Playing Forever beta and revisiting some of the earliest parts of the game got me thinking about how I would rate them. Especially now that they have new quests and rewards to discover. So far, I got a chance to play through the Dwarf and Undead starting zones, and that didn't change my personal rankings.

I'm yet to try a Skelf to see how I like their zone, so feel free to share your thoughts on it here - how do you like it, where you would rate it among the other starters?

With that out of the way, here's my personal rankings from best to worst:
Humans - Elwind Forest - such a cozy area with not a lot of annoying quests or empty running around. And it leads to the best area progression in the game of Elwind>Westfall>Redridge>Duskwood>STV.
Tauren - Mulgore - great atmosphere, fun questing, and access to the only Horde city that's not a total pain to navigate.
Orcs/Trolls - Durotar - annoying early cave, some fun bits with the Sen'jin village, too much running around Razor Hill. Not the greatest, but not terrible.
Dwarfs/Gnomes - Dun Morogh - similar to Durotar in that it has some nice bits and some not so nice, plenty of running around. Many quests have annoying drop rates, bringing it down below Durotar.
Night Elves - Teldrassil - when people are willing to do the whole Wetlands run just to get away from the Nelf starting zone, you know it's bad. Secluded, overly long, and way too much pointless running. And then it leads into Darkshore, which is even worse.
Undead - Tirisfal Glades - I just can't stand any of the Horde EK zones. The atmosphere is dreadful, everything is gloomy, quests all get on your nerves, and it tends to be really popular so you have to fight for each mob with a bunch of zombros. And then you get to Undercity and the elevator kills you. Forever did nothing to aleviate my distaste for this area.

I'm not sure if I can possibly give these a fair rating, haha. So much nostalgia is tied up in what I pick to go through and why.

1. Humans - Not only is it just all around pretty and chill, but it was my first experience with the game. I was invited into an early closed beta of WoW as I was an avid WC3 and Starcraft player. Human Paladin was my first experience with the game.
2. Nelf - This one rated low for you, but again, there's so much nostalgia mixed up in my feelings for this zone. Yea, it definitely involves a lot of running around, but damn is it so cool. I remember seeing the Satyrs and being fascinated with their lore as it related to the War of the Ancients. Moonwells in 3D?
3. Undead - Being an edgelord I had to make an Undead Rogue. But while that might've gotten me there, what really drew me in was the lore. The Forsaken and how they're managing with their new unlives, the landscape, what is now The Undercity. I think it's one of the most connected starting zones to the current events of Azeroth.
4. Dwarf/Gnome - It's a bit icey and snowblinds me a bit so it's not higher. But one word... "Ironforge". Oh my god what a city to walk into.
5. Orc/Trolls - It definitely feels like the Orcs especially fit into this locale nicely. The loincloth wearing barbarian race of Orcs in a hot arid climate just feels right. The architecture is very on-brand for what we saw in all the RTS Warcrafts.
6. Tauren - Don't get me wrong, even though they're listed last for me I still have fond memories and it's not a bad zone. It just felt a bit too samey, and there wasn't a lot of awe and wonder to be had from a zone that is essentially a wide open flat plain.

Playing a tauren in beta, I'd have to raise this one to the top of my own list. Mainly because on top of everything else, I remembered it has the best chat. Everyone's just typing Mooo a lot, and making moo-based puns. Perfection. Meanwhile Tirisfal is just your daily dose of current events :tm:

For me I don't feel much has changed to be honest. I wish there were some stronger changes in terms of additional quests, new mobs to fight, etc, beyond what they've done already.

Besides the undead starting zone, I find the rest to be very boring aesthetically. They should be massively revamped imo.
