The Blackwing Lair attunement quest, “Blackhand’s Command”, will become available on all realms tomorrow, Friday, January 10.
Level 50 Class Quests
All players, starting at level 50, can now begin class-specific questlines offered by class trainers in capital cities. These quests conclude with a choice of one of three powerful rare items.
New Reputation Rewards
The Argent Dawn, Thorium Brotherhood, Timbermaw Hold, Silverwing Sentinels, and Warsong Outriders faction vendors now offer reputation reward items that were added in patches 1.6 and 1.7 of original WoW.
Players who complete “Hands of the Enemy” and reach Revered reputation with Hydraxian Waterlords may now obtain Eternal Quintessence from Duke Hydraxis.
Darkmoon Faire – Coming Earlier in February
A gathering of the exotic from around the world and beyond, Silas Darkmoon has brought together the Darkmoon Faire as a celebration of the wondrous and mysterious found in Azeroth. While the Faire spends most of their time in parts unknown, they do stop from time to time in Mulgore and Elwynn Forest. When the faire is on its way barkers will stop by Orgrimmar and Ironforge to announce its arrival.
The first Darkmoon Faire in WoW Classic will get underway in early February, with barkers and the Faire setup appearing on Friday, February 7, and the festivities opening on Monday, February 10. Look for the many Darkmoon Cards that make up the beasts, elementals, portals, and warlords sets to begin dropping from enemies and bosses on Wednesday, February 5.
Ughhh, I am so happy they are releasing BWL soon. I'm still so surprised that they are speeding up the release cycle. Its faster than I expected so I am happy. Not quite fast enough for a lot of the playerbase, but quick enough to keep the majority of raiders content.
I agree that it was warranted to speed up BWL release. MC/Ony are too easy. But... I would prefer a longer gap before AQ hits, and especially Naxx, where raid content starts becoming very challenging.

Ehh... Raid content isn't going to get "very challenging". Especially if they stagger its release. The longer it takes to step into Naxx, the easier it will be as teams will be more and more geared when entering. Having played a very tuned version of Naxx on private, I think Naxx will be completed by most raiding guilds within 2-3 weeks of its release and we will start to see pugs pop up around 1 month after its release on busy servers. My Naxx experience is pretty limited but when I compare the old Naxx footage we have from OG vanilla guilds... They werent optimizing anywhere near the standard players are today.
Good point, I found even the release of BWL took too much time to come out.
I really hope people temper their expectations about how long it's going to take to clear BWL. Lots of people I play with are going on about BWL taking the entire week to clear, or thinking it's going to be a dramatic step up in difficulty. Maybe it'll take a few weeks to get on farm, maybe people are going to have to play better than they did in MC. But all the fights are documented and known, and everything's going to come down to execution. Once a team gets the execution down it's probably not going to take much longer to clear every week than MC. Yeah it'll take a bit longer than MC, especially at first. Yeah it'll be harder than MC and require better gear and execution. But I hope people don't get their hopes up about it being the one true classic raid that finally makes things difficult.
Just like during the lead up to the launch of Classic, I feel like a lot of people were too hyped for the game and it could never live up to their expectations. I didn't let myself get hyped out of my mind, instead opting to feel comfy about the whole thing. And once the game launched, it was indeed comfy as hell. I met a lot of people during leveling that were way too hyped about the game. It never lived up to their unrealistic over-hyped expectations, and those guys never made it to 60. I hope people don't approach BWL the same way - I hope people don't expect that it is going to be some ultra challenging raid dungeon that it's not going to be. I'm sure it'll be a bump up, but I hope more people see it as the next comfy chapter in a comfy journey. It's going to be a new place to hang out with friends new and old for months to come.
I can't fucking wait for BWL. It's going to be fantastic. I never got to play it before. But I'm not over-hyping the difficulty aspect of it, or the place in general. I am looking forward to it as another opportunity to hang out with my raid team every week. More new adventures to have, more new boss fights to learn together. A new set of kill times to strive for, another raid dungeon to work at to get better every week.
They're definitely trying to find a good pace for this stuff. I understand the people who want it to be pushed out, and I understand the people who want the content to come out faster. The longer it takes for content to be released, the more players get burned out of the existing stuff and quit. On the other hand, the sooner we get all the content released, the sooner this whole thing is over. I don't want to lose people on my raid team due to burnout, but I also don't want to reach the finish line too soon either because I want this journey to keep on going. This whole thing has been like the best road trip of my life, and I don't wanna run out of road any sooner than we have to.
Overall, I'm really happy BWL is around the corner. I agree with you guys that this took a bit too long to get here. But again, they're definitely trying to find a good balance with content releases here. Lots of variables they're trying to satisfy.

Not really. We lost more people to the 60 grind than we will ever lose to BWL. There wont be many guilds that collapse because of BWL who have an active raid roster completing MC. People are largely overestimating the difficulty of BWL.
I am in the same boat here, I would prefer a wait on AQ but not everyone will want/agree.
I don't think raids get "harder" until Twin Emps in AQ40 and beyond.
(In our guild we had alot of trouble once we got to the Twin Emps to down them the first time.
It took us multiple resets to finally take them down and even after we did, it was still challenging and we didn't 1 shot them every time after.)
After and including the Twin Emps, wow/raids/players needed to focus on more execution without much if not any missteps/mistakes.
Its not necessarily harder, its more like all 40 need to focus and not afk through the boss fights.
Had many people in MC/BWL back in the day afk/auto follow people during the raid even at bosses and it didnt wipe/slow us down.
Naxx you needed to be more insync as a group, same with the end of AQ40, if you want to consistently down the bosses and clear the raid before the weekly reset.
