Makes me reconsider my choice of going Alliance. 
Horde is generally more PvP focused and have the upper hand due to racials, where Alliance have the upper hand in PvE due to Paladins

Hey everyone! It's getting close! Myself and my leadership are excited for the upcoming release as I am sure you are as well. As such we are beginning the recruitment process for a competitive end game guild. Server TBA (Obviously). We are certainly aware of the undertaking that is Vanilla raiding and we are more than ready to tackle it. We are experienced raiders that have been raiding since Vanilla until current day. I know this is early but I want to get an early jump for everyone that wants to be a part of it!
Raid times are TBD. However we expect that if you are selected for raiding that you are present for raids, and on time. Wiping is a part of Vanilla. If you are unable to maintain a professional attitude, or are unable to take feedback this isn't the guild for you. Feedback will be given to every raider (yes including myself) if it is warranted. Mistakes are a thing, we are human, and we will work with you to get over the barrier. That being said, if the same mistake is happening and is detrimental to progression you will be benched until we can coach it further. Looting will be through DKP. We had much discussion over DKP vs Loot Council and decided that DKP is the fairest way to distribute loot and eliminate favoritism (or the perception thereof). Seniority will not be taken into account. We will have a Loot Officer, however his job is not distribution based on his discretion. He will be running the bidding process and handle any queries. He will keep a running tab on DKP and loot distributed.
Policies:
Open Door - This is number 1 for a reason. We will have either myself or an Officer ready to talk to you about whatever you may need. Whether it is in-game our out-of-game, our raiders and casual members are important to us. We also understand that people have lives and life happens to people. We are always willing to step into a private and locked voice channel to have a discussion. The discussion will stay between you and the leader you spoke with. That means no other leader or guild member will know anything about your conversation. The only exception is if there is immediate and real danger out-of-game to yourself or anyone around you.
Loot: Loot will be handled through DKP. Myself as the GM will not be involved in the looting. We will have a Loot Master handle bidding and distribution as well as questions.
Attendance: All raiders must maintain 80% attendance. As stated before, we know life happens. If you have an extenuating circumstance, we will have an Officer available to have that discussion. Please give us as much notice as possible. We would prefer 48 hours so we can replace your position for said raid night to be missed.
Benching: The dreaded words "You're benched". This is a promise to you, we will not bench you out of spite. Benching is reserved for cases needing extended coaching or comp swapping. Bench does not mean kicked out.

- you mention dkp, but is this straight dkp... even for exceptional items like thunder fury? What are the parameters to bidding... Do certain classes have loot prio on certain items? How will you deal with items that are BiS for one class and not another?
- how will your dkp system work, is there decay? how often do you reset or decay dkp??? or does it just accumulate forever... this would be very problematic as im sure youre aware from your extensive raid history.
- also new recruits may be interested in your history, you mention you have been raiding since retail vanilla... what is your progression / timers / logs for your private guild or the last competitive guild you ran?
Not intended to pick apart your post, I wish you the best, I just know a lot of guests are constantly cycling through, myself included, and may not take the time to ask. Hopefully this will drum up some conversation.
Nice! I like guilds that have alternate opinions, like a enh/ele shaman/balance druid group utilising nature debuff and moonkin aura.

I'm looking for a friendly and casual, older player oriented Guild. Will probably play 1 to 2 hrs during weekdays in the evenings, and 4-6 hrs during weekends (not every weekend though). So extremely casual. I hope to do some dungeons, maybe dabble in raids and random BG's. I'm not opposed to rolling on a PvP server, as long as it's not one of those "streamer" servers where the big streamers are located in.

I'm looking for people to join our guild, DemoServer7
Our origin
DemoServer7 formed during the BlizzCon Classic Demo. Myself and several others found ourselves nostalgic over the old guild system, and so we made a discord in order to link together when playing the demo.
It was quite fun, leveling alts to 19 and raiding the Wailing Caverns and Southern Barrens with a dozen other “max levels”. Alas, all things must come to an end, and so too did the demo.
We decided to keep the fire going with our discord, naming it DemoServer7 because we were all on the 7th demo server (obviously) and now we’re looking for fresh blood to leap into Classic with us!
What we offer
We’re a (currently) small, homebrew guild with not much besides nostalgia and vigor. We’re leaning towards a more casual scene at the start, but we would not be opposed to high level raiding and PVP once everyone gets the swing of things!
We want to make the most fun, comfortable and welcoming guild we can! All are welcome, and if you have a goal in mind for Classic WoW, let the guild help you accomplish it!
If you miss the 40 hour Alterac Valleys, or the dreadful deathrun to the Wailing Caverns entrance, or even just chatting with fellow players, then we’ll be right for you!
Specific details
As of writing this forum post we have 11 members in the discord. It was just resurrected yesterday from its winter hiatus, so it’ll be slow for a bit, but that’s what this post is for!
We have a strong core of players in EST, but also have members on the west coast as well. Any and all guild events will be planned within the happy median between the two coasts (no one should miss out!)
I have experience in leadership and as an officer in several guilds and will be looking for other kind, strong leaders to be officers in this community as well, in addition to normal players.
Also, taking suggestions on a new name. DemoServer7 is unique… but a little stale.

