In a move that will certainly frustrate many PvPers, Blizzard just announced (via a post by Kaivax on the US forums) that North American and Oceanic battlegroups will be merged in Season of Mastery.

Many players feared this would happen, as the OCE battlegroup would likely be very small given the number of players that participated in the beta. As a result, queues would be massive, so a merge was pretty likely with NA being the most obvious candidate.

The high latency in connections between the two continents can be detrimental in PvP however, and PvP players are already taking to Reddit and the official forums to voice their concerns.

What are your thoughts on this news? Is your PvP gameplay going to be impacted, or do you feel this is a worthy trade to prevent OCE players from sitting in very large queues? Let us know in the comments below!

Yes, all Americas and Oceanic Season of Mastery realms are in the same Battleground pool.
