Just curious how the Stress Test went? Was at work so I missed everything in regards to the layering or how it ran!

About as expected. We blew up the servers, most people spent most of the time looking at server queues, getting DCed, etc. GMs summoned Ragnaros, Cthun, Onyxia, and some other cool bosses into starting zones. People mistook "stress test" for "early access" and bitched and moaned about not getting to play.
All in all, it went about like a stress test is meant to go.

I am glad I took the adult decision and decided to go to bed instead of forcing myself to stay up and feel shitty today.
I guess it's to be expected to not be able to login or make a character the moment the servers went live.
But let's hope that they actually do something with this data and come actual launch there will be zero issues.

I got the stress test but missed out . Im guessing even if i got the stress test on bnet i´m still not in the actual beta ??
Also do i have to actually launch the client and look at realmlist to know if i get beta access now?
Got the client but haven´t launched it yet .. so close but yet so far from aug27..

A lot of people are whining on reddit about not getting in and having taken time out of their schedule to play. The thing they fail to understand is that they did exactly what they were supposed to; stress tested. Something something reddit-drama about streamers getting priority which again is absolutely laughable because even if they did it would literally just be a handful of people that allowed 200k other guys on twitch to follow along on their streams.
If someone wants a good laugh I can absolutely recommend r/classicwow right now.

the Official Forums are also totally mad.Bumlebi wrote: ↑5 years agoA lot of people are whining on reddit about not getting in and having taken time out of their schedule to play. I’m from the EU, but I work nights normally and I had the day off last night so I was up for the timeframe of the stress test.
Spent about 30 minutes struggling through trying to log in and couldn’t make it past character creation.
But I realise that overloading the systems is the whole point of the stress test and this would be going on all throughout the night so I decided to leave it at that and did something else.
When I woke up and saw that a dev was spawning raid bosses I felt a bit sad that I ended up missing out, but browsing reddit and the blizz forums made it clear that it was still only a lucky few that got to experience that even among those that got in because it was only on a single layer that this happened.
Along with that it seemed most of EU struggled much harder than NA to enter the game so all in all I feel like I made the right decision.

Personally, waited in front of login screen from 1:00 AM to 2:30 AM. Seeing no purpose in continuing and having to work today, I left.
But I expected nothing different, hope we stressed the servers enough :-)

Ah, a fine way to pass the time indeed!pan0phobik wrote: ↑5 years agoI spent the night playing Dark Souls 3 after 10 minutes of failure to log in.

I got into the stress test. Levelled a gnome warrior to 5. Headed to Elwynn forest. Joined a raid group. Headed to Durotar and owned the Valley of Trials for a few hours. At one point we had two raids going with maybe 50-60 Alliance. I should have footage if anyone wants to see.
