Hey Evoe! Sounds like you’ll be a popular tank during levelling wih that plan  Does raid tanking not appeal to you in terms of fun?

Hey there! What a nice forum! To answer your question: I'm a rather inexperienced tank, always been playing ranged dps. Also not sure if I'm able to hit that 100% attendance for being a tank. I'm also not the shot caller type usually so being just fury dps/OT will be enough. I'm currently practicing warrior leveling on a pserver and I'm really liking the playstyle after playing ranged dps for so long. Hamstring-kiting ftw.

I've rolled warrior on my horde char once and I wanted to try fury. I bumped into a recruitment officer of one guild while we were doing a Stratholme run. I was tanking and he told me that they needed an off-tank and that I was kinda good at it in his opinion, so I tried it and had a blast. Eventhough I enjoyed it a lot, I realized that it wasn't the best role for me I liked the occasional need of being the one in charge and what not but after some time I didn't like the fact I had the typical tank responsibility. You have to know the fights through and through even from other roles perspective and not make any mistakes. I like having some room for silly mistakes and dont tryhard from time to time. Thats why I would go fury if I were to play warrior again. You will have to occassionally off-tank anyways so you wont miss that experience as fury.

Paladin or Druid.

PvP healing is a blast and allows you to turn the tide of battle.

I will probably roll Druid or Shaman, play them as melee (at least pre-60), with self healing and travel form/ghost wolf for a smooth experience. I have played both classes before so in a way it would make sense to try Paladin (melee/selfheal etc.) but I just don’t feel it when thinking about Paladins.

I plan to play multiple classes eventually. But first I will level my Dwarf Hunter to max level. After that I think I want to play a priest again like my first character on an EU server.

First, I wanna make myself a huntard coz I really like the petsystem: How you actually have to go and learn the skill you want and not just go and pay up to a trainer to get it for your pet.

Second, I wanna make myself a holy priest coz I am curious about how to heal in Classic. I've mained a Holy Priest since retail MoP basically, and wanna see if I can actually heal in Classic or if I will just give up after killing my friends multible times haha.

Druid. I love the feel of the class and I've always mained druid. I'd like to play balance since it's the spec I'm most familiar with but I want to PvE. But all in all, the lore and whole atmosphere around the druids is amazing to me.

I'm still on the fence. I've played Mage for most of my time playing WoW in total, whether retail or vanilla private servers, and I know the class super well, but I'm weighing other options. I've leveled a feral druid last time I played to any meaningful extent on a private server, and I'm interested in playing one, but also thinking about shaman.

Additionally, part of my class decision is based on whether or not there will be TBC after Naxx or Blizzard will develop additional content for vanilla. Because I'd play the shit out of an elemental shaman in TBC and that spec is, sadly, not particularly good in vanilla outside of PvP.

I've played all of the original classes and without a doubt, the Warrior was the fun! Thus, I will play a warrior! I might roll a shadow priest one day too.. we'll see ;)

I started off as a holy priest but then rolled a warrior. Had a ton of fun tanking, and it's really easy to find dungeon groups, so I'm going to roll a Warrior again. In the past I've only rolled Undead or Tauren warriors, but this time around I think I'm gonna go Orc. Seems like I've been missing out. :)

Hunter so I can don a bitch ass smirk while I run past everyone below lvl 40.
Hunter so I can sic my pet on people while I kick my feet up and eat pizza in shadowmeld.
Hunter so I can ask in general chat why everyone else is leveling so much more slowly than I am.
Hunter so I can roll on every item in the game.
Hunter so I can track my enemies when they rez, so there's no escape.
Hunter so I can eaves drop on everyone in the zone with eyes of the hawk.
Hunter so I can solo dungeon bosses.
Hunter so I can kite world bosses to the main cities like it's just another day at the office.
Hunter so I can tell people they shouldn't have brought a knife to a gun fight.
Hunter so I can shoot people with a crossbow while simultaneously doing backflips.

UD Frost mage. I was a Troll mage last time and generally stuck with POM Pyro spec because it allowed me to 2-shot even the best geared and highest-rank players in the game....every 3 min.

I plan on leveling a priest and going holy at 60. All of my WoW experience in the past like 10 years was PvP only. Want to see some raids and I want to try a healer out :)

Either Hunter or Priest. Preferably Alliance.
If so, Human Priest for SPI, and NE Hunter for AGI.

I played Vanilla from day one of EU release, during TBC and later on several private Vanilla servers.
I always had trouble deciding on a class, so I twinked a lot.
What felt like a curse back in the day helped me to get to know each class, their advantages and disadvantages.

