
I have bought a new domain for TextCraft which is: www.text-craft.com
So the past weeks while doing my web developer studies i've been working on a side project, in the start it was just supposed to be a text based RPG game, but as it started to fletch out and grew i felt that i could make this into a basic version of vanilla wow. Or well atleast over time.
This is my new time consumer while waiting on Classic Wow to come out.
Currently i only have one class working (kinda) since i started reworking all the classes this morning. I update it daily and should have atleast 3 classes playable by the end of this week.
If anyone is interresed in trying it out and giving feedback on what could be cool to have in the game then the link is here:

Everything saves so don't worry about closing the game. You can always jump right back into it.
I personally have no idea if it even belongs here, but thought it would be cool with some ideas to add while working on it. If its not allowed on here then i'll take it down.
To do list:
- Add Classes. 2/4 playable classes, Warrior & Rogue. Mage & Hunter will be added in a near future! Plans on adding all classes later.
- Update area names. #Check
- Increase creature table. #Check
- Implement working quest system.
- Create gear table / loot table.
- Optimized inventory.
- Add proffesions (Mini Game).
- Create Map.
- Create travel function (Gold fee?).
- Leaderboard (Currently working on it now).
- Implement zone chat system

Cool idea, i have had same interests and i know html/php and even some python and C#.
I played some, and it seems that when killing spiders the quest did not update, i killed 2 and you have the quest saying you to kill 7 spiders, i was in the spiders nest. Maybe something you havent completed yet, or maybe a bug.

The quests isn't done yet sadly, it's one of my next working points after getting all the classes done. So far i only have the skeleton quest out for testing purposes.

after playing to level 8, can it be that if you die there is just a black screen

It's supposed to say try again, kinda like hardcore mode, you die you lose and start over. Still deciding what other options i can use, depending on how far i take it i will make a respawn option that cost something (Exp or Gold). But so far you die you lose and have to restart.

I have added some rather big updates to the game that makes it way more enjoyable to play (in my opinion atleast), more variety in creatures, dynamic created mobs, and a few more spell/ability options added!
To those who have played before, it would most likely be a good idea to reset your character since the new system lets you get to level 60 instead of 10.

Can it be that the warrior is bugged? The Rage fills really slowly and then drops really fast. First fight was against a lvl 3 Monster and could not generate more then 4 Rage

After some testing:
Can it be that the Rage that is generated is not Added to the rage that is already there? I get around 3-9 Rage per Enemy hit on me.
So if a enemy hit the Rage locks like this;
Attack 1
4 Rage
Attack 2
3 Rage
Attack 3
6 Rage
Attack 4
2 Rage
Attack 5
3 Rage
Attack 6
9 Rage
If those numbers would add it seems okay but they get replaced

I also looked around http://www.boxcode.dk/ and saw that you have a typo at the bottom:
"We ofcause won't forget about functionality on your website."
I think it should be:
"We of course won't forget about functionality on your website."
But English is not my fist Language so maybe i am wrong ;)
Also on http://boxcode.dk/about if you scoll down al the way and then back up the top menu disappear (Chrome) and on Mozilla it disappear when scrolling down.

Haha the rest of boxcode.dk is a bit messy, it was a school project i had after my first 4 months of studying as a web developer, the typo's are there indeed, even my girlfriend and her mom has pointed it out, just never got to fix it since im planning a complete remake of the website. Also let me know if you have any cool ideas for the game since I really love getting new ideas to add, got a big spreadsheet with all the ideas so far where i add them.

@Defuzed would love to try this out but I can't enter my name in the field because there is text overlayed on top of it. Display bug in Mac OS X Safari.



Oh I will look into this as soon as I can, haven't checked the comparability for other browsers than chrome and Firefox so far sadly.
Hopefully I can fix it tonight.

@teebling could you do me a huge favor, since I don't have a Mac I am unable to see how it looks on safari. So i would ask if you could possibly send me a screenshot of how the page where the bug occurs looks?

I tried moving down the class selector divs with margin/padding but even when they're out of the way visually I can't click the <input> for the character name so something else going on there :)



Oh yea i see that's a real mess.. Since i can't sit and live test on safari right now it will be hard to come up with a good solution but what i can do is put the z-index so the input field should get fourced out infront of everything. I'm uploading a new version right now, also seeing if i can fix the borders to show on safari.
And doesn't work with margin since the classes still take up the layer in front of the input even when you move them with margin. The margin/padding is just transparent :)
EDIT: I just uploaded a new version that (I think) should fix the majority of the problems.
EDIT2: Uploaded another version again since i just learned that safari acts different with flexbox than other browsers. (May have fixed the class boxes issues)?

The z-index brings it forwards yes but the text field isn't selectable. Not sure why though.
I mean tbh for desktop Safari not many people use it so... chrome/ff is fine right. But for iOS safari that's a huge browser on mobile if you want this amazing text game to be available to as many people as possible!
Edit: can select it but can only type one character in.



@teebling so i found the solution for the input field, but sadly while uploading my host stopped responding on my uploads so I'll have to wait for the upload to fix itself before it'll start working for you.
EDIT: For once they fixed it quick and it's up and running again, you should be able to write in a name now and the classes should appear abit more organised now (on safari). Hopefully you can try it out haha :)

This is actually amazing. Must have taken you a long time to put everything together!
I like the leaderboards and the combat text. Really something special you've put together here. Have you posted this to reddit yet or will you do it when it's more stable/fleshed out?
