This seems to be a couple: Troyas Moonbreeze and Angelas Moonbreeze. I got it in my head that maybe this was one of the developers and their spouse, since the names are close to the common real-world names Troy and Angela. They were given two cats named Jacob and Jewel, so maybe those were their cats in real life? This would have been created over 20 years ago so if they were real people, they're probably long gone from the company.
These NPCs disappeared in Cataclysm, sadly, along with another NPC with the same surname in Auberdine. There are so many other little set pieces like this throughout the world and I always enjoy coming across each one of them as I level. I highly recommend zooming in and looking around when you're in a town picking up quests or shopping for supplies.
This sort of thing really appeals to me in WoW. Taking it slow and looking around. Exploring all the little details in inns and random settlements. MoP taverns in particular always amuse me with their random clutter.
I have a bad habit of logging on to check stuff off the list and instead I am inside a random house number ten looking up what this weird-named npc is
but honestly this is the difference between i completed some quests and got my dopamine and onto the next thing
and like this is *my* game, my safe space and I will be back next wednesday
I swear I kept a character journal early on somewhere, like pen and paper
How cool it will be to stumble upon that one day digging through stuff!
