I was wondering what everyone else is doing for release day / week.
I've heard of people waiting 12 hours after release so they don't have to wait as long.
I've heard of people waiting until a week afterwards to begin so hopefully they won't have to wait in queues.
I've even heard of some people waiting a full month to see how the realms pan out before they commit to one.
I'm personally going full-send on release day. It comes out at 6pm so I'll have all day to prepare food, drinks, and to setup my computer at my friend's place. Him and I are going to no-life it until we have no life left to no-life on release night.
So, when are you all planning to begin your adventure?
"May the eternal sun shine upon thee"
I'm in California so launch happens to be 3PM on a Monday over here. I have plenty of vacation time but am electing against taking a week off. I'm just going to be leaving work by 2:30 on that monday and then a little earlier than normal the rest of the week. That weekend is going to be full no-life mode with timers to get up and go lift every few hours to keep the blood flowing.
Be on character selection at 5PM with your friend and DO NOT exit or leave the server for whatever reason.
Don't get caught up in the 6PM log in queue.
It launches at 11PM here which sucks ass but I am taking a week off to play the game so I will pull an all-nighter for launch.
Adrenaline and hype will keep me awake until tuesday bed time...
I don't know if you got in on any of the beta or stress test action, but apparently the starting zone respawn timers were broken. There is supposed to be some form of dynamic respawn in the starting zones so things respawn when it's getting slammed. I got in stress test 2 and everything was dead all the time. Dozens of players roaming around the same 4-5 mobs waiting for things to come back to life. Apparently this was broken, and they fixed it. In the final stress test there was no lack of mobs to kill even with more players in the area.
I don't think the starting zones are going to be as big a problem as a lot of people are expecting them to be.
The launch day will be within the week that I have free between university courses, unfortunately at the time of launch I will be in the office, it will be up to 3 or 2 hours later that I can enter, if the waiting lines allow. I hope to spend at least 4 or 5 hours if there are no problems.
Launch is at midnight here. So with 2 friends we’ll going to have a night session. Go to bed in the morning and start playing again in the afternoon. Have a few days off and got permission from the commander in chief (my wife) to go nuts a few days !
I will login with my main. I will look around. I will take some screenshot. I will cry submerged by feelings/nostalgia. And I will finally embark on the journey I wanted to take in the past 10 years
Hydraxian Waterlords - RP - EU
- Fendor - Tauren Shaman
- Ildebrando - Dwarf Hunter
- Osandiron - Dwarf Priest
Launch is at midnight for me. On Tuesday I have to work from 5PM until midnight, and I will be off work on Wednesday the 28th. My hope is I will be able to hit level 10 or very close to it before starting work on Tuesday, so that I can properly start questing with my pet at my side from Wednesday onwards.
Going to be "taking a half day" on Tuesday after it launches Monday evening so I can get back at it after regularly scheduled maintenance. Just going to do what I did last time; level and fuck off along the way.
Still hoping my 3 name reservations on 3 separate servers pan out. We won't know until we know, how the servers will be.
Get mob tags. Collect XP. Get to 12 and meetup with my cleave team. Grind to 17-19. Get into deadmines. Take all of the XP and gear. Spike ahead of everyone that isnt cleaving or isnt a top end solo-leveler. Repeat this for days. Profit.
Uh, what? I'm in Oregon and unless I missed something, the release date in our timezone is Tuesday the 27th.
You're off by a day m8
You just got one day closer to launch. Congratulations
We'll be logging in at launch at playing until as late as physically possible. I'll be playing with my wife and my brother as a warrior, priest, hunter combo. SO HYPE! 13 days!
Heralds of Time
My plans involve waking up > getting my PC turning on > going to the bathroom > coming out and checking the time > crying because I probably woke up incredibly early and Classic is 10 hours away > refresh a thousand Reddit subreddits, WoWhead, Barrens.Chat, and probably opening 700 new Chrome Tabs because I can't keep a clean browser > eat at some point during that > pace around > hop on Classic 5 hours in advance, possibly more > stare at my troll and cry about how I got "Times" instead of "Time" like a primitive forest troll > when Classic is 10 minutes away finally realize a chore that I coulda done during the past 10 hours > now its 5 minutes away so I realize 10,000 things I coulda been doing in the past 10 hours > log in > "You have been Disconnected from the Server" > log back in > "Position in Queue: 12,496, Estimated Time: i'll let you in when you get over the fact that you have an S in your otherwise perfect name" > finally get in at 10:30PM EST > walk from the Valley of Trials to the Zeppelin to Tirisfal Glades > miss the zep by 0.001 seconds > finally arrive at Tirisfal so I jump off at my pre-planned spot and ghost-run from Brill to Deathknell > collide with the ground at a force that is 1 newton too powerful > "You have been Disconnected from the Server" > Log back in > "Position in Queue: 74,567, Estimated Time: NEXT SUNDAY, A.D. > go to bed > wake up late at noon > repeat steps 1-4 > log in > Spend the next 20 hours getting out of Deathknell because I refuse to skip any Undercity quest because reputation > Now... now I can play the game!
I cannot wait!!!

Since it is launching at 11PM here and it is a Tuesday in a work week I unfortunately (or not) will miss launch day for sure.
Then I will just put away my nostalgia googles and take the nostalgia roller coaster a couple of hours a day. Maybe a no-life weekend here and there, but nothing too serious.

Me and 3 of my workmates have requested the day off. Just 1 day. We weren't planning on taking anytime off, but the hype got too real. The leave request hasnt been approved yet... so we'll see!
Sounds about right :DTime wrote: ↑1 week agonow its 5 minutes away so I realize 10,000 things I coulda been doing in the past 10 hours > log in > "You have been Disconnected from the Server" > log back in > "Position in Queue: 12,496, Estimated Time: i'll let you in when you get over the fact that you have an S in your otherwise perfect name" > finally get in at 10:30PM EST > walk from the Valley of Trials to the Zeppelin to Tirisfal Glades > miss the zep by 0.001 seconds > finally arrive at Tirisfal so I jump off at my pre-planned spot and ghost-run from Brill to Deathknell > collide with the ground at a force that is 1 newton too powerful > "You have been Disconnected from the Server" > Log back in > "Position in Queue: 74,567

Log in watch the insanity in the starting zones, get things set up the way I prefer them, log out, and return to enjoy the game within the next day or two after that.
