Legion World of Warcraft Companion App Released

Legion World of Warcraft Companion APp Header

It appears that Blizzard have looked at one of the biggest complaints of the previous World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor. Most players complained that they had to spend too long in their garrisons, managing their followers and equipment and sending them all out on missions. Today, September 6th Blizzard are releasing their companion mobile app that ensures that Legion players will be able to manage certain aspects of gameplay without even logging into the game.

The World of Warcraft companion app, available for android and iOS released at some point today will take some of the onus away from Class Hall management meaning you’re free to romp and stride through the fel-scorched lands of the Burning Isles unfettered. Well, ok maybe slightly fettered.

So what exactly will you be able to do on this new companion app?

  • manage and equip your followers
  • send your followers on missions and complete them
  • train new troops
  • research your Class Hall talents
  • see which world quests are currently active (once you hit level 110 of course)

As most people at least, have to leave their computer at some point and do all those other triflingly boring things such as earn money, eat, sleep and engage with other human beings socially. This app is a welcome addition to help remove the tedium from the micro-management parts of Legion.

To put it another way, now we all have a way to inject some World of Warcraft into those less World of Warcrafty parts of our life such as, I don’t know, earning money, eating, and engaging with other human beings socially.

If you’ve never played, or have left World of Warcraft then the release of Legion is a pretty good reason to come back and see what’s changed.
