Holy shit I only noticed this on the blizz official site when I was trying to get back onto the EU forums (which are fucking useless - endless redirects and logs me into the wrong account then gives me a 404 on login page
).When did this get announced? They are remaking Warcraft III with new models and stuff. Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne campaigns included.
Kind of interesting because they have been tinkering with WC3 on the PTR (adding high res support, balance changes etc.) recently and I thought it would stop there. Maybe they are capitalising on the nostalgia rush for Classic and will release this beforehand?
Either way 2019 is going to rock. I will definitely play through the campaigns on this - won't spend any time on getting good online though. Was a huge warcraft 3 player before WoW came out!

Iam excited about it too. It will be the first time i actually play it, when i was young i only had the Demo version.
Same as you teeb I will play it to tide me over until Classic releases.
If someone does a remake of the original DOTA mod for wc3 I may stick around for longer!!
I was hoping for Reforged to release before Classic, but that does not seem to be the case since it states on the website "Pre-purchase: Warcraft® III: Reforged releases on or before December 31, 2019."
Was hoping to tie it in nicely with Classic, but the old Warcraft 3 will do instead.
I've been meaning to play through Warcraft 3 for a while, might just hold off until this releases. Sadly, I got into the Warcraft universe sorta late down the line.
The Orc storyline is my favourite. Anything of the Classic Horde that Thrall was the Warchief of is my favourite Horde. The story felt good, and the aesthethic of the Horde always pleases me.
People might compare old Stormwind to old Orgrimmar, and say that Stormwind is miles better, but to me, Orgrimmar got a so much better feeling to it.
In my opinion, it's tied with Ironforge of how great the atmosphere is.
It's not too late Authiel - maybe for multiplayer but the campaigns are just immense. Really worth playing... my favourite campaign was probably Humans - the story of Arthas' downfall, the culling of Stratholme and the expedition to Northrend are gripping and lead directly into the start of WOTLK lore. There's high res support now with the new patch too.
To me this was THE Blizzcon announcement. I adore this game. After all, it was what convinced me to play World of Warcraft and what made my WoW experience so epic. I think the main reason why WoW felt so magic to me was because I could see in first person parts of the Warcraft 3 lore. This remaster is just the perfect way to make Warcraft 3 relevant again and, even though playing the Reforged version won't bring a new experience (the campaigns are practically the same), if the game attracts people enough, we could even get more campaigns, just like with Age of Empires II. I'm looking forward to that.
I remember coming from TFT to WoW and being pissed off that so many of the WC3 icons were being reused for wow.
Yeah, that didn't last long 
I just really hope they don't wait until classic is already out to get a hard date for WC III xD

Will probably be locked up in Classic by then anyway if it really is releasing end of ‘19.
I am so excited for Warcraft III Reforged! Still hoping we get a Warcraft IV at some point but this is amazing! 2019 is going to be a great year for Warcraft! :)

For me, that backup plan will be original Warcraft III, which is completely fine, and maybe I dare to say better in terms of reliving the past, just like Classic will be.
I lived on WC3 custom games for the 2 years until WoW came out. I can't wait to play some more Wintermaul Wars or Life of a Peasant. Maybe I'll actually try to get good at the normal game this time.
I'm not a huge fan of new graphics, but I'm learned not to throw my money at Blizzard before I see the product. More excited about the maps really. DotA, Angel Arena, Pyramid Escape, Takeshi's Castle, Are you a Lucker, all those RPG's, etc.
I am glad the old client will work with the new one for online play. I like the textures and look of the old client so I will stick with that.
