So... I can make a name reservation on account and I will be able to use it on every realm? Or how does this work?Blizzard Entertainment
Create Your Character
If you’re eager to claim your character name in WoW Classic, take note: we’ll be opening character creation on Tuesday, August 13.** Players with an active subscription or game time on their account will be able to create up to three characters per World of Warcraft account. We’ll have more information on realm names closer to launch, but rest assured—you’ll have plenty of time to figure out your plans for realm domination!

Hopefully you pick a server that will be active.
Will make mine on two different PvP servers and one on a PvE server (if there will be more then one PvP server)

On a side note I heard somewhere that they will be using completely new realm names.

I think I'll roll where the meta guilds roll so it doesn't bother me, but I'm imagining they will roll something like WARSONG anyway

That Blue post was semi confusing. It makes it sound like they will announce the server names after the name reservation period. The line "we will announce the server names closer to launch". Closer than what? Closer to launch than the name reservation period? It should have read "we will announce the server names closer to the reservation period" or something like that.

Would actually be easier if they'd taken old familiar real names. You probably could have orientated yourself and made your decision. For example Stormscale = super Hardcore and baelgun = casual
Twitch Channel, feel free to take a look :)!

Take all the big PV server names and make them real ones :D
Or just pre-assign players. Like, make all the streamers use "Streamheaven" or something then the rest is RP servernames.

I agree with this. Would be nice to see some of the major Pservers have their own server, streamers with their own server and a lot of the original server names could make a come back as well. There is nothing wrong with allowing people to have a strong understanding of who they will be playing with. I personally min/max and really enjoyed the atmosphere on private. I think I would blend best with other private players for that reason.
Granted this isn't realistic and wont happen, but a boy can dream. It sounds like they may be underestimating the interest in Classic and may release too few realms to begin. Though I also believe this name reservation option is a specific device being used by Blizz as their primary source of player interest. They have analytics to get a vague idea of interest, but this name reservation list will probably help dictate how many realms they will be releasing. I am so curious what their desired player count is per server for low/high pop after layering has collapsed.

Are you being deliberately obtuse, or are you actually this stupid?
There's nothing wrong with the way it was worded, obviously they mean 'closer to launch than now.'
Why would they announce the server names after character creation opens?
That doesn't even make sense.
