Is anyone else feeling the ever-building excitement/anxiety about booking time off work for release?
I check for release date news several times a day to make sure the moment we have confirmation I can submit a holiday request at work!
I've got one holiday booked for the end of June and knowing my luck it will release whilst I'm away.
I guess I could always try play WoW on a beach ...'insert Anakin sand meme here'...

I work one month on one off at sea, and I’ve got a huge college phase coming up which lasts from mid april until August so I’m probably fucked anyway.

@teebling as long as we're on the same server I'll always have time to run dungeons / boost you mate! Least I can do for the epic work you have done and continue to do with the site!
I'm planning a 3 week no-life leveling plan on release so hopefully have 2-3 60's at your disposal!
Unless I decide to betray the horde...
Me and my friends are planing to take some time off work for the release :) I am really exited and want a date and serverlist asap :P

I work a pretty standard 36 hours per week job, with flexible working hours, here in the UK. I will probably look to book a couple of days off around launch once the date is known.
I'm not going on holiday so I have to use my leave somewhere.
We'll see. The idea is tempting.

Kinda hard to say, seeing as we do not have an exact release date yet. If I get lucky the release will fall right on my university vacation...if not, it will release right before that during exam time T.T

I only work 5 hours a day but i cant take holidays and im also in the middle of doing my degree project, so the gods know how will I make time for Classic, but I guess its the same for most of us xD
All I know is that it will (hopefully) be worth it.

I've got 3 weeks of vacation time this year, and one of them might have to be used for Classic.

I'm just a lowly university student taking an additional 5 classes during the summer and working so I'm kinda screwed. But I suppose that's what Monsters and Tim Horton's are for, right?

I have planned on taking 5 days off so I could no life it for a week. We will see what happens when a date is released!

I'm hoping to take a day or 2 off at release. I don't think I'm going to take the first day off, might not even do the first week. Don't want to spend my time off praying for the servers to stabilize.

I'm not going to play on release or even the following 2 weeks at least because of the possibility of sharding. I work 3 12-hour shifts a week, so I'll already have quite a bit of time to play without actually taking time off. At the moment, I've got roughly 8 shifts worth of PTO saved, but we're required to request time off 3 to 6 months in advance, which is annoying.
From the slackened maw of the beast can only come chaos and destruction. Defend your people!

This is a good point. Like most expansions, the first few days of BFA were torture, the game was so hard to play due to instability. And for that, I DID take like 3 days off work so...

Stay Horde. We don't have gnomes in our faction. And we have a bunch of spikes on buildings to look scary.

I tried telling them I wanted to take 2 weeks off for Classic. They told me I had to schedule my time off in January and that they didn't really care about my game launch. So I've decided to quit the job entirely, find a new one and take a month off in the process.

I agree. And while it might be cool and a once (almost) in a lifetime experience you might end up just running to get fps and so on because it’s so clogged.

Man, I would love to take a few days off at launch. I must admit though that I'm currently switching to a 36 hour job (from 40), which allows me to work 9 hours on 4 days, allowing me to take an extra day of weekend! Wife will be working, kids will be at the grand parents (they love to babysit!) so that will give me the opportunity to play ALL day. Such luxury! It was pretty hard finding 'me-time' before, so I am really looking forward to this! :-)

I won't have much leave available as I have a few small trips booked this year. I don't expect I'll take time off, but we'll see - if it launches midweek I could maybe take off the Friday or Monday to have a long weekend to play a few days after launch in the hopes it is 'stable' by then.

I've got a flexible work schedule in addition to some vacation time, so it would almost be silly to not take a day off, and hopefully it releases on a Friday to make it easier for us. After all, those who were teenagers back then are in their 30s now with jobs!

I’ll most likely take around 3 weeks off for Classic.
But only because I saved up over 2 months of paid leave so I can still go on a proper vacation later.

3 weeks!? Two months!? Are you European? Lol, in any case I hope you have an awesome vacation outside of WoW. Super jelly.

In Australia working a regular 38 hour week, we accumulate 4 weeks annual leave (paid holiday leave) per year.
Then there is sick leave, we accumulate 10 days paid leave per year.
Then there is long service leave, when you have worked at one workplace for 10 years, you receive an additional amount of paid leave (I think 8 weeks?). But how long service leave is applied seems to vary from workplace to workplace.
I have taken two 5 week holidays in the last 4 years + other week long holidays/small breaks + 1-2 weeks forced leave over Christmas/New Year during work closure. The system is quite good and helps to keep employees motivated/rested/happier (in theory).
