Bladefist’s TBC Classic Horde Leveling Guide

bladefists tbc classic horde leveling guide burning crusade classic

Welcome to our TBC Classic Horde Leveling Guide for Levels 58-70! The goal with this guide is to help you level quickly with little to no grinding, by focusing on questing in an efficient manner. Pay attention to what level you’re at as you go through the guide, and if you find you’re ahead of the curve, you can skip some of the quests that require you to wait for mobs to respawn!

Please note that although the guide begins at level 58, it will be much easier to pick up all the quests in the guide if you are level 59 or 60 before you begin the guide. If you are completing quests without killing any extra mobs, there may be points throughout the guide where you find that you cannot take a quest because you aren’t high enough level. This is because the guide is designed with optimal pathing in mind, and to do only the low level quests first would require much more backtracking. If you ever can’t take a quest the guide tells you to grab due to low level, your best bet is to farm in one of the locations listed after each section, or do a few dungeon runs if you can find a good group.

The guide is organized by zone, and there are suggested routes for picking up and completing quests for each zone. However, depending on the population of your server, you may find that you can’t kill all the stuff you need to simply because someone else got there and killed it all before you did. With that in mind, at the end of each zone in this guide there is information on dungeons and other ways to earn extra XP.

This guide is a work in progress — we will continue to update and optimize it, as well as add and improve sections. Suggestions are always welcome!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Quest helpers and coordinates add-ons will drastically improve your effectiveness while leveling up. Coordinates are added for most of the objectives. NPCs and quest objectives are linked to TBC database with location marked on the map.
  • You should always try to get back to a main city to train new skills anytime you ding an even level, once you reach a town with a flight path. You’ll be able to clear stuff much quicker with your new skills! If you’re at a spot where the directions say to hearthstone back somewhere, you can save your hearthstone and use it to return once you’ve finished training new skills.
  • The order you pick up quests matters! If there are multiple quest pickups, do them in the order listed, or you’ll be left wondering why you can’t pick some up.
  • To maximize XP gain in case you can’t complete quests (due to competition for the mobs), make sure you’re killing mobs as you travel from one point to another — you don’t need to stop and eat/drink every time, but if you’re full hp/mana, kill a mob by the road, then keep traveling.

Pretty sure you can’t take BOTH “News from Zangamarsh” and “News for Rakora” as they are mutually exclusive.

You missed out the quest: “Synthesis of Power” offered by the Scryer dude Voren’thal upstairs. This was available for me when I first arrived, although I was level 65 at the time. Might be gated, might just be you missed it.

Another head’s up, but since you tell us to take the Safari quests from the camp on the way up, we can’t take “The Nessingwary Safari” from Ohlarn?) in Garador. This is a breadcrumb quest and become unavailable if you accept follow up quests. Pleae make a note of this in your guide, or simply send people to Garadar FIRST :/

At around the point where you say to turn in the Murkblood Invasion Plans, you can also probably hand in the first set of beads for Proving your Strength, since we twatted tons of ogres

Ummmm…..

  1. “Talk to Jorin Deadeye to turn in&nbspcomment image An Audacious Advance, accept&nbspcomment image An Audacious Advance.

WTF? Pretty sure the next quest is Diplomatic Measures…

I’m guessing you maybe didn’t put these in Nagrand section, coz you send us off to Blade’s Edge Mountains, but there’s a couple breadcrumb quests you missed for the final zones. “A Strange vison” – Seer Nakha and “Kroghan’s Report” – Captain Kroghan send you to Area 52, and Shadowmoon Village respectively.

On the return to Zangamarsh from Nagrand, there will also be a breadcrumb quest available that sends to back to Garadar. This actually oops up around level 64 so players can head to Nagrand if they want to skip Terrokkar, but is apparently still available even after having completed Nagrand. Free XP I guess.

Take the road south, and go east (left) at the second fork to follow the path through the mountains at (55, 73).

East on the map would be right, not left. It’s only “left” when facing south in game. Don’t add unnecessary directions that confuse the issue. Just leave this as East

  1. Head to the western side of the Circle of Blood to speak with Baron Sablemane, turn in&nbspcomment image A Boaring Time for Grulloc and accept&nbspcomment image It’s a Trap!
  2. Head southwest to Bladespire Hold. This is going to be just like the last time we cursed ogres: Stand in front of whatever building is convenient, get full hp and mana, then right-click your Wicked Strong Fetish. It will spawn a Bladespire Evil Spirit — kill it. Repeat this process at a different building, or wait until the spooky orc face in front of the building goes away (if you don’t wait and summon the spirit at the same building, you’ll have to fight two spirits at once). You have to do it 5 times here, however.