We are old friends who found each other again through Classic WoW. Since we like to play together and we don't want to run the risk that we can't all go into the same guild, we decided to make our own.
Our goal is to clear the PvE content as quickly as possible so we can concentrate on the fun things. At the beginning of each phase we will raid progress, as soon as the content is clear we will postpone everything to one evening.
The only thing that matters to us is that you're older than 22. We're all heading towards 30 now. Furthermore you have to be able to understand fun even more important is that you can deal with criticism, criticism is NEVER meant bad by us, we all only want the best from our members!
The core of the players is currently from Germany, but we will try to build an international guild. That's why English is spoken in the guild chat. In Discord you can decide if you want to speak English or your own language with your friends.

This is an NA guild based on Eastern Time (UTC -4).
Raid comp is yet to be determined and will have a lot to do with what people are wanting to play. That being said, having a specific comp across 40 people is a nightmare so I'll just list the things I would like to see in my raid. First I'd like a balance druid for moonkin aura and nature debuff. Second if at all possible I'd like a shadow priest to boost warlock dps (taking advantage of the 16 debuff slots) however SPriest is not required just would be nice. If anyone has specific comp questions or would like to know if their class is being accepted I'd love to talk with them in DM's.
Guild structure. I will start with leadership and go into discord and website. My leadership will consist of myself, a loot officer, a raid officer, and then class officers. The loot officer will handle anything and everything to do with loot, him and I are currently discussing your DKP and loot questions and we will have this ironed out shortly. The raid officer is not necessarily the raid leader. Raiding is a ways off yet and theres really no reason to designate someone specifically for that yet as someone may step up and naturally take that role which I am open to. Rather he will be the officer that the class officers report to. He will be able to assist the class officers with coaching, assignments, specs, etc. And then the class officers will be in charge of making sure that those of their class are running optimal specs, enchants, rotations, healing assignments for healers, targeting for dps and interrupts for dps. Standard class officer things. Website is being coded as we speak and will be up and running hopefully in the near future. And we will be using discord.
For DKP the stuff I can answer are, no DKP will not decay but there will be diminishing returns to prevent hoarding. We are currently discussing values. Classes whose BiS drops will have priority (we are after all trying to build an optimized competitive raiding guild). There are multiple factors besides a DKP bid that go into legendary items that don't have as much weight, but their purpose is to prevent hoarding DKP for said items. In other words a raider would need to earn legendaries and can't just "buy" them out from under other equally deserving raiders.
As far as my history and my leaderships history I will update my profile to reflect mine and will be happy to DM anyone my officers' history.
I hope that helped clarify some things. I know we are still ironing some things out but rest assured we will have it all on paper ready to go before launch.

We don't expect everyone to go 110% no-life to min-max every aspect of their performance, but we do expect competence, efficiency, and a willingness to excel from all of our members. Our experienced players are willing to help guild mates run dungeons, get attuned, and understand their class, gearing choices, rotations, and the raid encounters. We'll gladly take a proactive player who is learning a new class over a veteran who isn't willing to put forth the effort.

I've always played on EU since the open Beta 14 years ago (I'm Danish) and all my friends and family play there so it cannot be helped sadly..
Actually I've never had any problems at all with the delay. It's not like back in actual vanilla where everyone sat on 500ms, I never go over 250ms even at its worst and I never notice even the slightest that there is a delay.
We do have an Aussie joining already actually as far as I remember, and a few Americans too, as the raid times just fit better for some people, and it's fantastic for offpeak farming :p Gathering people has been a little rough, but it's really coming together now :D

