I think it would be great to bring back certain features of the worldofwarcraft.com website from back in the day. Things like Screenshot of the Day, the Fanart section, Community Spotlights, Holiday Contests, Wallpapers, the newsletter and all sorts of other things that used to be a regular part of the WoW community. I see a number of these things here in the forums, but I think it would really add to the community if some or all of these things were brought back in a more official way.
Have a look at the wayback machine and see what I mean if you don't remember, or weren't around at the time.

I do truly miss how much more the website was involved in the community. I particularly loved the screenshot of the day.
For sure, I like the look of oldschool websites. Check out the site for OSRS for example.
This wasn't in vanilla but anyone remember when you could choose a pose for your character in the armory? I think it was around WotLK. You could freeze-frame an animation and zoom in, so when people checked out your character they could see some really funny stuff.
Ooh, I suddenly remember that there was a gallery of one page comics made by fans, I loved that! ( or am I imagining things?)
Yea, the screenshots were great fun. I loved seeing players off in some unfamiliar corner of the world. That's a really good point about the OSRS website. It's an old school design and people may say it's just nostalgia and pointless, but you can see how the OSRS community actively uses the site. It just fits. I think Blizzard should take notes from that and resurrect the old website. If not, perhaps a fan site will step up!
Would love to see the screenshot contests back again. Always thought it was cool seeing the wacky things people could pull off just using the tools available in-game.

What would you guys say to have a screenshot of the day thing here on barrens chat? It might have to start with screenshot of the week though due to the number of submissions.

Absolutely, you could even start now with people submitting original vanilla WoW screenshots up until launch, then switch over to Classic WoW screenshots only?
