Given we know that Layering will be implemented into the early days of Classic, I'm still expecting the first few days in popular race starting zones to be pretty congested and potentially difficult to complete quests playing Solo Only.
Obviously this issue becomes less of an issue so long as people naturally opt to party up with others.
Some people have tried to suggest it wont be a problem given their experience on PServers, but I'm skeptical of any experiences based on those given operators of those servers have free will to change or implement mitigation methods that wouldn't follow the 'no changes' mantra, like dynamic respawning.
If i remember, Vanilla didn't have dynamic respawn rates.
Edit: As posted by Tec: Vanilla did have dynamic respawning.

Vanilla did have dynamic respawn per Kevin Jordan.
I do wish elwynn forest people good luck ;)
First hours will be critical to get ahead of the curve, but it won’t be too terrible I don’t think.

Damn! Was keeping this video in my back pocket for layering debates. You let the cat out of the bag! interesting to think about though. Such a clean and polished version of dynamic respawns that we hadn't even realized it was there. Imagine shitting on pservers for all of their inaccuracies but then dismissing dynamic respawns based on the version we seen on private, as if Blizzard couldnt make a better version... Of course Blizz would make a better version of dynamic respawns! A well polished version of dynamic respawns would have been a VERY quality and Blizz like experience. Better than the alternative, that's for sure...

I don’t mind the dynamic respawn, I just wish it applied to loot quests tooStfuppercut wrote: ↑7 years agoDamn! Was keeping this video in my back pocket for layering debates. If you read around the web, so many people deny it ever happening(still) yet 2 out of the 3 vanilla makers confirmed its there alright. I think it came as a shock to many “purists”. For all the private servers fault, dynamic respawns is not one of them

It breaks their perception of what the game was. So spooky! People would rather cover up in terror than look at the reality of the situation. The #nochanges movement did a lot of damage to the player/developer relationship and stifled a lot of conversations that could have/ should have been had. You cant reason with a bunch of players screeching "no" so you dont bother trying.
Yes, yes and yes.Tec wrote: ↑7 years agoI think it came as a shock to many “purists”. For all the private servers fault, dynamic respawns is not one of themhow they work is another case, but the fact it’s there is not. Kinda makes you wonder exactly how similar private servers and the actual game version was, because one thing I found from playing the beta is that things seems to die much quicker than on private servers. Also the loot seemed to respawn a lot faster, for the quests that is.

I suppose it does, but that's not accounting for the wait time between someone tagging mobs and the actual respawn timer being set. That's likely where the frustration and the bulk of the additional wait time was.

Yea I think even with layering there will be lots of people all hustling to get in. But having a long queue time is part of the classic experience!

I'm just gonna not be in a hurry. It was pretty funny to see so many people massacring all of the wildlife during the stress test last time. I think the key is going to be to group up and be prepared to take things slow for a while.

If the situation will be unbearable I will just go around talking with people :D Aside from that I can't wait :-)
