I don't have that much time to play as i used to do during highschool (10 hours a day).
I have a family now and 40 hour workweek job.
I have been playing Horde forever and I kinda feel at home on horde side, however I have interests in alliance faction too because of the new experience for me (lore-wise and zones). I can't decide which faction i should go..
I've been te type of PVE guy and I like PVP in the form of World PVP and Battlegrounds. I dont like 1vs1 and duelling and arena pvp because I always lose.
Melee classes are my least favorite classes and shaman and druid I think takes also too much time to gear up for every build/spec. (healing, tanking and dps gear).
My options are either priest or mage..
I like mage for the easy leveling and free portals and food/drinks and it is good class in pve and pvp.
I like priest especially for healing in dungeons and raids and battlegrounds/world pvp.
Someone on the same boat that can't decide ? Or what class did you end up choosing?
Also w
Thanks in advance!

You have now chance to try both till level 15. No one else can help you chose. Just try it out and you will find your answer yourself.

With the time issues, I'd go priest. A little slower to level, but you'll make dungeon groups much easier. I can't help with your faction choice, but I love the Alliance, mainly for aesthetics.

And therein lies your real conundrum. Easy levelling and independence, or group dependant and invaluable team-asset? Tough choice.I like mage for the easy leveling and free portals and food/drinks and it is good class in pve and pvp.
I like priest especially for healing in dungeons and raids and battlegrounds/world pvp.
Personally I've done the priest thing (literally) in vanilla, so this time I'm going for a strong-independent-female warlock ;p
I pondered for a long time between Alliance or Horde (I vanilla'd as Horde) for the exact same reasons you are considering now, but Alliance is only composed of Elves and Humans in sizes large, medium and small, so I find them extremely boring to play (I tried...) so it made my choice easier to go Horde again.
Only you can make that choice depending on your experiences :D

Mages can only DPS, but priests can either dps or heal. That makes priests better.
Be horde, because we're the better faction.

My reputation is clean.

Horde mage. Good solo class for the bits of time you get in, and what you need right now is probably some familiar nostalgia.

Blah! It's a fresh start! Why not experience the grandeur of the Alliance? As you mentioned, it would be nice to experience new zones and their lore in a different light. On the subject of light, I think a priest is the way to go. Slow, steady, and... self-heals. Who wouldn't want you in their group? If you want, you can even DPS! I can relate to you so much on the whole 1 v 1 thing in PvP. I never win when I play DPS in PvP. However, as a priest, I never die ;) It helps me feel useful to heal my allies and keep them alive long enough to do the killing for me. Indirect/assist kills are my thing :3 the enemy will hate you. Roll priest today. :)

Let's first focus on the biggest thing. Time
You say
So how much time will you have to play?
Hours / day, Hours / week?
Let's say that you have 10h/ week to play. Then you should make your character for the leveling process, not focus on endgame.
Will you world pvp during leveling, dungeons, grinding, questing?
Every dungeon needs a healer, but a mage who can cc + make food and water is also sought after.
A mage can aoe grind, while priest can kill mobs efficiently.

And finaly, do you whant to go back. To a time lost, but not forgotten. Experience the feelings you felt those years ago, while discovering things you never knew were there.
Or are you looking for a new adventure, familliar, yet totally new.