Something’s not right here,,, After accepting It’s a Trap you go back to Bladespire, and turn in the quest to Rexxar. Job Done. He offers a new quest called: Grom the Dragon Eater. Tor’chunk offers a quest called Slaughter at Boulder’mok.

Rexar’s quest is about killing setting up a trap to summon and kill one dude, the other is killing many dudes. Nothing about summoning spirits.

Ah fair enough I suppose. I just found this easier to complete when they quest was given, I thought your guide had done the same. SO it looked like this was repeated from before.

Why did you pick Netherstorm, and not Shadowmoon? (Also I was 70 by the end of Blade’s Edge, so either choice is irrelevant for getting to 70)

Given that one of the quests required for unlock Shattered Halls is in Shadowmoon – and this is required for raid attunement, I’d say Shadowmoon has it’s merits.

Incidentally, there are breadcrumbs for both end zones in a number of places you could have mentions. Nagrand is one of the top of my head, which offers breadcrumbs to both places.

Horde Versions

Nagrand: “A Strange vison” – Seer Nakha and “Kroghan’s Report” – Captain Kroghan send you to Area 52, and Shadowmoon Village respectively.

Blade’s Edge: Agadai’s “The Apprentice Request” and Old Orok’s “Out of this World Produce” – again for Shadowmoon, and Netherstorm respectively

You missed an entire chain starting with A Visit with The Greatmother in Nagrand. This is 14 quests long, requires level 66, and the completion of several other Mag’har chains

  1. Find Nether-Stalker Khay’ji outside the inn to turn in&nbspcomment image A Heap of Ethereals, accept&nbspcomment image Warp-Raider Nesaad.

At this point, the NPC starts offering the repeatable quest “Another Heap of Etherals” for 250 rep Friendly to Exalted

guides like these all make the same mistake, theres no need to give information like : “Go to the dark portal, take the quest right before the dark portal, Cross the dark portal, now talk to the Npc right in front of you with the Question mark over his head….”

Its stupid, and people are not stupid. also makes you put in a lot of unnecessary effort that just clutters and adds weight, making the Guide Indigestible and inefficient.
Most of Outland is pretty straightforward, there are some quests that are drops from mobs that should be explained briefly, instead of giving every little step its better to just name the quests chains and associated reps quickly and people will read the quests and figure out what to do. Litteraly a big map is all thats needed to show all the quests, where to get them which are chains and where to complete them in the most efficient and fastest way.

There are plenty of people in the world today that prefer step-by-step directions on how to complete things. If you look at furniture assembly, for example, 9/10 times you’ll have step-by-step instructions included. This is so that the consumer is able to assemble the product correctly and to enjoy it to the maximum potential.

If we look at World of Warcraft, a step-by-step guide allows players an optimal leveling path, where they don’t waste time not picking up and completing certain quests at the same time, causing them to have to return to the same area at a later time.

Placing all of the information on one big map is a recipe for disaster and will literally be clutter, making the guide illegible.

At the end of the day, why do you think Quest Helper was created? It was created out of a demand from players tired of having to read quest text and figure out where to go on their own. The same goes for any website that hosts information about quests – where to obtain, where to turn in, and where the locations of mobs or items are.

I’m not judging and certainly not of the usage of oversimplified guides. But people are definitely stupid. Not the people who read this of course I understand that. You seem like bright folk with above average intelligence.. but the rest of them? Holy fucking shit balls. Dumber then a second coat of paint.

I don’t know which people you have worked with, but dude I think you couldn’t be more wrong.

I’m currrently working as a project manager in IT sometime if there is room I assist my collegues with First Level Support aka “my headset does not work… / I did not do anything and my computer deleted all data… / I tried all my passwords but nothing works…” All obviously people working an office job. The shit I see is crazy, I sometimes send out Screenshots where I 100% accurately explain:

  1. go to xyz.com
  2. log in with username:xxx and password:yyy
  3. click on the left Tab

And people create tickets because they dont know which username/password they have to use.

So far I have used this guide for leveling in Nagrand and I liked it, it was clear not confusing or anything and there were some things the autor added that made me smile now and then, so I can 100% recommend this.
