Hey everyone, been a while since I posted a topic!
I thought it would be interesting to see what goals you guys have for Classic - specific achievements you want to reach for in the short-term and the long term with your characters. I've been thinking about what I want to do and this is my current plan anyway:
Hunter Main which I will spend 90% of my time on (I will hopefully avoid contracting the deadly Alt-itis this time round) - Level as BM or Survival to 60, taking it easy and enjoying the ride all the way. See all the low level dungeons, do a lot of World PvP and level up Mining/Engineering to 300 as I go, as well as Fishing, Cooking and First Aid.
Once I'm at max level, I want to run a lot of high level dungeons with friends collecting items for https://classic.wowhead.com/item-set=186. After that I want to upgrade to T0.5 https://classic.wowhead.com/item-set=515 through the awesome quest lines. This is my dream set. At some point I also want to wield https://classic.wowhead.com/item=18713 and https://classic.wowhead.com/item=18715/ ... nt-keepers through yet another long and challenging quest chain.
Once I have T 0.5/Rhok/Lhok I will be content as far as items go After that I don't see myself doing a lot of raiding (really just for the rhok/lhok quest items), and I won't push for high PvP rankings either.
I will probably at this point spend my time maxing out all Horde reputations, Timbermaw Hold, Argent Dawn etc. and farming a lot of ore. Once I have a decent amount of ore banked I'd drop Mining for Enchanting and farm dungeons and other solo content for . I'm also a collection freak so I will be looking for rarer pets to stable too.
With any gold surplus, and by this time I hope BGs are out, I will then begin working on properly fitting out a level 19 Ambush rogue for WSG, and a level 29 Shadow Priest for AB. Both are pretty expensive undertakings and this will probably keep me occupied for a long time. I think that it's pretty silly of me to have planned everything out to this stage in the first place, so going any further is ridiculous.
Who knows, I might change my mind all of a sudden. If I do I will be sure to quote this original post, call myself an idiot, and tell you all about it anyway What about you guys? Any ideas in particular or unusual goals?

I'm not sure it's an unusual goal. I don't find it even particularly original but my goal which I imagine is going to take a few years is full warrior tier 3. I never got to raid Naxx, my guild just started on BWL when BC dropped so all I have is the stories and the legend that is 'old Naxx'. All the other things I hope to gain in Classic are kinda a given in order to reach this. For instance the nessecary reputation, cohesive guild/community, a positive reputation, 40 man raiding, the gear sets up till then, going through all the pre-cata-ruined zones, etc.
I honestly hope it's going to be a long-ass journey.

Goals changes depending on what class you choose, according to me at least. I'm not sure yet which class I will go with, but I'm still leaning more towards Shaman.
I'm torn whether to go with Engineer, or Enchanting, because Engineer is sort of recommended—if not even required if you want to do good in PvP scenarios. Enchanting I just enjoy in general and is a good money maker.
But let's say I will go with following class and profession; Shaman and Enchanting.
Goals will of course be to get the mounts, both normal and epic later on. Enchanting might not be the first profession I go with, instead I'll go with Skinning and something else to gain coin as I level. Enchanting at level 60, and the goal is to have every formula there is and become a "main enchanter" for the server.
Getting good gear for the Shaman will be necessary too, and I know the chance of me being pushed into Restoration is big, even though Enhancement can offer great support in terms of Totem Twisting and Nightfall use. Restoration Shamans should focus on healing, while Enhancement got plenty of times to focus on Totem Twisting. It's both mana consuming and gives you no space to do anything else, hence why it's bad if Restoration Shamans does it.
Getting my hands on Sulfuras is a big dream, but one I think is not entirely possible just yet. We will see how that unfolds.
I also wish to complete every quest I can, and discover every part of the map. Nothing that an achievement list tells me to do, but which is an achievement in its own.
Later on, I want to get hold of the tablets that teaches you additional ranks on certain spells.
That's what comes up in my mind at the moment.

* hit lvl 60
* beat as much dungeons as possible along the way
* level up all my professions
* get into ah
* give at shot at raiding, see if it sticks
Besides that, maybe level up a few reputations, farm for this and that, I'll se when I'm there.
Mostly, I just really want to see all the instances, but not going to slow down my leveling for it, so probably alts will be included in this.

Some time ago, I had a long list of things I wanted to accomplish and do. After thinking about it extensively, I came to the conclusion that I just want to experience the feeling of a classic WoW server community. The good as well as the bad.
Therefore, my goals are simple:
- Befriend nice people
- Don't rush and enjoy the game
- Raid eventually
After all, I don't think the game would have been as successful as it was, if it wasn't for the social aspect.

I was able to attend the opening of AQ on one of the servers I played on which, besides the lag, was really cool to be part of. So that's one big goal of mine. It'd be awesome to be able to go through that entire epic quest line for the lore and scepter to https://www.wowhead.com/quest=8743/bang-a-gong#comments, but I guess I could always just read up on that elsewhere. Another goal that I'm actually going to use the AQ war effort for is to farm a bunch of Darkspear Troll rep so I can get a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=18790/ ... nge-raptor for my Orc.
Get more raiding in. I only did ZG and MC during vanilla. I didn't get a chance to obtain the Rhok'delar bow/staff/quiver set, but I want to graduate from those "Hunter College" demon quests and earn those items.
Leveling some alts is up there on my to-do list as well. After my 60 hunter, my next highest character during my time playing was a 46 warrior, so I don't really know what all the other classes had that was unique about them (leveling, special quests, etc.).
Sidenote: Nice work on this site. I like the Wowhead item-linking feature.
From the slackened maw of the beast can only come chaos and destruction. Defend your people!

