Looks like they've enabled paid character transfers.

 Blizzard Entertainment
Paid Character Transfers are now available for players in WoW Classic who are looking to relocate their characters to a different realm within their region. There are a few things to keep in mind before you take the leap into making a home on a new realm.

Each transfer has a ninety-day cooldown.
Gold transfer limits specific level ranges are as follows:
Level 1-30 can transfer with up to 100 gold
Level 31-50 can transfer with up to 500 gold
Level 51-60 can transfer with up to 2000 gold
Characters cannot transfer from PvE realms to PvP Realms and RP realms cannot transfer to RP-PvP realms.

Ready to make the move? You can find the Paid Character Transfer service by launching WoW Classic and clicking the Shop button on the character select screen.

I am actually liking this. I am considering switching to a more casual friendly server :)

Just have to find out which that could be :)

This is great. I'm not going anywhere because I'm really happy with the guild and raid team that I'm on, but if I wasn't running with these guys I'd be moving to a PVE server. I'm glad people have a a chance to migrate on demand now.

I prefer PvP servers but my past experiences have never been anything even remotely like Classic Phase 2. I would most assuredly transfer over to PvE if that had become the norm.

How you could be going into this, picking a PvP server, and not expecting what happened to happen is beyond me.

Mitakes were made

Lots of us ended up on PVP servers not knowing what special kind of cancer they were going to be in phase 2.

Don't get me wrong, I keep saying this:

I enjoy world PvP. I enjoy brawling for fun & I enjoy brawling for resources, be it Rich Thorium Veins, Frostmaul Giants, Elementals, Devilsaurs, Firewater, you name it. I would participate in a resource war any day! For the Horde!

But this was not world PvP, it was organized griefing. It has taken people as long as one and a half hour to reach Strat from Lightshope Chapel, it has taken people as long as 2 hours to get to BRS or BRD from Thorium Point or from Camp Mojache to DM. That is not PvP, that is holding the server population hostage.

This is pretty much fixed with the release of BGs.

People aren't farming world kills anymore now that they can rush AV for 20k honor per hour.

I’m not saying I enjoyed that, I’m saying I expected it. ;)

I didn't expect anything else because all large pserver released have been exactly like this (but then also during the levelling part because rank 3 before level 40 is another -10% mount cost that stacks with reputation discount :D)
But most people in my guild were not expecting how cancerous trying to get into MC was going to be. There were even people who stopped playing because of it. I can imagine people who didn't play on pservers and weren't actively looking up youtube videos of the classic community didn't see it coming, and honestly you can't really blame them. The honor system in Classic creates a special kind of toxic behaviour, especially when BGs are not around to honor farm.

Because many of us played on PvP servers previously, enjoyed them thoroughly, but did not have experiences that were akin to Classic Phase 2.

The only people who did not expect this happening during P2 on a PvP server were people with no prior private server experience. It was hilarious watching Reddit cheer up for true OG WPvP experience in between farming mats and attending raids while everyone with minimal common sense was preparing chokepoints, leveling engineering and figuring out how to raid with PvP specs.

Transfers ruined my server. Went from a 55-45 H:A ratio at 2.5k lvl 60s to 60:40 A:H ratio at 5k lvl 60s. It's not the population imbalance that tilts me cause Alliance are shit at PvP but the fact that FL took my comfy realm and just sperged it. Only hope I have now is that they will hinder entire guilds from moving and people will quit by AQ.

So probably the vast majority of players. Keep in mind that - starting off - we might have been looking at an estimated maximum of around 250.000 PServer players vs. about 3 Million Players that have not played on PServers. Excluding the "real" casual player, we should be looking at around a million and a half active players now. (Census has recorded 1.14 Million characters in the past 2 weeks, but its holiday season.)

So even if all of those Private Server experienced players haven't quit, they are still a minority.

Second largest alliance guild left Fairbanks this week. Another smaller guild is leaving too. Still looking to see if any other guilds flee with paid transfers. Apparently you keep your PVP rank when you transfer, but you lose all honor for the week. This means Tuesday resets are going to mark the next waves of people buying their way onto "better servers".

Server transfers are stupid. I'm all over the place on this. Yeah I'm happy people can buy their way off servers they don't like, instead of quitting. Yeah I'm happy that I can move later if my server goes full Flamelash at some point. But my server is home, and I don't want to see people leaving it. Kind of breaks my in-game heart a little seeing guilds running away. I don't think we're losing enough guilds or players to make a big impact on the server. I hope not.

What a fantastic game this is to draw us all in to this level of emotional investment though. I feel a real connection to this virtual city full of people I've never met, but who have familiar names. I've cared more about guilds leaving my server leaving then coworkers at my job leaving the company, lol.
