I won't be able to play classic until next summer rolls around due to my final year of college and wrestling. I wasn't able to play classic or WoW ever, so I am looking forward to playing some classic next summer. But I have been thinking that it may be more difficult to find a raiding group after nearly a year of the game being live. I was hoping to ask some long-time players exactly how easy or hard it will to find a group for raiding a year post-launch.
I honestly don't believe it would be too difficult, but I figured I might as well ask about this and be on the safe side in preparation.
Also, to kill two birds with one stone; Which of the healing or support classes is the least intensive? Prep and combat-wise?

If you join in late, it can actually be pretty easy joining raid groups. Alot of guilds have raids on farm and once people are fully geared they start slowly dropping out of guilds or at least not show up for raids meaning they need to fill the spot.
I joined late in vanilla since raiding never appealed to me. I got into a fully geared group and I got 3 epics on my first ever run.
Ten Storms EU Alliance
Finnigan - Dwarf Hunter Lvl 30
Portalmaster - Gnome Mage Lvl 19
Shaelur - Dwarf Paladin Lvl 22
Shaelus - Night Elf Druid Lvl 50
You're probably gonna have an easier time next year.
The initial zerg will have died down, you'll be able to quest at your own pace without forming an orderly queue for mobs and there won't be as much competition for the phase 1 BiS items.
Remember that Classic isn't going anywhere, that's the beauty of it this time around. You don't have to rush for fear of TBC coming and shitting all over your progress.

you know, this has been on my mind allot lately, how long will classic remain ?! will they add TBC next? will they shut it down if it becomes dead after naxx ? looking at RIFT's classic server, RIFT PRIME, they closed it a year after release.
i really hope classic lasts for a long while....
I obviously have no idea what Blizzard has planned but I do think it would be very counter productive to release a TBC server that follows on from the Classic servers. That would completely undermine the whole reason for having Classic servers in the first place!zutch wrote: ↑5 years agoyou know, this has been on my mind allot lately, how long will classic remain ?! will they add TBC next? will they shut it down if it becomes dead after naxx ? looking at RIFT's classic server, RIFT PRIME, they closed it a year after release.

Shame about RIFT Prime but let's be honest, it's not remotely in the same league as Classic in terms of playerbase and hype.

I still have the dream that Blizzard will start new Classic Servers every few years so you can always start from scratch. It would be best to start a new server about 2 months after Naxxramas was released - as a ladder like Diablo 2 Ladders - that would be a dream!
Twitch Channel, feel free to take a look :)!

On one hand I applaud you for staying focused and waiting. On the other hand I think you need to be able to wind down and treat yourself every now and then. I think you should play super casually and just level lackadaisically until you're free. It will let you get your fix. We all need to wind down, especially in our last year of uni ;)
Unless of course you have a super addictive personalty and know if you start you can't stop. :P
The Footpad

Yeah man I think this could be a good way to keep the F R E S H crowd playing. Yearly seasonal servers. Keep the old servers alive for those who don't want to start over, stand up some new ones every year for that fresh reset action.

Not exactly like that.
You have all of the EU-Servers as we have them now.
After Naxx hits Classic, they add at somepoint a new progress server or 2, not more. Then you can play...for lets say 1.5years. After that the new Servers closes and you can transfer your character to one of the main servers.
After that, new Progress Server starts and so on...
Like Ladder Chars and Non-Ladder Chars :p

Actually that's exactly what I meant. I was typing on my phone while dropping a deuce this morning and probably didn't explain the idea well enoughaeh wrote: ↑5 years agoNot exactly like that.
