To me, WoW Forever represents the revival of something that I felt was lost to time. Besides the usual raid logging, PvP, and social banter, some of my fondest memories in WoW have been created during late nights in the open world. Just me, a random quest, and the many strangers I met while farming strange areas and coming up to me with an enthusiastic "Hey, did you do that dungeon yet?"
The feeling of community and random adventure that only a vivid open world brimming with players can bring is now something that I fully look forward to in Forever. I think the new Camping system will let players come together again and feel a sense of accomplishment from random late-night dungeon runs and some fine trolling around. All of this without the needless pressure of "This raid tier only lasts 2 months, better get my Pre-BiS asap!"
It was a feeling I briefly relived with the Classic experience, but not enough to bring me true satisfaction. Everything moved around too fast. Everyone wanted to level up ASAP. The permanence that WoW Forever promises is something that I can say I desired for a very long time, especially at a pace where every part of the leveling journey matters.
Are you as excited about late-night open world adventures as I am? Well, fellow players, I hope we get to camp together at the edge of Duskwood and run away from nightmarish abominations together!

Yes, that's one of my biggest draws to it. I don't know if they manage to pull it off, but if they do, WoW will feel way more like an actual MMO if that makes sense. A game where the world is the main character, not you. You're just hanging out there.
Very excited to see what they do with it. Most of my friends who hadn't touched WoW in years are intrigued and thinking about resubbing for it too.

Oh god we are so back. I'm feeling exactly the same way as back in 2019 when classic was announced. Funnily enough I barely have any memories of azeroth when i originally played but more so outland is etched into my memory. After all the iterations its been through over the last 7 years I can say for sure now that classic remains undefeatedly the best version.
And i'm just now finding out that barrens chat is back in its full glory?? when did this even happen?? absolutely love to see it

I think Blizzard is going for a more original “2004” release; meaning almost the entire game will be “new” with all the changes they’ve made and new abilities and legacy talents this looks like it’s going to be a rediscover and relearn things while obviously keeping the core experience intact.

Forsaken Paladin

One of my best WoW memories involves a late night impromptu noob faction war in STV. Was before the time when everyone had 20 high level alts and level capped rogues farmed the zone. So it was just a blob of horde vs alliance organizing in chat to secure the questing/farming spots. Great times. Would sure be nice to have something like that again.

Set up a camp near a quest hub, cook some food, give out buffs and meet some chill people. That’s my plan for Forever. I can’t believe I’m going to finally play as an undead paladin after all these years!
Now I just need to think what professions I will get. Mining blacksmithing sounds fun. I can give wisdom buffs and sharpening stones for AP :)
Also barrens chat is popping off again and you love to see it.
