Hey Guys.
Are there any content creators you could recommend? I like watching some Classic related stuff, but since I am usually trying to stay away from youtube and co I have no idea who may be worth watching. So far I have seen some stuff from preach (very enjoyable in my opinion, but not that much Classic content) as well as madseasonshow (no bullshit as far as I can tell, but rather boring to listen to).

I’m not a huge fan of video content but there have been a few threads here focused on old vanilla vids/content creators so they might help you find someone cool

I really enjoy Tipsout but I feel like that's a bit of a homer pick.
Classic Winds has some good content, especially his 1-60 on nothing but boars challenge.
Frosdamus has a lot of good fan content, although his accent can be a bit difficult to follow from time to time. He makes some damn good Hype Videos though.

Thanks for the links and suggestions; I will look into that. Not utilizing the search function is a bad habit of mine.

I really dislike how he took all of Hurricane's vanilla videos, mashed them together and added generic WoW music to it. He didn't create those videos at all. If you haven't seen the originals, please give them a look.

There is a few I enjoy, but it's mostly recycled content now.
You could check out:
- Kargoz (YouTube videos and streams)
- Classic Winds (YouTube videos)
- Platinum WoW (YouTube videos)
- Og_jeffery (Twitch streamer, World PvP and tournaments)
- Lymetel (Twitch streamer, PvP streamer with the sexiest minimalist UI I've ever seen)

I particularly like his profession overview videos. They have a lot of useful information to consider if you're not sure which professions you want to go with.

Personally I find most of the Classic cast line up to be dull and grating to my nerves outside of StaySafe.
Here are the content creators I follow
Countdown to Classic
Wowcrendor
Frostadamus
Classic Winds
Kargoz
Mizoto (I dont think he makes videos anymore tho?)

Vikernes - Human Warlock - Arugal
I had no idea this was a thing, thanks for the info! Going to queue those up for today :)Henhouse wrote: ↑6 years agoI really dislike how he took all of Hurricane's vanilla videos, mashed them together and added generic WoW music to it. For more recent content, I'm a fan of the Countdown to Classic podcast: https://countdowntoclassic.com/

I recommend all content creators that aren't streamers as I find all the streamers incompetent in their information as they're all in a race to push out as much fake-hyped content as possible.
Frostadamus is great i've been watching his videos since the early private server days. He's a OG and has a lot of great casual advice.
Ohhgee Haptix Gaming is a Mage PvPer. He's another OG that i've personally played with in the past who has great tips on PvP.
Staysafe is perhaps the only streamer i'd bother watching if you're looking for advice and game knowledge. He's more of a hardcore raider and PvPer and is a OG on the private server scene. I've played with him personally on Nost.
Defcamp & Melderon TV aren't half bad. I sometimes have their podcasts in the background.
Classic Wind's is decent entertainment overall.
Keep a eye out for WoWcrendor, Lazypeon, Nixxiom, etc. as they're great personalities and will be playing Classic so im sure they're have a lot of funny content out. (They're more entertainment than informative which is the intention.)
Rule of thumb if there is a video on youtube called "TOP TEN -Insert random WoW related topic- YOU MUST KNOW" type of videos they're generally clueless about the game and are just reposting shit they see on a forum. I've seen Tip's out guides that are copy and paste from a 2x Private server guide for example. So if you want solid information from content creators then the ones i've listed above are pretty good.
I recommend though joining a theorycrafting discord and funneling questions there or on forums like this. You will find more unbiased answers there and here in my honest opinion. And since it's a forum/Discord it's easier to debate topics aswell.
https://discord.gg/sAz6Jz (This is Taladril's Theorycrafting channel) A lot of knowledgeable sperglords on here.

I cannot believe Hayven channel hasn't been posted. I really liked his perspective and the tone of the videos. One of my favourites was the Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.
RIP Hayven

I tend to disagree about streamers being worse content creators. Obviously there is cancer in both, but in my experience streamers often have more interesting content as they dont try to maximize clickbait/monetizing but just upload whatever they are allready doing. Again, this certainly doesnt apply to all of them.

I personaly like Esfand and the Classic Cast. I can not stand Tips out because he always seems cocky to me. Staysafe is also a cool guy.
Manofwar
Kampfzwerg

For Tank in-depth guides I recommend Skarm Tank. Some really interesting topics are reviewed on his channel.

Yeh he is the only content creator I really watch, I find him very genuine/funny and also quite knowledgeable with the game. He is doing a lot of variety streaming while waiting for classic, but he is doing ClassicCast and videos about Blue Posts in the meantime. He is moving into a share house with StaysafeTV, Asmongold and Rich Campbell in Austin Texas, so I imagine there will be a lot of content coming from that house for Classic WoW.
EsfandTV Twitch
EsfandTV YouTube

Uffff i mean Staysafe is really cool but Asmongold (and his follower) i can not stand. He acts like a 16 year old that think he know everything better. Also his rages are just cringy.
Is Rich Campbell the Commentator of the WoW arena thing?

Yeh Asmongold is very hit and miss, he did seem slightly more mature recently, but I don't know if that will continue.IronBrutzler wrote: ↑6 years agoUffff i mean Staysafe is really cool but Asmongold (and his follower) i can not stand. Yes Rich Campbell is an eSports commentator. Although I don't think he is contracted to do Blizzard work anymore.

I find it hard to like any particular content creator to do with classic as they are all in the race to push content out to get the view$
But I can't say I haven't watched their videos. The countdown to classic is really making me anxious and I want to be prepared for anything so I use their videos to have something in the background while I look at the sources of their information
That said I enjoy watching old pvp videos from time to time, accompanied by newer (private server) videos such as;
Vurtne (Mage)
Pat (Warrior)
Grim (Rogue)
Kishkumen (Rogue)
Drakedog (Warlock)
Goth (Warlock)
Perplexity (Rogue)
Greatwizard (Mage)
Edit: Adding a few more because I just remembered them
Stormx (Shaman)
Monkeynews (Warrior)
You can also watch some raid clears, speed run guilds etc.
Vanguard
Nope
Grizzly

Theres this guy called "I Am Alive TV", doesn't have many videos or subscribers yet because he started his channel soon but deserves a chance, might wanna check him out.
As for the already established ones, well they pretty much all got mentioned above already. In my opinion though Kargoz makes the best, most informative and professional videos. Frostadamus comes second for me, really chill and makes good videos too.
The three guys from the ClassiCast kinda have that "HYPE BEAST" attitude thanks to Twitch culture and i personally go there for entertainment mostly because i think there's better sources of useful information about the game. They are cool dudes tho, never fail to entertain me, especially Esfand haha.

Ohhh how could i forget Swifty, he is in the same category like Grubby. Always fun to watch and both are just happy people
