Finally finished a run to 10 on the repack closed server. I still had a pretty big mistake towards the end that set me back so I'm fairly convinced I can get that sub 2 hour with a few adjustments. The recent increase in posting in this thread has given me a lot of motivation, thanks for sharing your times!
2hour 8m 10s

Getting there man! Grats to all other submissions as well kind of cool to see this taking off

@stattick Nice time! Will get you added when I get a chance, thanks for sharing!
E: Updated leaderboards.

Just did a testrun as UD warlock on Northdale, a lot of mistakes and next run will be a lot faster. Taking a break from mana classes now though

Too much ganking for my taste on ND atm, makes any kind of time recording less than relevant! Heading back to closed server to continue the good fight :) It's not a Light's Hope repack unfortunately so not sure it will be reasonable to compare apples to apples. It's been adjusted to vanilla.

@Alenya this was pretty much my thoughts as well, it’s even worse Horde side. Which are you using and what are the differences from the light’s hope repack?

Ye I will probably play on Lightbringer from now on, just because there's almost no one leveling there and it's basically the same server.

It's a custom project, not mine, with all the values adjusted for vanilla. The dev designed it as an update for mangos/light's hope.
The main differences are:
Mob densities adjusted back down to vanilla, especially caves
Mob armor/hp corrected to vanilla (as much as info available)
Grey/white/green etc loot drop rate adjusted back down to vanilla
Bag drop rate adjusted back down to vanilla
Quest XP rates 30-60 adjusted back down to vanilla
Health, mana and focus regen adjusted down
Non vanilla:
Mob spell AI modified to be reactive instead of timing-based
Some encounters custom coded to work around bugs or where LH hardcoded them (eg Murkdeep)
I've been using it the last year or so to write an alliance guide.

@Alenya I know for sure they already fixed quest XP 30-60 before they launched Northdale so the repack has the correct values for
those. Any plans to share your Alliance guide or just for personal reference? Also, could you link the closed server?

The alli side guide will be out before classic, it's nearly done.
Closed server you can access by asking the dev, it's almost always up. Find him @ Fuzedknight#5497
There's a discord but I can't remember how to share it

@Alenya alright, thanks! Looking forward to giving your guide a read over, is there a Horde version as well? Been working on my own write up but I think I’m just going to focus on 1-10 or 1-20 as a “getting ahead of the pack” Hunter guide of sorts, just don’t see myself having enough time to do a full 1-60 write up and test everything over and over the way I’d want to.

No you're right, I was the same as you I think, wanted to practise and get some extra tricks to get ahead of the pack. It's taken two years to get the thing written up as far as it has.Jpy wrote: ↑6 years ago@Alenya alright, thanks! Looking forward to giving your guide a read over, is there a Horde version as well? Hordeside I think Joana's guide is as good as it gets, especially since Paul updated it recently.
Anyone planning to have a crack at Elysium's fresh vanilla end of March?

@Alenya won’t have time personally :/
E: feel free to share your times at various levels for that launch.

Shall do - going to track the whole launch time experience, both for levelling times and also to see how long it takes to pull clear of the pack. Should be a big one!

I'm really enjoying this video @Jpy there's a lot I can learn from this hah. I also plan to play Hunter at launch. Please continue with making videos if you have time.

@acrmojt I recorded a bit of grinding at 39 last night in Desolace at a spot I hadn’t tried before. Long story short it’ll be added to my route for at least 38-40 and potentially 40-41 as well. I’ll see about uploading sometime today.

Well done to everybody for the submissions. Will be trying an enhance shammy run v soon to 10.

Monkeynews was able to hit 10 in ~1:37:08 on Lightbringer (er, whatever was just before Northdale) as a Dwarf Warrior. Doesn't quite fit the theme of this thread, but it might be an interesting bench mark for people here.
P.S. - Registered just to post in this thread :)

@easybot that’s quite a good time and well worth the watch. I’ve seen some of his videos in the past but thanks for sharing.

Solid run to 10 on repack, it's been modified from LH to more vanilla values so I don't think it's valid for a leaderboard run, but pretty pleased with it anyhow. 2h 9min, a full 7.47min off my PB.

@Alenya I trust your run to be realistic so I’ll add it when I get a chance m8. Nice time also!
E: I’ve done 3 runs at 2h 8m now so I’m feeling cursed..

Cheers and thanks! We've done a lot of work to make it vanilla-esque for realistic times.