Priority Goals:
- Level 60
- Get good gear to start raiding
- Get professions to max
- Get into AH trading as soon as possible
- Make friends
Less Important Goals:
- Exalted in every playable race
- Get a steady gold income by farming / grinding
- Finding a RP group
- Finding a PvP group
I'm sure I'm missing some stuff of course but this is my current list for when Classic launches since I've never played Vanilla and don't really know what to expect.
"May the eternal sun shine upon thee"

Goals for Classic:
Play two classes I've adored since BC, but never played in vanilla, Shaman and Warlock.
Actually get to raiding, only did simple dungeons in vanilla.
Play "more", and not dick around creating non-stop alts as I did back then.
Not take 6+ months to ding 60.
Revel in the fact that we finally get a place to play with some kind of permanence, which the private servers can't provide.

I opened this thread intending to write about my plans of playing the archetypal Hunter, exploring alongside my animal companion and seeking to master my professions alongside combat, and this is the first post I see.
Honestly, it's almost exactly how I intend to experience the game this time around, with perhaps slightly more emphasis on raid progression somewhere down the line.
I guess I'll be your Alliance equivalent!
Uncanny though, I'm really looking forward to it.

- Level up with friends while doing all quests and dungeons without quest helper.
- Experience lot of wpvp
- Do all raids
- Preferably join a non-hardcore guild
- Break the healing meters
- Make some new friends.
- Enjoy the sh*t out of the journey to 60, no rush.
- Level Mining/Engineering.
- Gear up with pre-MC blues.
- Get the https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1404/tidal-charm trinket.
- Make an old school playlist of all the songs from videos back in the day and go world PvP.
- Once BGs are released then farm for the best tabard ever made - https://classic.wowhead.com/item=20131/ ... e-defilers.
- But most importantly maintain a healthy WoW/life balance.

- Try to get to level 60 despite not having much time.
- Try to max out a crafting profession
- Complete at least 1 raid

These are great!
I also want to:
- Level a class I've never played(Hunter)
- Read the quests and explore Azeroth.
- Make gear for friends.
- Run dungeons with friends.
- Get rep to ride other races' mounts.

The primary goal is of course to clear Naxx, but I fully realize that might not be possible due to the huge time investment it is, and I can't know for sure where I am in my life at that point. I have the drive to get there, but I also have to be responsible with how much I put into the game. Still, having missed out on the raid content back in the day, I want to do BWL at minimum, Classic will be the last time the majority of players won't be that familiar with Vanilla raiding, or at least have to relearn it after ~15 years (I expect that Private Server players will be the minority), so I think to get the best possible experience, it's important to do it along with the initial wave of Classic players.
I really don't have many other clear goals than that, in regards to everything else I'm just going to take things naturally and enjoy the ride.
The primary goal is to find a nice group of players to raid with that goes along with my available hours these days, and within that to eventually clear Naxx. Everything outside of that is just playing the game and experiencing the world.

Well said, couldn't agree more.CBX wrote: ↑6 years agoSome time ago, I had a long list of things I wanted to accomplish and do. After thinking about it extensively, I came to the conclusion that I just want to experience the feeling of a classic WoW server community. The good as well as the bad.

As someone who has never really played WoW (played for a few days during WOTLK because my friend played it), I am thankful that I get to begin playing this game as similarly as possible to how everyone else did during vanilla. I want to read the quests, explore the world, join a guild and meet friends to do content with ect. It's going to be a blast!
Also just learning how to play this game is going to take a while. And it's going to be difficult knowing almost everyone has played WoW before and probably knows what they're doing. I'm going to go into it blind though because I feel that's the best way to experience it the vanilla way. Although I have looked up a few class/race choosing guides because it's such a hard choice! (I think I'm going human mage though)
When I reach level 60 (which should take me many months I reckon), I want to try raids also but that won't be for a while.
I'll see you all in game.

Likewise ; so simple an answer yet so rarely insisted upon.Selexin wrote: ↑6 years agoWell said, couldn't agree more.CBX wrote: ↑6 years agoSome time ago, I had a long list of things I wanted to accomplish and do. -Spying from the grave at the behest of the Kirin Tor. Roughly speaking.-

In order:
*Epic Mount
*Full Arcanist w/ Azuresong Mageblade
*Complete as many quests throughout the world as possible prior to PvP
*PvP/HWL
*Full Netherwind (T2)
*Complete ALL THE QUESTS!!
Along with all of these things I hope to relive the whole community experience I enjoyed so log ago and have wished for for the past 13 years.

My goal is to play and master for both pve and pvp/wpvp class I never played - hunter and also level up my long time main (which will be alt on classic) - orc rogue.
With hunter I want to make a name in world pvp battlefields so even while leveling it will be: red = dead for me. I am not usually playing like that so it will be challenge in itself. :)
Really looking forward to play hunter. I will not raid much, only for the Ancient Petrified Leaf. I would like to run dungeons for D1 & D2 set. :)

My goals exactly! Just raid for petrified leaf and get T0.5.s1atan wrote: ↑6 years agoMy goal is to play and master for both pve and pvp/wpvp class I never played - hunter and also level up my long time main (which will be alt on classic) - orc rogue.

True! I dont know why, but raiding scene of vanilla is not my cup of tea. But I love tbc raids! :D Weird.

I got loremaster on retail and as much as I never thought I'd say this, I think I'm going to do it again. My goals are to max as much of my character as I can...professions, rep, gear, etc.
