Had the honor of getting a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=17204/eye-of-sulfuras and MLing it to one of my paladin officers tonight. We dont roll rets in raids, but he will have fun with this piece in PvP. We run a DKP system with a few items on loot council, so I was happy to reward his hard work outside of raiding. I didnt know this guy 4 weeks ago, and now I consider him a friend. Not going to lie, as a warrior (despite this being pretty bad for warriors) it was hard to loot it to him at first hahahaha.
Of course within about 10 mins of getting the item, he went and vendored it for a quick screenshot (to a vendor that is moving during a period where our server was having lag spikes)
This is how I know I gave such a powerful item to the right person... He bought it back and plans to build it over the next month. Congrats Daghet (Fairbanks Alliance).
Got to say... For only a month into Classic and seeing a binding and now an eye we've either been on a lucky streak (probable) or Classic drop rates are higher than private.
UPDATE: Daghet completed his hammer build on October 20th. It took him about 2 weeks to complete.

I resent this and feel personally attacked. As a warrior, this will be vastly superior to any weapon I'm likely to see. :D

If only https://classic.wowhead.com/item=17076/bonereavers-edge didnt exist =(Steerclear wrote: ↑5 years agoI resent this and feel personally attacked. As a warrior, this will be vastly superior to any weapon I'm likely to see. :D
I'm actually considering running a slam build for raids leading into phase 3. So I will be slamming with https://classic.wowhead.com/item=19169/nightfall and periodically swapping to BRE. As an alliance warrior, 2 hander builds sort of suck (no windfury) but someone needs to wield nightfall and it wont be a Ret paladin haha. This leaves Hunters and Fury warriors. Given how early we got this Sulfuras Eye we will probably have a bunch more drop throughout Classic, but I'm conflicted if I would ever take one, even as a 2 hand warrior.
If I were a ret pally, I would probably still run BRE. But as a Spelladin, you are vastly superior for PvP than ret because you are FAR more suited for a team. You are desirable. And spelladins WANT that sulfuras hand spell damage proc, it is godly for them. You wont sacrifice much healing and will still yield some pretty great burst numbers. You will also be running a spec that is competent for healing but can still be used in raids. Due to all of these factors, it made the decision pretty easy.
Regardless who gets this item (sulfuras), I dont really plan on seeing it in raids. So this is more of a talking piece or a guild banner.

Honestly, I'd use Nightfall. It's still a strong enough weapon at the end of the day. I can just close my damage meter and be happy with my numbers.
In Magical Christmasland, I'll one day wield a BRE, but before then, I'd be happy with the old https://classic.wowhead.com/item=18822/ ... dged-blade. Used one in Vanilla and housed the meters.

Level 47 here.
REALLY getting tired of the spellcleave runs i accidentally join with my mage because they're not announced as such. I really don't want to pull the entire ZF graveyard and wiping yet another time because of a few overconfident group members. I just want to run a regular dungeon and have a good time doing so.

I dont think a lot of these groups are tracking their xp per hour. The tolerance for mistakes is very small. As a melee cleave, we tracked our xp per hour and if we wiped even once, our hour was shot. These cleaves are not valuable as pugs. The group needs to be in VOIP and on point. I'm really not sure why these groups became common place. A strong quest route will yield consistently higher xp per hour than an untrained spell cleave pug.
This is especially confusing because Jokerxd showed us the potential for solo aoe grinding as a mage. I mentioned during the pre launch that this had the potential to be the fastest route to 60 IF someone could consistently violate layering, and Joker was able to do exactly that. If I were leveling a mage, I would be taking advantage of layering while it still exists.

I'm trying to reduce the exposure I have to random PUGs at this point too. Just frustrated with lazy DPS, melee characters who have an unspoken agreement to never attack the same target, mages who AOE before I even get to a pack of mobs, DPS running in and attacking a group of mobs that I've already pulled and am waiting to arrive during LOS pulls.. All different issues, but still annoying. I started adding every good player I've found in PUGs and then I make my own groups as often as possible. I try to pull from a list of known good players. Things just go smoother this way and it makes for a more enjoyable experience. You should try to do the same.disco wrote: ↑5 years agoLevel 47 here.

Yeah but you know this because you're extremely plugged into the game and knowledgeable. You know what is valuable, you know what is efficient, and more importantly you know who to pay attention to for information. This goes back to why I didn't think this game would be as easy for everybody this time around as you thought - for you, guys you run with, even myself and a lot of people on this forum the game is easy. We know what we're doing. We know where to get good information, and again probably the most important skill of all - we all know how to screen guides and information and tell if the information is crap.Stfuppercut wrote: ↑5 years agoI dont think a lot of these groups are tracking their xp per hour. There is a ton of bad information about Classic floating around. So many poorly written guides. I've seen you complain about this too. The signal to noise ratio is pretty awful. Throw in new players and players from retail who are used to the AOE everything gameplay, combine it with vague knowledge that 'people are getting leet leveling speed without tanks, just AOE everything' and you get inefficient PUGs trying to run spell cleave. They're low information players and they don't know any better.

Progress:
- Druid is 38 full feral. Mostly been DPSing dungeons with my tank buddy between solo leveling. Really really enjoying it.
- Shaman is 31 enh/resto. Only runs dungeons with friends at this stage, but that has been rare. Respecc'ed enh/resto when I got corpsemaker to provide solo questing ability and also to supplement some DPS in dungeons when I 4 man them with my RL mates.
Have about 55g saved up for the druids mount, although I'm certainly not stressed about getting it at 40 - travel form is fantastic. Leatherworking on my shaman is at 190 currently. All other professions are either skinning @ 225, or something not worth mentioning. I am enjoying my time, especially on my Druid, and I am really looking forward to the 40-60 questing and dungeon content.

