PvE Enhancement Shaman Rotation, Cooldowns, & Abilities

pve tbc enhancement shaman rotation, cooldowns,& abilities

In this section we will be covering the optimal rotation for reaching your maximum damage output.

Single-Target Rotation

Our first objective would be to summon our totems – this is generally group-dependent, but often times would include Strength of Earth Totem.

We’ll want to be using Stormstrike whenever it is off cooldown.

Next we will prioritize using Earth Shock since Stormstrike‘s debuff increases Nature damage to the target.

After that, we’ll want to use Flame Shock.

Multi-Target/AoE Rotation

We’ll lay down Fire Nova Totem first, followed by Magma Totem when Fire Nova Totem is on cooldown.

We’ll be using Flame Shock on multiple targets.

Prioritizing the Fire Nova Totem and Magma Totem swapping, we’ll continue to use our Single-Target Rotation at this point.

Totem Twisting

The theory behind Totem Twisting is to keep both Windfury Totem and Grace of Air Totem‘s effects active on your party at all times, simultaneously, despite using one totem or the other will automatically cancel the other.

When you use Windfury Totem, it provides a 10-second buff (or enchant, if you will) to your party’s main-hand weapons. During this time, you can use Grace of Air Totem while maintaining the effect that Windfury Totem has on the weapons. Totem Twisting will see you recasting Windfury Totem and Grace of Air Totem every 10 seconds. This process is highly mana-intensive and is not recommended without at least Totemic Focus since you would likely not be grouped with Shadow Priests, for example, for the mana regeneration.

As a rule of thumb, you can downrank Windfury Totem and just use Rank 1 to save yourself some mana since the main benefit of Windfury Totem is the extra attack, not necessarily the additional attack power.
