PvE Holy Paladin Healing Guide

tbc classic pve holy paladin dps guide burning crusade classic

Holy Paladins are undeniably the strongest single-target healers in the entire expansion. We’re the ones that often get called upon to heal our main-tank, while other healers cover the group healing. In this guide we will explore everything you need to know to get you prepared to start healing in raids and heroics!

Best Races

Alliance

Human: While Humans are the best race for Protection Paladins, it’s not necessarily that easy for healers since the only racial that benefits us would be The Human Spirit. Like all stats, Spirit is beneficial in its own right. However, the regeneration that it brings starts outside combat, rather than during it.

Dwarf: Dwarves have Stoneform, which doesn’t benefit us that much. It’s an increase in armor and immunity to bleeds, disease and poison effects. However, as a Paladin we are able to clear all of those and being immune to all incoming damage for up to 12 seconds using Divine Shield.

Draenei: Draenei are given a free heal, Gift of the Naaru, that scales with your level. At level 70, it heals for over 1,000 over 15 seconds on a 3-minute cooldown. This works out to be roughly 200+ healed every 3 seconds. Draenei Paladins are also given Heroic Presence, which not only increases their hit chance, but also everyone in their party.

Horde

Blood Elf: While Blood Elves are your only choice for Paladins if you wish to play on the Horde, Blood Elves do carry a few bonuses. The first of which is that they have increased intellect and thus more mana. The other bonus that Blood Elves bring is Mana Tap and Arcane Torrent.
