Hey all,
Wanted to share an idea with you guys for a little project I want to do and I need your help!
You might have come across a guy from reddit that does panoramic photography of World of Warcraft zones - here’s his website. Lots of folks are doing this now and producing some really beautiful work.
I’d like to do the same but for Vanilla, pre-cataclysm zones, perhaps photographing in private servers.Trouble is - as some of you may know - I work at sea so right now I don’t really have access to good internet or the time to invest in doing something like this.
How about we join forces and learn how to make pano photos for the vanilla world? Is anyone interested? We could publish them in the loot section as high def/dualscreen wallpapers and it will bring in some great traffic and new members.
Thoughts?

I'm happy to help, too. But like Markone said, I'd need someone to show me how to create a panoramic.
After taking them I could send them all to you via WeTransfer or a similar kind of platform?

I guess so? I've been trying to figure it out but it's not really something I've seen before.

Yeah that would work fine for me.
As for how to do it I’m not sure - maybe he uses pano software and some kind of other software to slowly rotate his character as it films. Or maybe takes several shots then stitches them together?

I did a little bit of research.
He did it via an Addon called "Panoshot".
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/panoshot
It's for retail WoW only tho.
It can also be done via a Macro "/run FlipCameraYaw(45)", but i don't know if Vanilla has that API function, can someone test?

I can try and test this later when I'm home from work?Syturio wrote: ↑6 years agoI did a little bit of research.

I'm necro'ing this ancient thread.
Have you gotten around to this?
I used to dabble a little bit in Photography and I know that Stiching Programs would work, also :)
Anyway let's get some shots going :D I'll try to find a suitable spot asap!
If this works in Classic then we should be good, will test when I get home.

Unfortunately there is no way to increase the view distance. Many places are so heavily "misty" that you cant really get Landscape shots.
I tried "/run FlipCameraYaw(45)", it works.
I just have no idea how to line the screenshots up because they're all slightly different perspectives, tried playing around in Photoshop but got a headache. Maybe someone a bit better at it than me can give it a go.

Wan’t there someone who posted a few weeks back about an addon that can do automated panning/yawing etc? This combined with screen recorder could do the trick. Can anyone find the topic? I’m out atm.