Yeah I didn't get mine until a guildmate tossed me a 13g loan to buy it at level 42. Travel form was doing a fine job though, so it wasn't that big of a deal waiting a couple extra levels.

Joker managed to get ahead of the zerg and had the zones entirely to himself. Solo AoE as a mage now is ok but nowhere near the xp/hour he was getting even if you jump layers.Stfuppercut wrote: ↑5 years agoThis is especially confusing because Jokerxd showed us the potential for solo aoe grinding as a mage. The journey continues in Arathi Highlands.
I am level 34 and about to run SM all weekend!
Over and over again! And farm silk to get my tailoring as high as i can!
Next I plan on going to Desolace then Hinterlands!
Trying to avoid Stranglethorn but might not be able to...
Slowly but surly I will get 40 and my mount.
Then I will run off into the sunset!
Once I get to 50 I might start grinding mobs for drops like the Robes of Winter Night pattern
Mats for tailoring and and my epic mount quest and do dungeons in between grinding!
If i dont get lucky with drops then hopefully i farm enough gold from grinding away to buy it

Its funny that you mention that, because we had two guys in our guild follow his vod and copy what he was doing 1 week later, and they had VERY good results. Even though they were with the pack, they were easily able to get down to 4.5-5 days played by using some layering stacked with his route. One of them was my brother on his alt.
Now 4.5-5 days is obviously no where near Jokers pace, but it was still a pretty good time.

I am level 51 currently going slow, but I do not want to rush it... Kind of sad many of my guildmates is playing at level 60 doing raids and earning lots of DKP.

I'll chime in here, haven't made a post yet :)
Druid currently level 47, more than halfway to 48. Recently identified https://classic.wowhead.com/quest=1172/ ... -of-onyxia in Dustwallow Marsh & just finished off STV by https://classic.wowhead.com/quest=592/saving-yenniku. The https://classic.wowhead.com/npc=7572/fa ... -the-horde has sent me on some errands already, but before I can go free the https://classic.wowhead.com/npc=7668/se ... f-razelikh I still have a way to go.
Asking myself whether I did the right thing by getting the gnomish racing team drunk on https://classic.wowhead.com/item=5806/fools-stout :S
Starting questing in Tanaris now :) Can't wait to get my fingers on some https://classic.wowhead.com/item=8529/n ... ger-elixir :D
Profs are going great, with skinning, fishing and cooking already maxed out & leatherworking at 235.
Had enough gold for my mount at 44 i believe, but as was stated before, Travel Form rocks, so that wasn't a big deal, I hardly use the mount.
The next destination in terms of Dungeons will be Maraudon, after having just completed my full 7-Quest run through Zul'Farrak. Getting the https://classic.wowhead.com/item=9240/m ... -zulfarrak was an adventure to behold at level 46 :)
That's all for now
/moo

I know that feel man. Sucks being a slow leveler

Meh, while I have also been leveling slow - my enjoyment level is high

Most predictions I see is that Phase 2 wont be until early next year, which gives everyone time to hit 60 and do dungeons/raids before the honor system and Dire Maul is introduced. Kazzak is going to be very interesting to see also..... Going to be some crazy World PvP situations.

I'm enjoying the journey as well m8.
Like last night when I camped every horde player that tried to gank me along the coasts of STV. I'm finding that water form is my get away from horde button. A bunch of times I'd be minding my own business and some warrior would charge up and try to gank, I'd jump into the ocean and swim away. Then I'd pop stealth and track straight back and attack as soon as they'd engage a mob and be at half health. The great thing about stealth is that since I can target them, I can let them know that I'm breathing down their back as often as I want. Lots of /taunt spam followed by attacking them from behind every time the guy's health got low. I think I was averaging like a 5:1 kill to death ratio and I didn't start any of it, lol.
There was a warrior and priest combo that tried to gank me, but they couldn't close the deal and away I swam. They went on to fight packs of pirates along the coast so I had plenty of opportunities to wait stealthed 15 feet away, jump in and wipe them half-way through a pull. Between ganks, I would also occasionally drag my stealth ass across the priest's face while it was drinking just to make him see me lurking, pop up, waste his water, call his warrior friend over to pop bloodrage, all while I'd creep back to a shrub and keep /taunting, lol. It was fun watching them run around in circles trying to find me. And since the ocean was right there, any time I'd fail a gank attempt I'd just jump into the water and get away, stealth back, and come back for more a minute later

God I love this game. Fairbanks is heavily skewed horde, so I'm getting jumped out there left and right. But I'm winning more encounters than I'm losing since I'm willing to stealth and camp.
I sure hope so. I'm probably at least 3-4 weeks out from level 60 at this pace. I should be on target for 47 or 48 by the end of this weekend. I'd like to be able to continue at this pace and get in on the MC action before everybody moves on.Selexin wrote: ↑5 years agoMost predictions I see is that Phase 2 wont be until early next year, which gives everyone time to hit 60 and do dungeons/raids before the honor system and Dire Maul is introduced. I’m sure you probably meant the drop rates for those specifically but this reminds me of something I’ve experienced a lot of so far in classic— no drops. Things that were pretty damn efficient gold targets in the 30-40 range (Swamp Jaguars etc and beasts in general) are pretty lack luster thanks to seemingly 1/2 drops having absolutely nothing.Stfuppercut wrote: ↑5 years agoGot to say...