Now, with Classic around the corner the decision is easy for me:

Druid (with a 1/29/21 hybrid spec)

+ Druid lore
+ Your own class zone (Moonglade) and https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=18960 ... -moonglade
+ No downtime during leveling due to the ability to regenerate mana while fighting in https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=768/cat-form or https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=5487/bear-form
+ Forms to deal with almost every situation while soloing and to travel faster
+ Water breathing in https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=1066/aquatic-form to do some otherwise annoying underwater quests
+ Gathering herbs without switching out of forms
+ Being able to perform any role in dungeon groups, especially tanking - or being the wild card (dpsing, off tanking, off healing)
+ Buffing, healing and rezzing other players
+ A mix of melee and range attacks
+ Hots and dots
+ Crowd control (https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=339/entangling-roots + https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=2637/hibernate)
+ The most efficient healing spell (https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=5188/healing-touch)
+ https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=5215/prowl to sneak past mobs and other players
+ Excellent preraid tanking gear
+ Being able to heal (and off tank) in raids
+ With the right (hybrid) gear being a force in PvP, especially in 1-on-1 situations
+ One of, if not the best flag carrier in WSG
+ Some of the better looking tier sets
+ A high skill ceiling, but once you get the hang of it very rewarding to play
+ A class to fulfill all needs (melee dps, range dps, tank, healer) and to end almost all twinking desires

Did I already mention druid's and especially this spec's amazing versatility?
Oh, I did? Damn...

Shaman

Going with a Shaman for Classic. I was planning on playing one at Vanilla launch, but I made one during the stress test beta and had a last minute change-of-heart after throwing a few thunderbolts and thinking it was going to be more of a straight-up caster class. Ended up going with a warrior and had fun tanking and in PvP, but I messed around with a Shaman for a while on a private server earlier this year and had a great time with it. Loved the huge number of totems. Felt like I had something to offer in any situation.

I think I'll be going with Tauren instead of my original pick of Orc though, just because I ended up relying on war stomp a lot during the pserver days and as tempting as Hardiness is (or the rarity-factor of being a Troll), I feel like I'm going to miss war stomp too much to drop it. Also I feel like Mulgore might be (marginally) less slammed on launch day than Durotar, but that's minor.

I had tossed up a PvP Hybrid spec for leveling/fresh 60: http://classicdb.ch/?talent#0zZxGMssbdLVecoco
I do prefer full feral though, something like: http://classicdb.ch/?talent#0zLVhoZxGMsfbdtV
I raided through vanilla as HotW/NS: http://classicdb.ch/?talent#0ZxTMscbdxVecoco
Here is a spec I have theorycrafted a bit: http://classicdb.ch/?talent#0tMx0MxoZZxvcoMaV (it's an odd one, stacking crit, raid healing with down ranked regrowth and HT) I would like to see this one in action. Probably not brave enough to try it though.

HotW spec is quite viable for raiding. Stack intellect on every piece, with some MP5 thrown in for good measure, and spam Rank 4 HT all day. I topped charts regularly, huge huge mana pool. I was happy to give my innervate to priests who weren't smart enough to stack MP5 heavily.

I am excited to level and play my druid at 60. I would love to be a bit more hybrid/pvp focused, if I can master the playstyle and get the right gear setup going. I do like the direct dmg output of pure feral though, so it will be a change.

Paladin at launch because Prot pally dream is strong. Gonna rank him to 13 aswell. Played paladin since the dawn of time and I can't break the curse.

Mid-Classic i'll start my Orc Warrior and rank him to 13 most likely and gank my guildies on ally.

I'm going to be playing a shaman as my first character through classic. I main'ed a holy priest through vanilla and want to experience something different. I'm expecting to have either a druid or warrior as my leveling partner so we should have some fun world pvp opportunities.

For leveling a full feral spec is alright - I just wouldn't want to be full feral at 60, but that's just personal preference.
I think there's room for at least one dedicated feral per guild, but those will end up tanking and (with crazy amounts of effort) DPSing most of the time - and that's not what I want.

In PvP I think it's hard to justify LotP over NS - to me a big instant heal is much more valuable than a negligible higher crit chance.
I also consider cat (damage) being lackluster in PvP - at least as long as people are smart enough to not let you get in their backs.
Insect Swarm on the other hand (which you get for just one talent point) adds nicely to the pool of sneaky druid damage.

Regarding 1/29/21 - I'm still unsure how to spend all of my talent points, especially in the resto tree.
You either focus on being more raid viable, but then compromise your PvP survivability and vice versa.
Tough choices.

Hm, not sure about your crit healing build as I don't have much experience raiding as resto druid - I only heard that Regrowth is not very mana efficient.
I think I'd rather go with a Moonglow spec, but then - just give it a try and see if you can make it work...

Night Elf
Hunter

I've boiled it down to Night Elf hunter because of their autonomous nature, class fantasy and fond memory of playing the pet system in Vanilla. Being in a time and place right now where I have lots of RL commitments and responsibilities the autonomous nature of the Hunter enables me to get the most out of this time, while also being able to pull my weight in groups/raids, at least up until Tier 1 difficulty.

It then boiled down to Night Elf & Dwarf (I'm an Alliance player by heart, so the Horde is ruled out). This was a tough choice to make. Eventually it boiled down to my preference of Shadowmeld + Cat, which I'll be using for PVP. Lorewise, Dwarves match better with Engineering than Night Elves (Gun specialization also helps when leveling and engineering), but in the end that didn't push me enough to choose Dwarves.
