I was curious when they announced WoW Classic, how many realms they are going to open for people. I was trying to seek but unfortunately didn't find anything. Do you have any informations or sth? What are your opinion about it?
Greetings! :)

Sadly, they've not announced anything regarding the number of servers for each region, their names, types, etc. The only thing they recently mentioned was that they have no plans to announce an RP-PVP server at launch. There was a bit of backlash regarding that, so I wouldn't be surprised if they end up changing their minds before summer. A lot of players were concerned with the time investment required for classic, stating that adding a new realm later would prove pointless as many would have already been working on a character on a normal RP realm and wouldn't want to move, and also expressed concerns that non-RP players would rush to the server for the "F R E S H" aspect.
Anyway, I also hope we have news in the future so people can begin planning what server to play on, guilds, etc.
On a semi-related note: I really wish classic's launch would be an end of WoW's segregated realm structure, but alas, it won't. I have friends in both NA and EU I like to play with -- and Nostalrius as a home for everyone across the world. I personally am very sad we will have segregated regions once more. I wish we had the option to switch between NA/EU severs if we wanted.

Thank you for your reply, I can't disagree with this in first paragraph.... WoW classic has something that I want to feel my character, create his own sotry. I love to see his progression about changing the item or getting the mount, and WPVP is one of the best thing in Vanilla so it's kinda weird why they want to open RP-PVE but not PVP :(Henhouse wrote: ↑6 years agoSadly, they've not announced anything regarding the number of servers for each region, their names, types, etc. The only thing they recently mentioned was that they have no plans to announce an RP-PVP server at launch. Regarding to the second. I know what you mean, something like in Path of Exile, but in my opinion it won't be possible. They won't create it. They'll do like in original wow. You create your character on this realm and there is no way to comunicate with other.

I understand why you want this but it probably wouldn't work very well and people could find ways to abuse it with regards to ninja looting (just jump servers after you steal rare drops and no one will know on their new server) or events like opening the Ahn'Qiraj gates. Your identity and reputation on a server is also important and a part of what makes classic great, if you are one of the only players who've done a certain raid, people will recognize you or if you are one of the only people who can craft a certain rare recipe, people will know this and seek you out. It adds to your character and the ability to switch servers (along with server change and name change which were not a part of classic) take this away.Henhouse wrote: ↑6 years agoOn a semi-related note: I really wish classic's launch would be an end of WoW's segregated realm structure, but alas, it won't.
