Interesting. I might have to use these results to show a friend that leveling with a partner actually takes longer then it does solo. He is adamant that we will sit down to eat less, bandage etc and kill mobs quicker together.
I just remember vanilla not being very rewarding to people who leveled together other then killing an elite or a named mob. Doing quests where you have to collect items from mobs will take 3x as long I imagine.

The people who actually practiced and have developed routes/get in servers ASAP aren’t going to be far behind their repack times, general popular streamers just aren’t as good at speed leveling as they think they are. :/Judgement wrote: ↑6 years ago@ahmp Nice to see a /played similar to what we can get on private. All the streamers are pushing the narrative that everything will be so much slower but I disagree. The respawns can be a problem in some areas but special mob and item respawn being much faster makes up for it most of them time.
I only have stress test but I've leveled a few time to 10 so far and my /playeds are also similar, a little but slower but that's because I have to skip a few good quests and grind instead

Sup everyone! Hope everyone is doing fine and if not, I hope it gets better! The 2h04 could have been better by a 5-10 minutes but with everyone there playing with you and all decisions you need to make, can't really make better. Posted so it can give a rough ideas to some of us! Cheers

hey guys, what are the respawn time on quest items on beta like? for example the tools in the dwarven starter zone or the antidote ingredients in shadowglen?

1-10 as an undead priest on classic's stress test
I made a LOT of mistakes on this run, it could probably be down to 2hrs 15m or so by just removing those mistakes :)
My time was: 2hrs 43m

Quest items are quite fast respawn on the classic beta, I would say it's less then 1 minute but Im not 100% sure. These quests are usually worth doing compared to private where they had very long respawns and were impossible to do.
It's the same for named quest mobs like Princess or Garrick Proudfoot in Elwynn, less then 1 minute respawn.

Is layering introduced in beta?
How congested are/were starting zones?
If layering will stick to 3k people per layer as announced then it means "only" ~500 players per starting zone.
Much more manageable than any popular private server launch. This should make regular quest order better for speedrunning than any fedex /exploration routes or grouping to grind higher lvl mobs. Of course still could make sense to skip some quests with heavily camped objective not to waste time.
Do you agree?
1- 30 Beta PvE Server
Horde Druid
Time: 1 Day 35 min.
Did this in two sittings. No rested - did not log out in an inn.
Notable difference from private servers: ARMOR!! As a druid, youre hitting things for like 20 in bear form at level 15. It's very frustrating. Harpies in Barrens comes to mind as the most annoying armor wise. Probably took me an hour to do that quest line total.
I think I can shave about 2 hours off by grinding a lot more in the early 20s. Running around between ashenvale/barrens/stonetalon is so inefficient.
Mediocre. Fairly slow. 3:54 (I can get it down to 3:30, some inaccuracies) - but I had literally 0 competition outside of 1 quest that took 11 mintues.

I'm still a fan of the option, but gotta fine-tune it. Still a fine choice if there's 100 people in your zone.
Yes, during the start of the stress test when there was the maximum amount of people online I was still able to do most of the starting area quest in a decent time. You need to be sharp with your tagging skills though, or grouping with someone for better chances to tag. If you can just reach 4 or maybe 5 you can leave starting area and start combine some of the easier quests with grinding and you should be good.Shadire wrote: ↑6 years agoIs layering introduced in beta?

I've been watching some streams lately and i've seen a couple of speedrunners which have a timer running on a part of their screen comparing their current time against their personal best. Is this an addon or some standalone program outside of wow?
Pretty new to speedrunning. I don't really have much of route for 1-10 in durotar. Been following Joana's guide but want to get a good 1-10 down for release so I can beat the pack at least before I have to go to bed and work the next day.
Do you guys have any good suggestions on routes etc?
There isn't a route that can guarantee you getting a head of the pack from 1 to 10. You can get a speedrunning route to use as baseline for the rest of your route.PBandJelly wrote: ↑6 years agoPretty new to speedrunning. I don't really have much of route for 1-10 in durotar. However, as far as 1-10 at launch goes you should make yourself familiar with all the quests in the zone and figure out what you need to do depending on the situation you end up in.
Yeah essentially that's what I have been doing. Memorizing all the quests and doing them efficiently as possible. I've got a baseline of 1-10 in 3 hours in Durotar on Northdale which is insanely crowded right now. Will keep trying to shave off sometime.Massivechonk wrote: ↑6 years agoThere isn't a route that can guarantee you getting a head of the pack from 1 to 10. Twitch Channel, feel free to take a look :)!

Loch Modan > Darkshore > Turn a few quests in Ashenvale (escort) > Back to Loch Modan where I did Bingle's quest, quarry, In the defence of the king's land (last two parts) and Hunter's Lodge.
