Intro
World of Warcraft is a large game with thousands of items and spells, tracking the relevant ones can be daunting and forgetting some is the only obstacle between you and becoming a great shaman tank. I suggest installing an addon or my Weakaura Plugin, that tracks present and missing buffs. This guide assumes the previously mentioned tools are being used, especially if new. If you have aspirations of raid tanking, get acquainted with Stratholme Undead for Wail of the Banshee, really good tanks try the Secret Wail Tech. Name
Your secondary name and guild name will help others remember and attribute your accomplishments more easily. Familiarity/recognition is key as it will help you get into groups quicker. Your secondary/guild name should be in some form associated to tanking, ex: Shaman Tank. Race
Tauren: https://www.wowhead.com/forever/spell=20550/endurance is king. Next is Dwarf: https://www.wowhead.com/forever/spell=20594/stoneform. Professions
Engineering: https://www.wowhead.com/forever/item=16 ... rget-dummy. Enchanting: https://www.wowhead.com/forever/spell=13262/disenchant. NOTE: If no 2nd account, go Tailoring & Enchanting for DE Shuffling.

Profession Camp Buffs
First Aid: Plague Doctor's Laboratory, all others are minor. New players can wait outside the dungeon to gather all Camp buffs.
Threat
Dungeons are about pulling a lot of mobs quickly. So, focus on AoE threat, ex: https://www.wowhead.com/forever/item=89 ... immolation. My WA helps with threat issues. Talents
There are two talent setups.
New Players: 17/23/11 Pro Players: 0/20/31 Rotation
Progressively aim to simplify your rotation for the purpose of preserving energy to deal with the tribulations of a Pug.
1. Pull: https://www.wowhead.com/forever/spell=10414/earth-shock and Lightning Shield.
2. Run to next pack while spamming: Searing Totem and Fire Nova.
3. Mobs are gathered up: Searing Totem, Fire Nova, Oil of Immolation. (if 0/20/31: add https://www.wowhead.com/forever/spell=408521/riptide)
4. Constantly: Fire Nova (and self Riptide).
5. (Situational): lost aggro on boss or it resets threat? equip a two hander, https://www.wowhead.com/forever/spell=17364/stormstrike and Earth Shock.
Have the energy to spare? if so, Caustic Smog Potion. Gear/Enchants
Area of effect gear when possible, otherwise: Stamina, Spellpower and Intellect.
BiS Gear
Transmogrification BiS setup: Link Group Comp
The ideal group to form/join and classes to look out for: Discipline Priest, Balance Druid, Retribution Paladin and Mage. Macros
Time is precious, we do not chat with each person who doubts shaman tanking, they say no/hesitant then move on.
Social Macros in order:
- Login and ready to tank for the day: " /dnd Full knowledge of class spec and ALL bosses. Full dung exp. BiS gear/consumes. "
- The invite/request message sent to others, if LFG or LFM: " ok with bis Tanking Shaman? ".
- All members enter the dungeon: " /p Amplify Magic, Retribution Aura on all. /run UnitSetRole("YourToonNameHere", "TANK") "
- Next: " /p Power Word Fort, Shadow Protection, Mark of the Wild, Thorns on me. "
- Lastly: " /p Follow star, shaman is tank. /run if UnitExists("YourToonNameHere") then if GetRaidTargetIndex("YourToonNameHere")~=6 then SetRaidTarget("YourToonNameHere",1) end end "
Personal Macros in order:
- At dungeon door: " /target YourToonNameHere /castsequence reset=target Scroll of Protection IV, Scroll of Agility IV, Scroll of Strength IV, Scroll of Stamina IV, null "
- Next: " /target YourToonNameHere /castsequence reset=target Crystal Spire, Rumsey Rum Black Label, Elixir of Fortitude, Scroll of Intellect IV, Scroll of Spirit IV, null "
- Lastly: " /target YourToonNameHere /castsequence reset=target Rockbiter Weapon, Tender Wolf Steak, null "
Combat Macros in order:
- All pulled mobs are gathered: " /castsequence reset=6 Searing Totem, Fire Nova, Oil of Immolation, Lightning Shield " Addons
- Annoying Popup Remover Error Filter, removes the distracting red text above your head, ex: not enough mana.
- ArkInventory, bag addon to categorize items.
- Cell (from Github), unit frame addon. I suggest installing my minimalistic TBA profile: I'm lazy, yell at me to update profile.
- Elvui EllesmereUi, basically a UI overhaul, I suggest to install my TBA profile: I'm lazy, yell at me to update profile.
- ItemRack, auto swaps between a predefined order of trinkets.
- PlainAutoMail, assigns certain items to be auto mailed to your second alt toon.
- Prat, chat addon, if very experienced at tanking, I suggest checkmarking "Disable Flash for Whisper".
- Scrap, assign certain items to be auto vendored, includes quest items and items with no sell price.
- LeatrixPlus, quality of life features.
- LeatrixMaps, sizeable map. Useless in dungeons, but useful when out in the open.

Quick question - are we supposed to be using a shield like a real tank or does Forever still do that Classic thing where tanks are supposed to be using two-handers?

For dungeon tanking, you stick with a shield, at any moment your healer can go AFK or get lost.
For raid tanking, you equip a two hander whenever you loose aggro on a mob which is likely due to a boss mechanic that resets threat. A good raid tank will activate all possible damage increasing abilities when two-handing, ex: Rage of the Farseer, Stormstrike,etc.
