All of the above.

My only character I was dedicated to in Vanilla through Path 3.1 (Ulduar) was my Orc Hunter. Runner up was a level 44 warrior. This time, I want to try and play every class to 60.

The Scarab Gong looms ominously before you. Steel yourself, adventurer; for once the Scarab Gong is rung, the gates of Ahn'Qiraj will be opened.
From the slackened maw of the beast can only come chaos and destruction. Defend your people!

Looking forward to community engagement and social aspect the most - people buffing each other, helping with combat and quests, strangers becoming acquaintances, and acquaintances becoming friends.

Since there's (hopefully) no server hopping, no sharding, no cross-realm groups, no character changes - your reptutation is tied to your name, and always follows you. And considering Classic's design encourages organic teamwork, if you're being helpful towards other players, they'll most certainly return the kindness.

Dungeons, raids, quests, atmosphere... that's all still great to me, but in Classic, it was the community that created most memorable moments.

Well said! That's one thing I'm excited for. Your reputation being tied to your name and everyone knowing who you are.

Ranking, World-PvP, Worldboss scouting, Corpse Camping uhm ye, Corpse Camping.
I can only imagine how many people are going to rage at camping. I had it done to me in 2013 but I'm sure it's different in Vanilla.
Do you know the Legend of Angwe? (http://liquidcode.org/~lostman/wow/dkes ... uff/angwe/)

Missing one goal: becoming obscenely wealthy! Instead of the peasant I was in Vanilla.

Enchant, raid pots and respeccs drove me into poverty!

Haha, I also plan on farming a lot! Lately throughout expansions I have had no problem with gold, so will be making the same effort in classic

Playing with close friends. When I played WOW back in the day I had some really awesome guild mates, who I've now lost but I was a 12 year old kid and I'm sure they were just putting up with me. Now I've got a group of friends that I've been playing games with since high school. Essentially I'm most excited for the social aspect, but also just excited for the whole experience.

I've been a roleplayer since day one and things really just haven't been the same since CRZ and sharding. I'm looking forward to RP being more organic and the server community being more "real" in a way. Things today feel much more temporary and transient than they did back then. There was a sense of permanency that just isn't present today, for a number of reasons but mainly because the community is more fluid due to sharding. I'm also looking forward to actually seeing people out and about in the world. I'm leveling an alt right now on retail and I made it to level 100 without seeing more than a handful of other players actually in the world outside of Stormwind. It makes the "World of Warcraft" feel dead and empty, and as an avid RPer that just sucks.

Side note, as an RPer, I'm looking forward to our characters being regular joes, adventurers and mercenaries working their way up in the world from nothing, as opposed to "champion, personal chosen emissary of the entire faction, leader of your entire class, godkilling unstoppable monster" that we are in lore today. It's much easier to get into character when you start out helping little old ladies pick their grape crops and work your way up to the heroics.

I feel the only answer is the entire game.
The RPG element, Community (Randomly meeting someone while questing and end up becoming friends), Questing, Raiding, Running Dungeons, World PVP all link together to make vanilla, Vanilla! Well at least for me!

But if I had to choose one thing that stands out it would be friends/community/guild.
Alot of my friends played back then and we were in an awesome guild and i could remember logging on and doing random things that doesnt lead to anything, just for the fun of it.

Like sitting in Black Rock Mountain throwing people in the lava with Mind Control and our guild waiting for 40 man raids that are running to BWL and have an epic fight before we raid.

Or while leveling an alt, getting ganked so you log in on your main to kill him. Which causes him to get reinforcements and soon its a full blown 10 v 10 or more world pvp match lol. Basically waste a good 3 hours, but was worth it.

Or just hanging around the cities and chatting

In modern wow (last played legion) it was log in port everywhere to complete tasks then log off. I felt in vanilla you log on as second life as corny as that sounds but it felt real. Running to where you need to be or take the flight point and experiencing things on the way that could side track you.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean lol. My brother and I used to sit in front of the entrance to Wailing Caverns, in that little nook that hangs above the pool fishing up and cooking Savory Deviate Delights. There were much more profitable uses of our time, but we had great fun doing it.

Exactly!

I mean not just at max level either because like everyone says its the journey to 60.
I could remember just exploring westfall, duskwood, redridge, etc and not worrying about how fast can i get to 60 and how fast i can get BiS and how fast can i quit to play a different game because i beat WoW.

I can't wait for the unknown, the I am logging on my level 10 and say i want to get to level 12 but end up not even getting to 11 or even getting anywhere because i was busy fishing or doing something i wasn't expecting when first logged on.

Yeah @Nyxt I'm looking forward to mostly world pvp and community but the journey to 60 alone, the accomplishment you get from hitting 60.

It would be cool to know when you started playing too.

I started back in Wrath during the Uld patch and for me it's definitely the community aspect. It was still around in Wrath and really started to decline one they added LFG and LFR cross realm play.

Back then a realm used to basically be a small town community. You knew most people on the realm, you knew the guilds, you knew the trouble makers, and you knew who you should be afraid of seeing out in the wild (on a PvP server).

I never got the opportunity to play in classic so I'm excited for the new content along with the community back.

We did a poll about this a while back if you're interested in seeing the results: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1167

The search function is a powerful tool. Perhaps too powerful
