way to get my level 40 mount.

EU, like second week after launch, my younger brother (avid fan of the RTS) dragged me in.

I started playing Vanilla in April 2005. I raided until the release of Naxxramas which I did not bother with at all and a bit during Burning Crusade but played WoW casually for every other expansion.

Started late vanilla, did 1.5 years of TBC, most of my friends started playing xbox, so that took me away. never reached max level nor did any raiding. come to think of it, I never even saw Outland... ha.

Started in early days of Vanilla, main: Mage!

Thought I posted in this thread.
Started I think Feb 2005 or Jan 2005 can't remember.
My friends started on release as Horde, wanted me to play but I wasnt about the Dungeons and Dragons type games (I didnt give it a chance).
I watched my friends play the game thought it was stupid lol
I was too invested in Counter-Strike 1.6 at the time too be bothered with WOW and my friends and I played FPS for the most part.
I read the game manual and got a little excited about the game and decided if I was going to play I would be a Priest.
Then one day I brought my computer over to a friends house to LAN and was given a free trial key...first character was a Dwarf Priest.
Walked over to the guy with the exclamation point on his head, accepted the quest and started smiting wolves...stopped playing cs 1.6 that day lol
I was so hooked on the sounds, art style, colors, spells and the game as a whole.

2007 but never made it the end game until wotlk. i honestly feel bad for people who started playing later on due to the fact they never got to experience both sides of the game. blizzard certainly drove away from their original design intentions either for the better or the worse. good thing we will be getting both soon :D
