They're called warriors. :( It's hard. Unless you get lucky with weapon drops (I don't), or spend money on the AH (I won't), you need someone to keep you alive or the grind is awful.
And on a PVP realm? Forgetaboutit. Group or die.

Those damn groups, socializing and playing the game together. How dare they.
Sorry I just found it funny how you tell people grouping up and playing non-solo to go back to retail which is a solo game. Sounds like retail is for you. Should check it out.

I say we pool our money together and fund an MMO that is developed by Monarch, Duki and Gnoll to see what they come up with. What we lose in our investment, we will surely make up for with the joy of seeing their final project. I like to think it would look similar to one of those little toy monkeys that bangs cymbals together, but their monkey may just fling feces.

booohoooo people are interacting in my mmo... this is cheating... this is dumb... waaaa waaaa. I wanted Classic for the community but now that small groups are forming and people are interacting I hate it! I want everyone to solo quest and be anti social like meeeeeee.
God forbid we have that "5 group mentality" which would translate into TEAMWORK, in Classic.

I could get behind this, but only if we can find a way to force them to actually make the game.Stfuppercut wrote: ↑5 years agoI say we pool our money together and fund an MMO that is developed by Monarch, Duki and Gnoll to see what they come up with. I'm finding plenty of people to play with. The issue is, they're all lower-level than me, so I'm always the one helping them with stuff I've already done.
JollyResolve6 wrote: ↑5 years agoand the fact that you're referring to anyone better than you as "no-life poopsockers" and anyone worse than you as "retail scrubs".

Did you not read the OP at all?
haha, yes, that was something that I had to explain to a few of my guildies: you cannot complete non-raid quests when in a raid group. That hasn't changed in the past 15 years.
Nah, my guild is great! They're just unable to help me with anything because they're all lower-level than me.
Yes, there are. And 99.9% of them don't speak up in zone chat.
Then you haven't seen anything I've written.
No, I'm invoking a meme for comic effect.nochanges2 wrote: ↑5 years agoI love how this guy have a black and white vision of the game:

How much money do you want to lose on that bet? You can also pay me in game time.
I know. I'm one of them. I just got done collecting 80 dragonmaw shin bones and breaking them to find 8 sturdy ones to trade for a pair of pants that wasn't any better than the pair I was already wearing, but which looked better with the rest of my armor. That was after running a guildie through Shadowfang Keep... twice.nochanges2 wrote: ↑5 years agoSome people aren't "retail tourists", they are just taking their time and enjoying the game like they used to do back then.
I have literally never watched a single second of anything on Twitch, nor had I even gone to their website prior to two weeks ago. I think you need to STFU and stop making idiotic and wrong assumptions and accusations.
Because WoW fell off a cliff when Warlords happened, and Classic is the only sane, officially sanctioned version of WoW in existence. And also because it'll be worth it when I get Ashbringer.
Mine would be more or less "Cataclysm, but with Old Naxx, individual weapon skills, and all the other stuff that got cut out or made unavailable between 1.4 and 4.3, plus fight club, pokeymans, and account-wide everything."Stfuppercut wrote: ↑5 years agoI say we pool our money together and fund an MMO that is developed by Monarch, Duki and Gnoll to see what they come up with. I have no idea what Gnoll would make and I've no idea who Duki is.

Similar garbage that no one would play. Duki would want prot paladins to be able to tank, otherwise he would be pretty negotiable. Gnoll wants airdrops, boat battles, housing and some oddball wPvP events. Overall I think it would be a good blend of everything people hate about retail so it would probably end up looking a lot like BFA.Black Monarch wrote: ↑5 years agoMine would be more or less "Cataclysm, but with Old Naxx, individual weapon skills, and all the other stuff that got cut out or made unavailable between 1.4 and 4.3, plus fight club, pokeymans, and account-wide everything."

Except what I said was absolutely nothing like BfA and has none of the things that make BfA (and WoD/Legion) an unplayable pile of kraul guano.
I'd probably let Gnoll do whatever he wants with PvP, since I don't give a shart about PvP.

PvP probably has too steep a learning curve if your 1 key is bound to auto attack.Black Monarch wrote: ↑5 years agoI'd probably let Gnoll do whatever he wants with PvP, since I don't give a shart about PvP.

The game's obviously not for you, don't know why it should be everyone else's concern.

No, I've PvPed before with some success. It just doesn't interest me because it's like playing "Command & Conquer: Sole Survivor" with the world's worst possible interface on a computer that hangs for 5 out of every ten seconds.rijndael wrote: ↑5 years agoPvP probably has too steep a learning curve if your 1 key is bound to auto attack.Black Monarch wrote: ↑5 years agoI'd probably let Gnoll do whatever he wants with PvP, since I don't give a shart about PvP.