In the modern world some of us can no longer sink 8+hrs a day into playing a video game, it can be hard to find a solid Game / Work / Life balance, this is where Grimm Fortune comes in. Grimm Fortune is a Horde AU and NZ based guild setting up for the release of classic, we aim to be a Semi-Hardcore guild that raids quickly and efficiently 2-3 nights a week. The aim of Grimm Fortune is to provide a fun and successful raiding environment where bosses die in a timely manner, we want to efficiently complete raids while providing our members time to still maintain a healthy life outside of the game. Run by a previous Vanilla Naxx raider Grimm Fortune is aiming to be a fun yet competitive guild that runs on a tight schedule.
FULL - Accepting casuals only.
Additionally, we will take players as backup to the core team for all classes. Other specs will be considered on an individual basis.
Grimm Fortune is a mature age guild aimed at players over the age of 18. Players will be expected to gear up to the best of their ability before raiding begins, and to bring enough of their own consumables to each raid (flasks, potions.etc) once raiding has begun. There will not be a requirement on professions, although engineering is advised if you have no strong desire to have a different profession.

I'm a 31 year old guy from Sweden that is an old-school World of Warcraft player. I have played all expansions except the last one, however I haven't played seriously ever since WOTLK or so.
I intend to get back to playing World of Warcraft regularly when classic hits. However these days I don't have the same time I used to back in the days, since I have work and 3 kids. I am looking for a mature, casual raiding guild that don't have strict attendance requirements for the times I can't attend due to kids/work.
I do however intend to play as much as possible, and would probably prefer a guild that have 1-2 raid nights a week.
Back in the day I have played most classes, but have always preferred tank/healing in group activities so there is a strong possibility of me rolling priest or druid as main class on release, but haven't made up my mind yet.
EDIT: forgot to mention, I strongly prefer playing as Horde but it isn't a strict requirement.
I know there are LOTS of people who will be looking for a casual raiding guild. Many of us are living our best adult lives and don't have the time to dedicate to hardcore raiding. I want to start a guild that would be something like this:
- Raid 1x per week on Tuesdays/Wednesday evenings alternating (I'm a shift worker and can't dedicate the same day every week)
- See if there is interest in doing a second raid TBD on a per week basis (if not enough interest no biggie)
- Otherwise just do stuff in the world together.
Mainly I'm concerned people would be deterred by having alternating raid days rather than a fixed day, but I imagine shift workers would enjoy it. Would you join a guild with this structure even if you are a 9-5 worker? Why or why not?
I would absolutely be interested, as long it was Horde. My time to play is usually weeknights. Weekends are always busy. Personally it wouldn't matter to me that the exact day per week changes just as long as it is planned ahead.
Sadly finding something like this difficult, at least in my experience.

Tarren Thrills strives to maintain a close-knit, friendly community that lacks no single ounce of bloodthirst towards our enemies; whether it be in the battleground or in the most remote corner of the titan-forsaken Hinterlands, members strive to come out on top and conquer all who oppose them. We aim to take part in as much PvP as possible - with a special focus on the world - and as BG’s are released, to take those by storm as well. What Do We Want?
Above all, Tarren Thrills seeks to have… well, just that - thrills! Vanilla is the greatest version of this game to world PvP in, and thus do we seek to take full advantage of that. From small gank groups touring the continent to large scale, all-out wars over the terrain of each of the unique zones, we strive to have the most fun possible fighting, killing, and dying in the bloodiest and most glorious (or lowliest) way. We welcome anyone with a knack or interest in fighting and/or brutally murdering other players in all types of settings and situations.
PvP, cool. What about gear? Raids?
The early-dungeon gear grind is something we will obviously be taking advantage of; after all, you DO need at least some gear to pile up corpses of enemies. And assuming we can garner enough support and gain enough constant membership, raiding will be something we can easily achieve.

- Full guild member support (e.g. anti-gank calls)
- Ganking, skirmishes, battles-- safespotting
- Incursions into the heart of enemy territories, including cities
- Being apart of fun, like-minded people who maybe don’t have crazy amounts of time to play
- Call to Arms events hosted by the guild; bounties on Alliance players
- Tons of HKs, higher standing within the old honor system
- Organized events and coordinated fights (w/ voice chat, too)
- Tons of AV (hopefully premades)
- Real organic PvP the way you remember it.
The Realm Problem
Because we currently have no information about realms for Classic, plans are TBA. Rest assured that every measure will be taken to find a home the likes of retail-Emerald Dream.
Keep in mind that the guild and all associated info are still in the process of being created. More info will become available with time. I hope to see some bright new faces of the Horde soon!

We are looking for experienced and non-experienced players to join our family styled guild, we are wanting to build our ranks prior to Classic so we can get a head start on helping out our guildies with leveling, dungeons, farming and more.
