Immense setup. Love the butcher block.

Seeing side-by-side set ups like this always fills me with indescribable envy

Cluttered desk, but I've learned that screen real estate is key.

Yeah that's a big reason, I somehow convinced my wife to make this!
Before we moved I did not have a good designated place to play and when we found our new place I said I don't want to move my desk around like the last place we had. So we put it in our bedroom lol. Now it will never move!

We haven't used it yet though, been busy setting it up and unpacking.
Soon though we will start game nights and once classic releases I will be glued there

I'm in the process of moving in about a week, so posting my station will be hard. I can post some specs however. My old girl was new in 2011, and I'm probably not going to get an upgrade in another year or two. She'll work with Classic though.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz
RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1gb

Looking forward to the semi-nostalgic frame rates in IF!

Those of you using Linux should use the Manjaro distro as it's based on Arch and thus has the latest stuff for gaming...

I don't understand why people upgrade their system for classic, i have an i7-920 and Radeon HD 4890 from 2009/2010 and have 100 FPS in retail wow at decent settings

Need that ultra-wide 12k resolution pimps-only 240hz with every ReShade option enabled and 12 streams open in the background.

How are you liking the 2500k? I was thinking of doing a budget build for my son using the 2500k.

@Chablo Buy an old Dell Optiplex System and throw a GTX 1050 Ti Low Profile card and boom, you have an entry level gaming PC.

I did it with a Dell Optiplex 9010.

i7-3770 / 16GB DDR3 / 500GB HDD / GTX 1050 Ti 4GB LP Card.

Optiplex was $172 on ebay plus a $179.99 GTX 1050 Ti.

$351 for a Entry level gaming PC...cheaper than most consoles.

Honestly? It's old. I don't game too much (and never with graphics heavy games) so I haven't had any issues but pretty sure someone who is looking to play modern games will notice the shortcomings.

Yep, it's a 1985 standard.

That's exactly what I plan on doing haha. It's going to be a minecraft machine so just thinking of grabbing a budget RX gpu like a 550 4gb or 560.

I'm running the Ryzen 3 1300X, B350 Gaming PRO, G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB and a EVGA 1060 6GB. Built it last year and it's still running strong.

I have always run AMD processors, I love them. Plus I didn't have a lot of money to spend so, at $205 total, this was a bargain for me.

I've used both and don't see any difference between the two except the price.

The processors I've had that I can remember:
1. AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+
2. Intel Core i3-2100
3. Intel Core i7-4770K
4. AMD Ryzen 1700

I am currently on Ryzen and this has been the best out of all 4. (talking about price and performance) I am planning on upgrading to Ryzen 3700/X/3900X when they come out. Will see which one when the benchmarks land.

I dont have a setup right now cause i'm packing up to move and will be still moving around a lot for the next month or two, so using just a laptop for the timebeing.
Have a question though for everyone that has a gaming chair - are they as comfortable as their price implies? like for sitting at hours upon end everyday? i have a shit office chair atm and looking to get a new one, wondering if itd be worth getting a gaming chair or just a better more comfortable office chair that doesnt hurt after sitting in it too long.

They are 100% a marketing fad for rich people or poor people that have no idea how to manage their money. Buy a nice chair from IKEA that will last you 5+ years.

As im working from home and sitting in front of computer for countless hours every day - I opted for nice gaming chair for around 500 dollars. It is good if you care about your back health as you can set pretty much anything on it (depends on the model of course). I've got Maxnomic Commander after few months of scouting the market.

I had problems with back but thankfully thats all gone. Its really comfortable and much healthier than plain office chairs. 95% of IKEA products are shit btw.

Edit: My chair is not gaming - its office/home office chair. But its picked precisely to fit me. I definitely advise to scout the market and pick what you like and what fits you.

I can't imagine buying a $500 "gaming" chair as a supplement for back problems.