Unfortunately this is kinda where I'm at. Roll on Incendius @OP if you want, I guarantee there is always people on.

I have a level 32 Alliance on TenStorms (EU PVP) and I can honestly say that all zones I ventured through were absolutely amazing with amazing people. The community on that server is top notch. There are very extremely rare moments that there are "Twitch fan boys" in the chat but that lasts for about 5 mins before they get bored (noone feeds the trolls). Even if it's a low realm (medium on peaks) it seems "full".
For those mature players who are looking for a mature server, I'd recommend TenStorms for EU PvP.
Unfortunately all my IRL friends rolled Skullflame EU PvP on Horde so I had to reroll, this server also has less twitch fan boys compared to bigger realms and no queue. Again on this server no zone has felt dead or filled with people who have no clue what they are doing. Everyone is helping and are friendly.
YOU on the other hand should quit this game and go back to retail.

I'm a very longtime veteran who could of easily been one of those rush to 60 poopsockers you speak of.
Have played on a handful of private servers I SHOULD of been one of those guys. Sure I was worried about being left behind. Now I'm just casually strolling along and enjoying every bit of it.
I can easily point out the retail tourist from the casual vet, sure. But it doesn't stop me from having a good time and completing something that's challenging.
Hope you stick around the game really opens up when you hit 60.

Still very excited with my adventure. I am 43 right now, just parked in Swamp of Sorrows to do a few quests there.
Soon enough i will be 50+ and have to think of my end game spec and where to play; current guild is formed out of vanilla mates (we redid the old guild) but it’s pretty inactive.
Also enhancement has grown on me a lot. Not sure how my 60 spec will be now.
Just passed the aoe/farm SM groups tier, cool! The AH is a bit iffy with all the 1-stack nonsense but i have my 40 mount. If i can get 2/300g before i get to 60 i will be satisfied. That epic mount’s not coming any time soon.
Lok’tar ogar!

Yeah I noticed that last night. There has to be some fuckery going on with addons right now because everything is being sold on auction as stacks of 1. I wish there was a way to click a bunch of things and then click buyout for a group, because right now it's like 100 clicks to buy like 30pcs of something. I needed a few levels of first aid last night so I tried to buy some cloth on the auction hall, but it took like 5 minutes buying every single piece of cloth individually.

Meh it's long been a thing on retail for some mats, since at least Cata.Pippina wrote: ↑5 years agoYeah I noticed that last night. Well, the population problem has cleared up. Groups are running Dun Morogh much more frequently than when I posted this, and I've escorted a few groups through. I also tried questing in Desolace for a little while due to the fact that none of the sub-40 quests in Alterac Mountains or Arathi highlands give any rewards (and because, even combined, they just don't have enough quests), but Desolace is even worse than the Barrens. Desolace is like someone took Barrens, put a ring of mountains and high-level mobs around it, and then twisted it into a spiral shape, so that everything is technically closer together from a bird's-eye view but there's twice as much running. And of course nobody is there because it's just pure goddamn cancer.
Then I went to STV and holy crap, it's MUCH better. There's like a dozen quests at every level. It's so packed that it still has players competing for quest mobs and driving them into extinction. This was also the point at which I became EXTREMELY grateful to be on a PvE server, because the alliance outnumbered the horde here by at least 5 to 1. It's still not as social as the level 1-20 zones were, but it was a huge improvement over my Hillsbrad experience. At the very least, the zone chat was active enough for players to reveal that the reason why they didn't like forming groups of more than 3 people was the fear of diminished XP. I eventually got up to level 36, with every remaining quest in STV being 40+, at which point I headed back up to Arathi to do some long-overdue quests like "To Steal from Thieves".
Guild recruitment has slowed. We hit a peak of 90 members and are now down to 82. A lot of people got peeled away because they have real-life friends who are starting their own micro-guilds. New recruits are hard to come by because everyone who's a decent level has either already joined a guild or refuses to join one until they hit 60 (basically the same reason why the dating pool sucks at an exponentially increasing rate as you get older), and I have better things to do at this point than continue running noobs through the Agamand Family Crypts two weeks after all the serious players did it.

It's stuff like this that gets people on your case..
The game is two and a half weeks old.
There's people that didn't even start in anticipation of queues and launch issues.
There's players that enjoy the game but cannot no-life leveling.
"Serious players?"
If you don't want to boost people don't, categorizing players as serious or not based on their leveling speed is a shitty attitude though.
