Flask of Supreme Power is a Classic item but the recipe for it requires being exalted with the Keepers of Time, a BC reputation, which you can only get by grinding Old Hillsbrad and the Black Morass, two BC dungeons.

Blizzard added the flask recipes as a nice thing for people to grind rep for in Outlands instead of grind Azeroth dungeons for.

^ What Linguine has said. It's best to search items on wowhead by going to the classic version (classic.wowhead.com) because those are the most reliable ones. Of course some of them may still have information left from after vanilla, which should get weeded out eventually by user reports.

The real pain is not in getting the recipe, it's getting the mats usually in a highly contested zone with other herbalists plus you can only make them in Alchemy Labs. That is in BWL or scholomance !
I was a a herb/alch and I loved that when making flasks I needed to be in Scholo or BWL!
That element felt amazing to me, really made me feel like a chemist!
These things made Vanilla something special, sure its annoying sometimes but so is insta-gratification...
