What are some vanilla locations that you'd like to see get some attention in Classic+? As I mentioned in another thread, I'd love to see a new version of Darnassus. It always felt like the most neglected city to me, but it has so much potential.
There are some places that exist in the vanilla game files but never made it in at the time, like the Emerald Dream and Mount Hyjal. They did touch on them in SoD but maybe we could see them become fully realized zones. I think the trouble with those is that they already went there in retail so it either wouldn't really be new or they'd have to retcon or something to redo them.
I would love to be able to actually race something at the race track in Thousand Needles.
Now that Dalaran has been destroyed in retail, it would be cool to get to go in and explore the original version in its crater.
I'd rather they stick to the two original continents, but it would be fun to see the Tel Abim. They could just stick some banana trees on a little island and call it a day ![]()

I hope they stick with just Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms too.
One thing I would love to see is the existing zones not revamped but more populated with quests, especially chain quests and small storylines. For example the Legend of Stalvin or Morbent Fel quest chains are awesome, I feel like there are a lot of zones that could have stuff like that added.
There's also a slump I always get to with leveling (alliance), from around level 25-45 so anything they do to the zones to make that level range more interesting would be great.

Isn't this when you get to STV? Since it's my favorite zone to level in, I'd rather they left it be.
And in general, after only playing Horde in the original run and trying Alliance in Classic, I'm frankly appaled at how much smoother their leveling progression is (not to mention the cities). The straight path from Elwynn to Westfall to Redridge to Darkshire to STV is so nice and smooth. It's all good areas that feel like a part of a cohesive fantasy adventure.
Meanwhile Horde has the Barrens, and Barrens are iconic, but other than that it's a lot of getting pinballed around the continents. And sometimes you're even forced to do the Horde Eastern Kingdoms zones, and the less said about those the better.
I do agree with expanding and overhauling the existing zones in principle. They already overhauled Dustwallow Marsh like 3 times, it's still the worst zone in the game. Maybe fourth time's the charm. Desolace should be less desolate too. And Ashenvale, for all its peak music and ambiance could use moar stuff to do.
I would also like them to maybe tack on a zone or two to each of the continents. We don't need another island sprouting on the map, but some quick expansion that's brand new? I could live with that.

I like the idea of having a reason to revisit the original zones, like rotating events or new quest chains. Finding the runes in SoD was a lot of fun. Every patch doesn't need a random new zone tacked on (which becomes irrelevent itself when the next one comes out).

Should probably add this philosophy to my list of the worst things to ever happen to WoW. Should go somewhere between homogenized classes and flying.
So yeah, I dig the idea of gradually adding new stuff to old zones.

I feel like the old world deserves some love, so I fully agree that we need new and interesting quests. There are far too many areas where you're stuck grinding mobs before you can get to a good quest chain. Adding more good quests with actual engaging stories would also help people explore the world more rather than spam-farm dungeons all day.

What are we thinking about repurposed locations? The Scarlet Enclave raid in SoD uses the DK starting area and does some interesting things with it instead of simply copy-pasting it. They even tie KTZ's return in Wrath with a bit of lore in there.
I'd be open to them tacking on some bits of future expansions as new things for Classic+. Saves them designing entirely new areas and allows to populate the world faster.

I'd love to see more stuff like the Scarlet Enclave. Hopefully that is indeed where they're going with Classic+.
I think it would be cool to flesh out the empty or unfinished areas from the Classic map. There's plenty of space to work with that can maintain the original vision, but with the benefit of more dev time to fill it out.
I can appreciate that sometimes an empty expanse is necessary. I don't think we should turn The Barrens into a nice suburb, haha. But there are definitely places that you can see they originally meant for something to go there or lead to something and it just didn't make the cut.
