@JokerdTV was kicked out of METHOD for ninja looting a staff while raiding in MC.
Method has been made aware of the situation that recently occurred involving Method streamer and WoW Classic Influencer Jokerd.
In response to Jokerd's actions, namely his offensive and unsportsmanlike behavior, we have removed him effective immediately from our Twitch Team, and he has been suspended from Method pending further investigation into the future of his contract as a WoW Classic Influencer.
On behalf of Method, I want to apologize to our fans, sponsors, and community. We feel let down by his behavior, just as many of you are.
Respectfully,
Shanna "Darrie" Roberts
General Manager, Method

No he was just a complete ass on stream about it. Direct quote below:
"Who do I think I am? Let me tell you who I am. I am world first level 60 in fucking classic wow. I can do whatever the fuck I want. You think I'm a random player? You think I'm a fucking random player? Let me fucking clue you in bitch. I am the the guy who had 350 fucking thousand viewers playing this fucking game. Me, not you. The most views ever on this game. The first guy to hit 60. I can do whatever the fuck I want."

Literally living so many peoples dream. Get to play the video game all day AND get paid for it? YES PLEASE.
Oh no wait, I'm a toxic asshole and have no concept of "brand" so now I'm going back to obscurity and eventually I'll have to get a normal job...

ahh I see. Than, yeah he violated probably a clause of his contract.Sikeo wrote: ↑5 years agoNo he was just a complete ass on stream about it. Direct quote below:

I don't know why he has that mentality. "I'm the first 60, I'm European so I can do whatever" it's lame. Really disappointed as a fellow classic / wow player.

Eh. Who cares. The staff is trash. MC is being completed by thousands and thousands of teams every week on every server and stuff gets ninja'd all the time. This matters to people because its attached to a public figure. Why would I be disappointed in Jokerd??? I don't watch streams... And I certainly dont invest some level of trust or bond in a streamer when I do watch a highlight or whatever... So it doesn't make me upset or disappointed when they mess up or behave in a shitty way. There are no qualifications to becoming a streamer. The guy flicked on a camera and shared screens with the world and he accomplished something amazing. That accomplishment doesn't mean that he is a quality individual or that he has character. Hes just good at leveling. Im sure thats all he ever wanted anyone to know. Are we really surprised that he ninjad a garbage item in a garbage raid tier? Who cares... Just watch a different stream.
"But no, I want justice! This is outrageous!!! How could Jokerd destroy my image of him?!?! He was supposed to be better than this!!!"
Relax... The guy can level fast in a game thats 15 years old. Hes not a saint. Hes not a role model. Outrage culture. Just stick to your own bubble and play the game if you enjoy it. If you dont enjoy it, stop playing and find something else to do.

I feel like it is part of his identity to be the ultimate troll. Still baffles me though that he would give up a method sponsorship for that staff

I largely agree with @Stfuppercut's assessment on this, this is the one part that just seems idiotic and worthy of a head shake. Otherwise, it's barely worth a mention.

I really don't get why so many people care about this, or any streamers in general... Is he a jerk? Sure. Should I care? I don't think so.. hell I hate that I watched 2 videos about a mage breaking down his duels mistakes and now my YouTube is flooded with asmongold reacts video suggestions..

Not necessarily that we care but it is just a shitty situation. Not only did he ninja loot but then continued to harass other players. Which i believe was why he was kicked.Hinien wrote: ↑5 years agoI really don't get why so many people care about this, or any streamers in general... Is he a jerk? Sure. Should I care? You guys really don't understand why this is interesting to people? Or is it just satisfying to be able to say to others "Pfft, why should I care, he has zero effect on me whatsoever?!" and turn your nose up. It's pretty fucking obvious why this is an interesting story, lol.
People care for the same reason that people rubberneck in traffic when there's a 3 car pile-up. I don't think anyone is pulling out their violin over this, it's just simply interesting news. The fact that someone who accomplished something so great and got taken on by the biggest team threw it all away over a fucking MC staff is insane and cringetopia all in one.
Shit's hilarious.

But, if you read on Reddit "MrRandomGuy ninjad this item on last raid" or "jokerd ninjad this item last raid" there should be no difference. Instead everybody talks about one, and nobody.cares about the other.. that's what's baffles me.
What I mean is I dont understand why people find this interesting ONLY if it happens to a famous person.

Just really confused about why so many people talk about this when it happens so many times, on all servers, all times. He didn't ninjaloot thunderfury..
I could get that there are people that spend time on his stream, maybe even gave him money, only to find out he did something they considered morally wrong. I can get that those people are interested in the situation and understandably angry. But why so many people have to express they indignation only because it happened to a famous person?
It's like being happy because Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married. You happy for that? good for you! i just dont get it.
Sorry :(

Its not about him, or any other streamer that steps out of line, being famous, its about them being influencers. Streamers/influencers gain their revenue by entertaining masses; its a job like any other, and as with any jobs you are bound to have certain responsibilities. For some, laws and regulations are in place to physically protect consumers, while for someone like me, i am bound by certain laws and regulations protecting people that I advice professionally within my field. Influencers are part of a recently emerging business model that lacks proper regulation, so you only have social norms and contractual obligations to go by.
Good influencing can be to simply entertain, or facilitate or explain topics within a specific field, most streamers entertain which is fine, others teach us lore or guide us through content, which is also fine. But you also have cases where you break social norms such as JokerD did; he ninja-looted and had quite negative rant, and from a consumer perspective then he broke the social rules of the game, and verbally assaulted his client base. If i did this in my work, i would be hurt financially, and be opened up to litigation. For JokerD, he naturally has to face repercussions himself.
Professional streamers perform a job, just like anyone else and considering their compensation levels, then I think its perfectly fair to demand certain standards, so if you cheat, exploit, break social norms, abuse or otherwise break the furthest limits of professional conduct, then yeah, there should be consequences.
If you ask me at least (and you didn't, I know)

It could have been anyone, he just did it in front of thousands. If I happened to be on someone's stream that had thousands of veiwers and then continued to ninja loot and harass others I would get slapped too. Ofc people are upset of the ninja looting but I believe most people had a problem with the harassing of others.Hinien wrote: ↑5 years ago

I mean.... yes. It's not that it's satisfying to say "I don't care". It's just that I don't care. I suppose even replying to this thread indicates that I do at some level, but really I would just like for you to understand that there really are a massive amount of people who really don't care about the actions of some stranger who has zero effect on me whatsoever.pan0phobik wrote: ↑5 years agoYou guys really don't understand why this is interesting to people? Yeah I hear where you're coming from. I understand why people WOULDN'T be interested or give a shit etc... I just found it shocking that people couldn't understand why it WOULD be interesting.Telvaine wrote: ↑5 years agoI mean.... yes. It's not that it's satisfying to say "I don't care". Okay that's fair. There are plenty of people (like my wife) who don't understand why I can find WoW interesting, and I consider them close-minded fools. Point taken lol.pan0phobik wrote: ↑5 years agoYeah I hear where you're coming from. I understand why people WOULDN'T be interested or give a shit etc...
